This associate is HORRIBLE. This store sold me a damaged product. I just made my way to this store to do an exchange because the shorts I bought my daughter wouldn't button. This girl told me they don't exchange damages items. Ok, so you can SELL damaged items????? I asked her name, she refused to give it. She's just NASTY. Refused to help. Do not shop here. On 10/12/2025, my daughter, granddaughter and I visited the Brentwood, Ca. store. We had an enormous amount of online purchases to return to the store. Estrella assisted us with a smile and great customer service. She was thorough, kind and extremely patient during the entire process. How is this store even in business! I've come in a few times and it still looks the same. It looks like the store is going out of business or it was just ransacked. Seems like 2 employees work at all times. I heard an employee tell a customer we get shipments Monday, Wednesday's and fridays but we don't know what we get. By the looks of the store it looks like you don't get any shipments. Garbage everywhere. Seems like no one cares. Never again. Don't waste your time looking at this store. Employees are NICE. But check out is slow. The store is PACKED with clothes so its difficult to monuver if you have a stroller.

They have sale signs over items that are not on sale. When you ask about it the response is they are not on sale and they don't know why the sign is there, yet no one moves it. I love childrens place but moving forward I will be shopping online instead of going to this location. read more

After running errands all day today we decided to take a break and come to AMC and I stopped at the children's place store to take a peek (I shop monthly online EVERY MONTH) and everything was just a mess so I didn't even know where to look, when the "shift leader" Veronica, asks aggressively if I'm ready? She threw me off as I had NOTHING IN MY HANDS .. so I asked ready for what? And she says to check out!! So I asked again, what do you mean? She says are you ready to check out now?? I said .. do you see me holding anything?? I've been a retail manager for long enough to know the technique she tried to apply here. Just because I'm not dressed up and wearing make up (like usual) does not give her the right to assume I'm gonna steal something! Totally unacceptable. A Sunday afternoon 2pm, there's like two people on the floor only. They have an express check out but you have to stand in the regular line until they call on you or tell you go there. BTW we weren't greeted when we walked in. Sooo the cashier was really slow. And the girl at the express check out stand was also rude. No customer service what's so ever. Half of their shelves was empty, but their new clothes like long sleeves were stocked. None of their price scanners were working. Then the slow cashier went on lunch or on break and a tall skinny woman came to the register. She was nice and fast. All I know is that I will not come back to this location. Horrible customer service!!! I picked up an order and tried to purchase one simple clothing set that I got from the 50% off rack. She charged me for full price and when I told her it was half off she said with the biggest attitude "well that's not what it's ringing up as" on top of that even before that her ringing me up for this one item took about ten minutes for her to ring me up for one item. I usually LOVE these stores (not specifically this location as this was my 1st visit here), and I've shopped with them for the past 11 years for my other child. They have quality merchandise, great sales & special deals, as well as nice employees and well organized stores. However, I wasn't very pleased with THIS location: The infant boy section had very limited inventory the day I went. Not sure if they were getting rid of the old to make room for the new... but they had only ONE pair of sandals in his size (6-9 month and/or 9-12 month)!!! It's summer, so why not a good selection of sandals for babies??!! I ended up buying a 2 pairs of shorts, 1 shirt, and 1 pair of "cheapy foam" sandals bordering on being too small for baby (out of desperation) ... for a total of $30. Not bad, but not EXACTLY indicative of a "huge store-wide sale" as advertised. I would go back if I'm in the area, but even with other locations having closed down (Concord & Walnut Creek) I won't be making any special trips out there. read more

I only wish I could give them a "0" I spent hundreds of dollars in this place for my grandchildren and I have a $24 exchange. My girls took the tags off and unfortunately the items did not fit , with my receipt and tags the manager Tiffany refused to give me an exchange. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. MAINLY based on my interaction with one person. I believe she was the manager, (Tiffany?) an African American woman. She was so unbelievably rude and hurtful to me and I will never enter another Children's Place location. A while back, I called on the phone to check on an item and was on hold for exactly 31 minutes. When she finally picked up the phone she explained to me that it was very busy that day and that if I wanted to check I would have to physically come into the store. I completely understood because I have also worked in retail many years and understand that sometimes stores get very busy. I only live about 5 minutes away so I hopped in the car only to find that when I arrived at the store absolutely no customers were inside. The store was empty. Not busy at all. This wasn't the worst part. When I finally greeted (by the manager, Tiffany) it was absolutely disrespectful and rude. I can not believe they have someone with this attitude even working here much less managing a location. Get better. read more

