The work included removing the old flue tiles and throat damper, installing a UL-listed stainless steel liner with a lifetime warranty, insulating the flue, parging the smoke chamber, and installing a new top tile and top-closing damper system. Everything was clearly explained as they worked, which I really appreciated. The total cost was $5,400, which felt very fair for the amount of work, quality, and peace of mind we received. After he left I noticed the gas fireplace was not operating by the remote switch as it had been previously. I had asked for two receipts, one for the woodburning fireplace insert and another for the gas fireplace, which was promised to come by email. After a few days I tried to call Simple Sweeps to get the receipts as promised, but there was no response to calls or texts. A few days later, a heat exchange pipe fell out of the chimney of the fireplace insert while putting a log on the fire. I hope that this unfavorable review gets their attention and they contact me to correct the problems and provide me with the receipts I am entitled to.
