The food is amazing (love their burritos and homemade tortillas)! And, the price is right. I'll be stopping her EVERY trip to Yuma.

In honor of my first yelp review. It just only felt right if it was Chile Pepper. The hometown hero. It just had to be Chile Pepper. I no longer live in Yuma, but every time I come to visit I have to stop at Chile Pepper! A dozen of the roll tacos and a bean and cheese burrito and another bean and cheese with rice burrito. They are to die for! And of course, always order extra of their delicious salsa that I let my roll tacos sit and soak in while I eat my delicious burritos . I always always recommend this spot. When someone tells me they are driving through Yuma I tell them they HAVE to go out of their way and stop here! It's a MUST! I know for a fact Anthony Bourdain would be a HUGE fan of this place. I remember asking a gentleman who just ordered 50 bean and cheese burritos, why 50? He told me he was driving through from San Diego and always goes out of his way to come here to take these burritos home and freezes them. it's funny because I would also do the same thing when I lived in San Diego and Phoenix. My drive from San Diego to Phoenix or Phoenix to San Diego. I would always go out of my way in the drive to stop here. The burrito are so cheap. The roll tacos are a little pricy but so worth it. This place is amazing! You can always find me in the corner slurping on the salsa because it is that freaking delicious! I can drink it. read more

Chile Pepper, you gave me a good breakfast and for that I thank you. This place is simple, the menu isn't massive and the dining hall is more like a cafeteria than a typical restaurant. That said, it's exactly what I expected being that it's in Yuma Arizona, so we ordered our food which for the morning was egg and bacon breakfast burritos, and a couple brownies. They were good! We were hungry, but I've been plenty of places that give you breakfast burritos that leave something to be desired and this wasn't one of them. The food was excellent and if I find myself in Yuma again, or I should say when I find myself in Yuma again, I'd totally go back for a couple more. They lasted us all day as we explored Yuma before making the journey up to Quartzsite, and eventually Phoenix. read more

My all time favorite Mexican place! I die for the bean rice and cheese burritos! Chile Pepper is affordable, delicious, fast, and overall amazing! I dream about their salsa when I haven't had it in a while. Sometimes we literally drive the 3 hours from Phoenix to Yuma just for their food. 10/10 always recommend! read more

Stuck on what to order? Can't go wrong with the bean & cheese burrito! This is a must stop every time I am in town visiting family. Yes the lines are long, but they are long for a reason; it is delicious! But, don't let the long line deter you at all as typically their service has always been pretty quick. Also, being a local family owned and operated restaurant any money you spend is going right back into the local community. The bean and cheese burritos are my favorite. Also, they have good 50/50 bowls. One thing that is good that is not on their menu is a butter tortilla. I know its not good for me but it is delicious! so I grew up eating chili pepper and mr g's and lets just say when I moved to Texas my heart was still at those places lol I usually get the bean, rice and cheese burritos with 4 taquitos and a side of fries. they have this homemade salsa that tastes like someone's abuela has been cooking it for hours in the back. the good thing about this place is that they are SUPER inexpensive and they always are quick to get your food to you. not going to lie, I did have my dad ship some chili pepper to my family in Texas. it wasn't fresh like if I was there but damn it was still great lol you wouldn't be disappointed I can tell you that!!!!! read more

Came here to try the famous burrito. For the price is was bomb. Seriously impressive. The rest of the restaurant is meh. Just jammed in tables. But in yuma beggars can't be choosers. There is seriously not a lot of other options. The staff was cool and friendly. The place was busy af too. If you're rolling through Yuma (as we were on the way to San Diego) this place is a great stop for some good grub. I had read about it as being one of places to get one of the top 25 burritos in the country, so I had to give it a shot. Its a little bit of a ways from the freeway but it is most definitely worth the drive. The tortillas are so fresh and smell so good. They have the best bean and cheese burritos, using very stringy cheese. My girlfriend ordered a quesadilla and she couldn't get enough of it, raving about how it really hit the spot. A bit of a biased review seeing as how I am a locally grown customer. One of the best bean burritos is definitely a title it should hold in any burrito list. "The Chile Pepper" bean/bean and cheese burrito is nothing fancy. It is nothing more than what it is. DAILY handmade flour tortillas wrapped around a perfect balance of cheese and beans. The beans are just runny enough to make it down your gullet whilst keeping the flavor stationed on your buds. Simple and elegant. I'll admit that the burritos are a bit small, but at $1.89 there's no beating it. Besides, no matter the size, you're going to want at least 2 more. Every time. Guaranteed. read more

