We would like to recommend Tahoe Chimney & Fireplace to any one who needs fireplace or chimney repairs done. Our Cabin fireplace in Tahoe City became smoky last winter. It must have been at least ten years since last cleaning and also the damper did not seem to work properly, so it also might have affected the smoke. I called around and was quoted approx. $ 400 - $500 for the new damper and $195 on top of that for chimney cleaning. Also noone wanted to do it over the weekend, since we only come up for the weekend in the Summer. Tahoe Chimney & Fireplace not only showed up on Sunday, but they offered a free estimate to repair the damper. In the end we spend only $159 for the chimney cleaning which included the Inspection, they also fixed my damper free (one new bolt or something)!!!. We also got a free spark arrestor for our top cap, and our fireplace door touched with some special heat paint, oh they also cleaned the whole fireplace of soot and ashes. All that for $159. They were on time, on a Sunday, did ot try to overcharge, and btw very clean and knowledeable. When they left our fireplace area was actually cleaner than we usually keep it. Very recommended!!!, great job. Also we received a book on how to burn wood safely. If you ask me, these fellows were actually fun to have at my house that day, my weekend was not ruined at all. Professional, Knowledgeable, Solves for the Customer, Responsive I had a problem with my Gas Fireplace lighting, which if I loose power in Prosser is my only heat source. I contacted Tahoe Chimney & Fireplace during a heavy snow storm in March'18 and they promptly contacted me and scheduled a time the very next day. Cameron was my technician whom was very professional and had the gas stove up and running in less then 15 minutes. Might I add, Cameron drove out to my house in the biggest snow storm of 2018. Also, he made a suggestion that I should update my remote to a wireless remote and this should be easier and solve any problems I may have in the future. I had not touched this stove besides turning it on for over 13 years. Another quick few minutes and I had a working stove with an upgraded remote. Super happy, thanks Tahoe Chimney & Fireplace. This time around, I needed help with a chimney issue at my rental in Kings Beach--a damaged and rusted-out chimney cap that was letting in snow and debris. From the first call, the team was responsive, friendly, and professional. They fit me into their schedule quickly, showed up right on time, and explained everything clearly. They even showed me photos of the old cap and walked me through their plan for the replacement. I have used Tahoe Chimney & Fireplace for quite a few years (not sure how many), but Patrick always serviced our pellet stove evry couple of years and always did an on spot job. This spring the old pellet stove gave out and was going to be very expensive to fix or replace. Patrick explained our options and we decided on natural gas as we are getting older and lugging wood or bags of pellets was getting difficult. Patrick recommended a Knightsbridge 35,000 btu gas stove. He took care of the old pellet stove and got the new one in and ready to connect. As soon as the plumber had the gas connected and live, Patrick and assistant were over that afternoon to connect it up. It has been over a week now, and we are very happy with everything about the stove. Patrick was very friendly from the beginning. The booking process was very smooth and organized. I was surprised at how high tech they are since most contractors I've worked with can be a little old school when it comes to communication. I received an appointment confirmation email within minutes from booking as well as a text message reminder on the day they came. They came out to clean two of my fireplaces, but ended up cleaning only one (because the other one was clean) and installed a spark screen that was missing. The service was very clean and professional and they left me with some fire-starter sticks as a free gift. After seeing the difference in the cleanliness of my fireplace I will now have this done every year by Tahoe Chimney & Fireplace. I am indeed a very satisfied customer!! read more

Truckee gets terribly cold in the winter, so having a working fireplace is absolutely essential. I was having trouble figuring out how to heat a small basement studio I have below my house. I called Tahoe Chimney & Fireplace at short notice, and they installed a gas fireplace, which heats the place perfectly. They were also able to install a remote control, making it super easy to heat quickly! Pat was very quick to respond, and the service was very professional. A week after the installation I misplaced the instructions to the remote control and gave them a call. Their technician Cameron arrived that very same day to re-teach me and my tenants about the operation.
