Came here for dinner the other day for the first time. This place was amazing! Can't wait to return . The food was delicious hot and fresh. The service was good, but nothing to boast about. Knowing we were first timers she could have been better. There were only three other tables being served by her and another server. It was 4pm on a Tuesday. The place is small but so inviting! We sat inside but next time I'll try the patio. Can't say anything bad. Try this place. We came to the one in Downey. Great easy parking. Huge lot. I live near the one in Alhambra but parking is rough. So the few times I've tried I've gone elsewhere because of it. read more

the Downey Supper Club met and enjoyed food and service on Tuesday the 10th of March. we were a large group of about 40 people. we were seated on the patio and took up the entire space. there were multiple servers to assist our large group. the service was friendly and efficient. the food was super yummy: i didn't hear a negative thing from anyone in the group. the check out was super easy with their digital terminals, so there was no problem with 15 to 20 separate checks. this was our first time here but we would defiinitely return for the service and yummy food: and so should you read more

On a Sunday afternoon, this is a pretty chill spot not too busy. Service was good, the food was pretty good too. The nachos were $10 bc of Sunday happy hour after 3. They were good, the chicken on them was great. The garlic fries are amazing! The chicken sandwich unfortunately was nothing special but good for the price. I didn't like how sodas were canned/bottled and we weren't told about it before hand. My only complaint was that the boards the food is served on are soo small so your food may fall off, and they had threads from a sponge or rag in between the areas where the boards are wearing down. Maybe a new finish on the boards or new boards in general are a good idea. Also the parking lot is decent sized for a Sunday evening but I can imagine when it gets buy for their brunch it can be a mess read more

The Chicken Koop is a nice spot with a great vibe. Full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to hang out. My wife and I found this place while running errands and decided to give it a try after spotting it on Yelp. We were excited to try this place after seeing it had 1,000+ reviews and a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, so expectations were definitely high. Unfortunately, the overall experience ended up being disappointing for us. The menu has a solid variety--sandwiches, wraps, and specialty plates, all centered around chicken. Plenty of options, which I appreciated. The drinks were alright, but heavy on the sweetness and light on the alcohol. The chicken had good flavor, but sadly came out dry, which is kind of a problem when chicken is literally the whole concept. Add a 30-minute wait time, and the food just didn't justify the hype. It felt a little too long considering it wasn't overly busy during the day. Not terrible, but not worth the excitement either. 3 stars for us. It is definitely a great spot for a hang out. With stronger pours, juicier chicken, and faster service, this place could actually live up to the hype. read more

We dropped in to the Chicken Koop for a late night dinner a few weeks back after shopping at the outlets. The Chicken Koop had a lively vibe with music playing and steady flow of customers. The location has a nice bar centrally located with inside and outdoor dining around it. There are plenty of TV playing local sports games as well. Service was ok during our experience. We were seated quickly and attended too periodically. We ordered the Cuban Style Chicken plate and the Curry Chicken Wrap. Both dished were very good and can be shared easily. The portions are good and match up to the prices. The dipping sauces as well are bomb! We got some Chimichurri and green sauce and wow! They were addicting and elevate the dishes to another level. We love Chicken Koop's popcorn chicken but the portions are getting skimpy. I understand times are rough.... But the portions have gotten smaller and smaller. We always go and get the same thing, popcorn chicken. We understand it's an appetizer so I don't expect a meal but I also don't expect a couple of pieces. Charge more and keep the portions how they were. I got 3 orders and this is what we got. I paid 32.97 plus 15% tip for this to go order. I'm very disappointed as the flavor and chicken is good but for this amount of food... nope. So let me start with that I wrote a bad review on my bad experience at the Whittier location with the service and management, fast forward to today cane to try them out one more again and let me tell you a whole different experience at this location in Downey other the the seafood boil , and Porto's I don't go much to Downey and Maria Victoria was the best an even the gentleman that greeted us ( my two adult suns) . Came here last Sunday to celebrate my husbands birthday. This place is a must every time we're in the area, this location specifically. We ordered bbq chicken wings, we had the extra crispy. I won't have them any other way, they are perfectly crunchy on the outside and tender inside. These are full of flavor, I'm serious every single bite is busting flavor. We also had the chicken taquitos, they were ok. I would have liked them better if they were filled with chicken tings. We shared the Cuban style plate, this is the main reason my husband likes this place. These chicken is flavored and every piece is tender and juicy, even the chicken breast. The only thing I didn't like this visit was that they sold out of chicken empanadas, this is my absolute favorite item on the menu. Oh can't forget the margaritas, they have the best margaritas we have ever tried. We got the margarita flight to see what flavor my husband would like, we ordered mango, guava, and watermelon. The watermelon was are favorite one. Next time we will just get a pitcher of watermelon margarita :) This time around the service was the best, we have been to this specific location about four times. We have been to the Alhambra location many many times, but have never been service like this visit. Natalia was helping us, she said she was new, she could have fooled me. She was knowledge, efficient, fast, patient, and friendly. I drink lots of water, she somehow kept up with me, she made sure my glass was full.