My brother took my husband and I to Chili Pepper several years ago. He reminded me it was the offshoot of Mr. G's where we spent many good times as kids in the 50's. This time we came in a travel trailer and were able to bring some of the rolled tacos home with us. They are my favorite. I don't know what the rave is about, I'm fairly new to this town and I have not tried anything that would make me want to suggest to anyone. I've ordered the carne asada burritos for my son, which he enjoys (and why I've gone here twice). I ordered the carne asada plate and it was alright, second time I ordered the rolled tacos, again it was okay. I think my palate is just used to flavorful types of food and this didn't even scratch the surface or any other places here. The staff is so so, some are friendly and most just look like they don't want to be working. Customer service is not a priority in this town, because most of them act the same way. read more

The bean and cheese burrito was good!! The salsa needs help!! A lot of it!! It is tooo watery and not hot at all- the horchata was ok.

The atmosphere here is all right and the people aren't rude but not friendly. This is mostly a place for people who grew up in Yuma eating it and see it as comfort food. The salsa is almost the consistency of Kool-Aid. Very watery and not much flavor. Most people get the rolled tacos which in my opinion are hard and flavorless. Worth checking out because it's kind of a Yuma icon. But once you've done that, you probably won't be back. read more

Overall Underwhelming. This is catered to people who don't know good Mexican foods. I'm from California so I'm use to my burritos being meaty and juicy. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito , horchata, and taco rolls. The burrito was shamefully smaller than a regular size iPhone. As you can see in the picture, the guacamole and sour cream comes on the side, not in the burrito. The burrito was stuffed with dry cabbage and there was more rice than meat, I even choked on rice because of how dry they were. Their ingredients don't taste fresh. And for sure the horchata is not fresh. I've tasted better horchata from bottled sources bought from the super market. Their horchata was watery and was not as refreshing as fresh brewed horchata. Basically gave me a stomach ache with the combination of the acid the crappy burrito gave me. Their taquitos are decent. Good texture but dry in taste. I'd recommend going to a mom & pop taco stand versus this joint. read more

If you are mexican expecting mexican food, this is not the place. If you are NOT Mexican, trust me, this is NOT mexican AT ALL. You are better off the taco carts around the city. Thats closer to the mexican street tacos. Honestly, growing up mexican, you dont eat "bean and cheese burritos" or any of that crap. Maybe if it was authentic refried beans with queso fresco in a thin, good flavored, flour tortilla.. MAYBE. But for a Mexican person, this is an embarrassment of "mexican food". I'm not from yuma, I just work here and I went because of the hype... boy I regret it. Horrible food. I had a carne wanna be "bisteq ranchero" burrito and a bean and cheese. Horrible. If I could give this place 6 stars I would! Stopped here at a recommendation from a friend on our way home to San Diego. We are used to good Mexican food at home, so we are tough critics. My husband and all 5 if our kids loved it! We had the rolled tacos, the carne asada quesadilla and the bean and cheese burrito. All delicious! You do need to use their salsa if you like more flavor, but I think it's delicious both ways. Can't wait to be back in Yuma just to eat here again! read more

Bean and cheese burritos with the salsa: simple brilliance. Do not come to this place looking for a sit-down, gourmet, restaurant-type experience. This is fast food by and large. The ingredients are flavorful and just pop when you dip in the salsa - which is not more watery than thick. I personally don't care what the consistency of a salsa is as long as it tastes good and when combined with the burritos, it's perfect. read more

My wife loves their bean and cheese burritos and my 4 And 12 year olds enjoy rolled taco's as well. A staple of the Yuma diet for many. We ate at Chile Peppers on 3/18/2019 and this is our last visit for us...we ordered rice, beans and eggs in one plate. The idiot cash registrar told us they had no plates. I ordered one big burrito. The total was over $16,00. What a disgusting way to serve rice and beans jammed together in a cup; and the eggs also served in another cup. My wife almost had a heart attack of the way she ended up eating her breakfast...How embarrasing and disgusting was to eat from cups...We will never return to eat at this disgusting restaurant. read more

Delicious food. VERY busy. But the workers really know how to handle the rush of orders, especially around the lunch hour. I was told to try the bean and cheese burrito and it was better than expected! I tried the bean, rice, cheese (BRC) burrito too but I think the plain bean and cheese is better! The rolled tacos are also bomb! I mia sour cream and the salsa/hot sauce together as a dipping sauce. The quesadillas are huge and pretty good too. Any one who's been in Yuma longer than it takes to fill your gas tank knows Chile pepper and the withdrawals that come when you move out of town? Too many times, I was asked to transfer bean and cheese burritos across county and states lines. If Walter White expands in AZ you can be sure he will be transporting using Chile pepper.
