This BJ's is at the Stonewood mall in Downey. This is really the best place to eat when shopping here. They have a really large menu with burgers, chicken dishes, salads, and lots of specialty items. We ordered two things. 1. Bacon-avocado burger combo 5/5 2. California chicken club sandwich. 4/5 Iced teas. I always include drinks in my reviews because I always get iced teas at restaurants and compare them. In this case the iced teas were average. 3/5 The waitress was very nice and attentive and helped us pick out our meals. Service was a tad slower than expected but perhaps its because we were both starving :) You can't really go wrong at BJ's Brewhouse. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I sat at the bar and waited over 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging me--not even to take a drink order. During that time, multiple servers were actively running food and taking orders from other guests in the bar area, so it wasn't as though the restaurant had come to a standstill. When I asked to speak with a manager, it seemed the hostess alerted the server first, and only then did the server come over to assist me. By that point, I had already decided to speak with the manager because the lack of service was unacceptable. When the manager came over, instead of addressing my concerns, he tried to explain the situation away by saying the server had been helping a customer on the phone. However, I had been watching the bar area, and she was assisting other guests as well as several other servers continued serving customers around me. I ultimately left without ordering because I didn't feel my concerns were taken seriously. Good customer service starts with acknowledging guests, even if it's just to say someone will be with them shortly. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here, and the manager's response made the experience even more disappointing. read more

We came here on a Friday and it had been a while that I had been to BJ's. Went mid day and we were sat promptly. The front desk girls were great and friendly. That's the only reason they got a star. The rest was pretty terrible. We ordered their special steak they have with a salad and a pizookie. The salad was decent. I ordered a medium cooked steak. When I tell you this thing they served me was RAW. I usually get medium rare but because it's a bigger piece I asked for medium. This thing wasn't even blue. It somehow came out before the appetizer and wings. That's how uncooked it was. The waitress was not good. Came by seldomly. The wings came with a rotten piece of celery. The worst part was the restroom. They were filthy. No toilet paper on ANY stall. There were cooks who were in there too and didn't alert management. People were using the toilet seat covers. I really hope this was a one off because this has been the WORST experience I've had at any BJ's. read more

More than enough parking was available. Cool vibes. They had sports games on all of the TVs. Was able to sit at a booth in the bar area. Great service from our waitress. She was really nice and attentive at her best with being busy with other tables. The Crispy Calamari was really good. Was the main reason for our visit last night lol. It also came out fast. Ordered it soon as we sat down. Spinach and artichoke dip was good too. I ordered 2 orders of the sliders. Both orders were exceptional. I could've swore the last time I ordered sliders from BJ's it was only 3 burgers lol. These came with 4. Get enough from the 1st round so I had to order another. Stopped by last weekend . Was seated quickly. Our server was Chelsea she was nice, attentive and helped with our requests. The food came out fairly quick and it was delicious. It was nice and fresh inside with music and games on the tv. We had a good time. By the time we left the place was full and people waiting to be seated. read more

I like sitting at the bar because the service is way faster than sitting at a table. Took about 15mins to bring just waters and no alcohol drinks... Short staffed but the servers that were there seemed to just like to hangout by the bar standing around or chit chatting and not taking care of the tables. Definitely not coming back here unless they have plenty servers to take care of the customers. read more

