We had to reschedule due to the crazy winter weather but he came out ASAP and not only did maintenance on the chimney but also corrected errors made by the prior home owners that we weren't even aware of. For some unknown reason my chimney became the Match.com for woodpeckers in my cul-de-sac and was riddled with holes. HomeAdvisors.com gave me contact info on five chimney service organizations and I initiated an Request For Proposal (RFP) exercise. Some visited my home to build the estimate while others based their quote on digital photos I sent them. Corinna was great and very personable each and every time we spoke over the phone. James has the heart of a teacher and was very patient with me throughout the repair. Together we refined the scope of work and we agreed on a fair amount for service. They were right in the middle of the quotes (price wise) compared to the other outfits. My interaction with Corinna and James is what won me over. On the day of repair, James and Aaron showed up early and went right to work. I worked form home that day and at times I would stop and observe what they were doing. They took special care to control debris during demo, ensuring nothing fell into the pool. They worked throughout the day and I'm very, very pleased with the finished product. We went so far as to install preventative measures to reduce the chance of wood peckers returning to my chimney. Had an appointment with this company this past Friday. The tech never showed up, BUT, says he did. I work from home and have Ring doorbell and the guy never showed up. He even sent me a pic of my house....but it wasn't my house. The owner had a very non-caring attitude and when I tried to re-book, he refused to commit to a date...only saying...one day next week. I can only imagine that their work is just as bad as their customer service! read more

I had a sudden link this past stormy morning in my chimney and these wonderful folks called me back and came out the same day and were so honest. The larger problem they were afraid was happening wasn't there and they told me so. I ended up having them put in a protective guard on the roof to the fireplace and they cleaned out my dryer vent, which was horrible (they filmed what they did). Then they inspected my water heater and brought it up to code all at an extremely reasonable price and was all my choice. The owner spent over 30 minutes on the phone listening to my issue and educating me on what the problem might be and fit me in to the day's schedule. Their worker was fantastic! They are in Azle but service the Fort Worth and surrounding areas. I would never hesitate in using them again! read more

Excellent job by the owner James along with his assistant on a recent work done at my home. We called him for a Chimney Sweep. They showed up promptly and did an excellent job of inspecting and cleaning the Chimney. While they were here, they also fixed a PILOT issue with another Chimney at no extra cost. I have also got them to check Dryer vent and they cleaned that up for a nominal fee. Throughout the work, James represented well, found to be trustworthy, professionally conducted himself and completed the works thoroughly. read more

The technicians actually arrived early due to an opening and called in advance to let us know. They did a great job cleaning the fireplace and had good recommendations for improved operation. We took advantage of some, but not all of the reasonably priced additional services. Overall, I am happy with their service. read more

We had The Chimney Specialists come out to do some work. The person that came out was friendly and the work seemed fine. The appointment was at 11:00 am and they were a little late. Maybe half an hour. My husband was there to meet him and asked if payment could be arranged over the phone, since the home is actually my mother's, that way my mother could make payment directly. The repair person said that would be no problem and my mother would have made payment sometime today. Starting at around 6:00 that same evening (as in, 5 hours after the repair person left the home), the office manager and owner of The Chimney Specialists began calling and leaving messages, and less than 24 hours after services had been performed James Houston, owner of The Chimney Specialists had called the police to report non-payment. I immediately called and made payment for the services myself, since my mother had an appointment and couldn't call herself at that time and when I spoke to James he made excuse after excuse about why this kind of customer service was acceptable. He even accused me of "avoiding" his calls and intentionally attempting to not make payment even though the situation had been disclosed at the time of service. I understand that small businesses have narrow margins, but if you treat customers like James treated us, I can imagine that it gets more and more difficult every day to keep the business going. When I explained to James that we could have been repeat customers, he informed me that due to us "not paying" we would have been removed from their list anyway. As I write this review it is STILL less than 24 hours after time of service! Insanity! read more

Bought a Groupon to have them come out and clean our chimney. They were very thorough, cleaned everything extensively and didn't try to up sell us :) they were great and I will use them again!! read more
