Billy and Emma of the Chimney Chiefs are fantastic! They were able to come out on short notice to get on the roof and clean the chimney cap. They have fair prices, are quick and all about safety, take before and after photos, and are super professional. I highly recommend using them to get your chimney cleaned, roof repaired, trees trimmed, and any other services they offer. They're great! I had another company come out recently who only cleaned the chimney from inside the house, failing to address the nearly completely clogged chimney cap. After burning fires for a month I started getting smoke backing up into the house. Billy is amazing. I found him via Yelp when I had an issue with my fireplace. He spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with me and offered to come by to look at the issue with no charge. Billy and Emma are the best. Every other chimney service was a month out but they fit me in 2 days out. The smoke was not going up the chimney and we couldn't make a fire which is a major heat source in our house. There was some type of blockage which was cleared by B and E. They answered my call, called me back to schedule a day and followed up with a text. Great communicators and very reasonably priced considering the work that they did! They worked hard, were very neat, respectful of our house and wore masks. Billy is a retired fire fighter so he was comfortable on our very steep roof. We found Chimney Chiefs through the business service One Ruf, (see my review), and we couldn't be more pleased with the results! Bill is a retired fire fighter, and he only uses retired and off-duty fire fighters as his crew, so they know what they are doing with your chimney! He was incredibly thorough with our fireplace, much more so than any other chimney sweep we've ever had do our fireplace. He not only cleaned out the chimney extremely well, and inspected it, he truly scrubbed both the inside and the outside of the fireplace itself, and even took apart the blower that we have in the fireplace, something no one else had ever done. We'd had trouble with sweeps in the past, closing the flue and not telling us, (what a disaster, we had smoke all through the house when we made our first fire of the season,) so he made sure to make sure the flue was open before he left, and he left everything spotless, looking like it was brand new, (as much as a 30-year-old fireplace can look). We were so impressed with him that we will gladly have him back again, and would highly recommend him to anyone who asks. He took his time with the job, so we know it was done right, and was careful to keep any dust or soot from coming into the house, even laying down tarps to walk on when he came into the house after working on the roof. I was charged $500 to clean chimney, chimney flue, and replace the spark arrestor. During the pre-work site visit, I was very clear that I need assurance and the main objective to do the work was to get my wood stove up to code so I can use it again. In reading the company website, it states "offering professional, trustworthy, and safe services" so I figured I was in good hands. In asking for documentation to prove wood stove was up to code after work was completed, Chimney Chiefs wouldn't provide it. So I decided to look for other professional opinions. It turned out the wood stove was too old and non EPA compliant which meant that the wood stove would never pass an inspection and would not be up to code. The only way to be up to code, would to replace the wood stove. You can imagine the disappointment I had to hear of this after spending $500 with the Chimney Chiefs especially knowing that they looked at the stove before they started the work. After trying to reach out to Chimney Chiefs a few times to speak with them, they never returned my call. Two stars is because while the cleaning did take place , I felt I was mislead from the start. My whole objective to do business with The Chimney Chiefs was to have a safe up to code wood stove and documentation that proved it. I question this business in their knowledge of codes and compliance. Other businesses similar to this one were able to identify by looking at the wood stove it wouldn't be up to code nor meet epa compliance. read more

Billy and Emma showed up on a very last minute call, we were in the middle of a home inspection to purchase when the inspector found a crack in the chimney, I called several local chimney companies-all were booked into December! When I called Billy (retired fireman) he happened to be working in a job 10 min away and agreed to come over and take a look (no charge) he called later that evening with a very reasonable bid to both repair and clean the chimney. Apparently, he also does Fire abatement clearance of trees/brush, we intend to use him for that as well. By the way, his employees are all firemen! The guys who do the inspections, so that's reassuring. read more

I cannot say enough about this company and owner Billy. We had our chimney cleaned last month by a company that has cleaned our chimney for the last 6 years plus. Was running great until a couple of days ago and whenever we had a fire the smoke would come back into our house not go outside needless to say we were not happy. When we phoned the company that cleaned our chimney just last month after hearing how smoke was coming into our house said it sounded like the cap but the soonest appointment he had was the end of January . We called Chimney Chiefs on Friday and Billy was at our house Saturday problem fixed. This company is so professional, quick and the best. I highly recommend The Chimney Chiefs. Hire them! Billy and Emma are fantastic. They went above and beyond on our chimney sweep, installed a new spark arrester and fire brick and gave us a quote to replace some loose screws in the roof. Billy did a great job with the old Chimney in our new-to-us home. Super easy and responsive scheduling, he came in and took care of everything, leaving the fireplace spotless.