Excellent Service!!! 15 Minute Wait Time!!! Almost all the time!!! Food was excellent & service was above average! The waiters checked in at least twice times within our visit. We were also greeted by the manager as they made their rounds, very polite & friendly. We had gone to the Cerritos BJs but they had a wait time of over 90 minutes, then I called Downey and they had no wait time. We walked in and were sat down in less than 15 minutes. I love BJ's is because Monday through Friday. They have a deal where I can get a burger with any side as a lettuce wrap or with gluten-free bread. I also get a gluten-free Pazooki with vanilla ice cream for $13. The burger had perfect flavor and wasn't too salty! I always add buffalo wings sauce with ranch, which makes it delicious! The Pazooki is gluten-free, but it does not taste gluten-free! It's the best gluten-free chocolate chip warm cookie I have ever had! If you are sensitive to salt like me they accommodate, and don't add salt to the burger. My waitress Laura was very sweet and patient with me. I honestly don't know why this restaurant was chosen for us to eat at. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The girl at the front desk had a very rude attitude and acted as if customers were bothering her. Every time someone walked in, she would roll her eyes and seem annoyed to even do her job. Customer service sets the tone for a restaurant, and unfortunately this was not welcoming at all. There was also another lady next to her, possibly a manager, and instead of staying professional they were openly talking badly about situations while customers were around. It just created an uncomfortable environment overall. As for the food, it was just okay. We waited about an hour for our meals, and when the food finally came out, it was cold and had to be taken back. Between the poor service, long wait, and cold food, the experience was not worth it. Saturday July 11th 2026 stopped by after walking the Stonewood mall. Arrived around 1pm. Plenty of seating and was greeted right away. Got seated and placed our drink order immediately. This spot has Dos XX lager on draft! Amazing. Ordered the jambalaya which was cooked perfectly chicken was not over cooked and dry like most places. Now right before leaving the soccer match was begging so this place got full rather quickly. It's a very good spot for great food and awesome service. I went here for lunch with my wife. As usual, this place was packed, but we were lucky enough to get a booth in the bar area. The waitress was overwhelmed with tables, but managed to get us our menus and drinks. Before ordering our food, we saw another couple across from us receive theirs, and it looked really good. The woman had ordered the Strawberry Fields Chicken Salad, and the man had ordered the All-American Smash Burger with fries. Both of these items were on their $13 lunch special. The salad had a large amount of chicken and looked amazing. When the waitress asked for our orders, we told her that we would like the exact same thing as they had. Our orders arrived, and for some reason, my salad had half as much chicken as the woman across from us and looked more like a side salad. I asked the waitress why my salad seemed to have much less chicken than the woman's, and she did have an answer. Moments later, the restaurant manager showed up at our table and asked if everything was fine. I addressed the lack of chicken on my salad, and the manager agreed and had the chef cook an extra chicken breast for my salad. I really appreciated the manager recognizing the mishap with my salad and ordering the extra chicken at no charge. Overall, our experience was good. The waitress was very attentive, the food was good, and the manager was very attentive to her customers. I would recommend this restaurant. read more

Who did a great job saying he would make a new one, get him something else or take it off the bill. I got here at 7 did not leave till 11:20 because they took their sweet time in taking the bill back for it to be paid as well as our food came super later after we ordered it and they brought A1 steak sauce after my steak was finished. I have not seen such a lack of professionalism in a well known establishment. I am baffled by the service my family and I have experienced if I could give them -5 stars I would. First time trying BJ's, stopped by around 9pm and it was still busy surprisingly. The workers were friendly and although it was decently late, we were not rushed at all. I started off with some mozzarella sticks and lemon pepper bone in wings for appetizers, along with a Vanilla cream soda for the bev. My main was the smokehouse burger with a side of fries and lots of ranch (shoutout to the employees for bringing a whole plate of ranch for us lol.) I also tried the deep dish baked Ziti and the California chicken club sandwich. Mozzarella sticks 4.5/5 The cheese pull was great, the sticks themselves weren't too greasy like some other establishments serve them, and the breading was not overly salty and they weren't bland either. Would definitely order these again ! Lemon Pepper Wings 2/5 No lemon and no pepper, just salty. I wouldn't recommend ordering their lemon pepper wings but the wings themselves were good. Crispy and juicy chicken, I can imagine their bbq wings are probably good. Vanilla Cream Soda 2/5 There was no soda to the vanilla cream. Tasted like Vanilla cream syrup. I'd order it again if I'm in the mood for a western style burger but once again it's nothing crazy that I'd specifically come back to BJ's for. Deep Dish Ziti 3.5/5 Sausage, Meatball, Pepperoni, hella cheese and Pasta with a red sauce, this dish was pretty tasty. Tastes like a pizza in a bowl (with pasta.) I've never had anything like it but it was good. I recommend trying it if you like Pasta / Pizza Chicken Club 3/5 Nice and simple chicken club. I've never eaten at a BJ's before, so I decided to give it a try for lunch. It turns out they have a variety of interesting Pizookie Meal Deals on the menu which each go for $13.00. I ordered the "All American Smashburger" which comes with fries, as well as a Mini Pizookie for dessert. I inquired if I could substitute a different side for the fries, and was told I could have any of the other sides on the menu, so I took a garden salad, which was quite large and tasty. They also offered a variety of flavor choices for the Pizaookie, and I chose "triple chocolate", which was quite delicious. For the price, I thought this was a very satisfying meal. read more

The food was excellent. We had a reservation and we had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. Once seated, it took 30 minutes to give our drink order. Another 20 minutes before we were able to give our food order. For this type of restaurant, the prices were reasonable.