This Children's Place is a disaster! I'm sure it'll be closing soon. I've walked in this store probably 7-8 times in the last year and it's always a mess and the staff is always just standing around talking. Well today was the worst! You can't find anything! I told the cashier how appalled I was by the condition of the store. I said "this store is a mess" she said "yeah I know it gets like this" and walked off. I began taking pics all around the store. The register is piled with junk. I walk to the back of the store where I see the same cashier and she ask me if she can help me. I told her yes you can help me because I can't find anything, this store is a mess. She rudely stated that she knows it's a mess but they need more hours and It's not enough staff. I said "well I'm calling corporate about this." She said "please do, we need more hours." She just kept repeating "we need more hours" over and over while I was talking. Yet she was standing in the back leaning against a clothing rack, chit chatting, and flirting with a male customer while me and another lady were ready to check out! Ms. Brandy doesn't need more hours, she needs a new job. Gymboree across the street was cleaner and friendlier than this store in the midst of a going out of business sale! I went in to the children's place in the streets of Brentwood on Saturday around 6pm and had to worst shopping experience and customer service that I have ever experienced at a retail location. 1. No one greeted me when I walked in even when I walked directly passed 3 employees. 2. I was shopping for little girls and was drawn to the sale table since they had shirts for only $4.99 however they were completely demolished. Now I get it I manage a retail store myself and my store is much much larger and I would never allow that. 3. Employees were standing around talking like they had nothing to do. I was disgusted by the overall appearance of the store. I noticed as I was leaving every table looked horrendous. Staff there need to be more curtious to their customers and manage their time more wisely. The only reason I go to this store is because it's convenient and their items are pretty cute. I don't think I will shop here again tho I just can't accept laziness and disrespect as a customer. Merchandising suggestion: Hang one shirt of each tabled item so that customer can see all options. Then tables may not get as trashed. Or just don't be lazy! read more

The manager said no and she couldn't exchange the items because the size I needed was out of stock. I emailed customer service and I never heard back. Definitely won't be shopping there anymore. On this visit, I came with my mom and boyfriend to shop for my little cousin. My mom only came to get a giftcard and I was just there to tag along. Until I saw the headbands. One thing everyone should know about me is I LOVE and am OBSESSED with headbands. I have a big trunk filled with all kinds of headbands. My head is fairly small so when I saw these headbands, I jokingly tried one on and saw that it fit. It was pretty much like Prince Charming putting the glass slipper on Cinderella's foot. I got myself a couple of headbands and voila, we are now going to live happily ever after. This place is very nice for anyone with kids and the clothes don't seem to be super expensive. I will never go back to this store again. Soon as I walk in the manger was following me around. I need to return some pants for my daughter but didnt have my receipt the manager advised me that i cant get anything else but pant. I advised her my daughter cant fix the pants she was like sorry what you want me to do. I pull my receipt then she claims there a 45 day policy and i cant return or exchange the pants. She gave me the number to the corporate office and i called but the office but close on sunday. This store is racist and dont like black people shoping there. I wish the store was bigger but its a great place to get a few outfits for the kids. Inventory of printed t-shirts is usually great and the staff is very friendly. If you are tired of target and hare the big department stores this is where to go for back to school clothes. read more

Store was a mess! Let me start by saying staff was really busy on register which I understand and they were so nice. But, Why is there only two employees???? They need someone folding clothes. I know it's the customers who make the mess. Inventory was really low for baby boys. They need more employees especially on the weekend. I don't know maybe someone called in sick. This place sucks! Seriously! After today I don't think I will shop here anymore. I walked in today trying to return a dress, I had my receipt, and the tags were on the dress & I had used a my place reward for the purchase. I went in trying to exchange the dress & still keep my place reward but the manager and associate that I spoke to did not want to honor it. I tried looking for the same exact dress but they did not have it in the store, although they did offer to call a local store. My thing is that I chose to go to that location, and they were not helpful + return guideless suck. I'd rather take my business elsewhere. It was one thing that I couldn't get an even exchange, but what makes it worse is that the employees don't make the situation better, I have worked in retail before, and I know there's many ways to satisfy the customer (with approval) of course but they didn't even try. read more

I just felt that I was treated so differently, than the person that was in front of me at the cashier!! Cashier person was very chatty with costumer and almost held up the line, theres nothing wrong with that, she's just being personable I thought.. However, when it was my turn didn't even said hi, never asked if i found everything ok, she just rang me up, gave me a pamphlet and didn't even explain to me what to do with it!! Not super impressed with my last visit. The store was clean and organized, but I had a hard time finding the sizes I needed. I didn't feel like there was a good balance of clothes. Most of the items had graphics on them which is very casual, so I couldn't find anything more dressy or preppy. Honestly I do not understand these reviews. I went to the store because I was headed to a baby shower and well I had no idea where to even start! I guess my inexperience in this area was evident that Karen (who was extremely nice and knowledgeable thank God lol) came up to me and asked if I needed help, so I explained why I was there and she got right to work and started asking some questions about the soon to be born baby, and with those questions she helped me pick something that actually ended up being the most popular present of the party! Anyways, point being I never leave any reviews, but after seeing the way that people spoke of this store it was clear that they were only going the days Karen wasn't there because my experience was great store was clean staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
