The Chipp Inn, obviously! Even though I felt like an alcoholic ordering a bloody mary at 10pm on a Sunday, the awesome bartender did her best to cook something up without having all the ingredients. All the regulars welcomed us into the fold and told us to come earlier on another Sunday to partake in the cornicopia of delicious homemade goodness! On top of everything, the owner, who sat next to me and was obviously a little hammered, let me have several free drinks and was good conversation. This is basically everything you could ask for in a neighborhood bar. It's super close to where I live. It's relaxed and laid back. It's been around for EVER. The prices are reasonable. More than anything, it has a comfortable feel to it. I can't describe it very well, but I can say this... I picture this as a place the guys from The League would visit (and the show is based in Chicago, so who knows). They also have a pool table in the back room and a good jukebox. I don't live too far from here, but only just stopped in last Saturday evening and was reminded just how different Noble Square is from nearby Ukranian Village. The prices weren't THAT cheap, the place wasn't THAT divey and the bartender wasn't THAT nice. The crowd was light on the old drunk men and hipsters and heavy on the yuppies and their girlfriends. Excellent little local dive. Friendly bartenders, great prices. Most folks are drinking Hamms or other cheap domestic beer, but they have a few premium taps if you want to class it up. A funny recollection I have was one time after we ordered our second round of drinks, the bartender tossed a bag of potato chips our way and said, "Free buffet tonight." Another time I specifically stopped by to catch Jeopardy because I knew a contestant that was going to be on that day. I asked the bartender if we could put Jeopardy on in 5 minutes. As I drove back from the hospital visiting my dad and after finding out my grandfather had just passed, my brother and I decided to wait for my boyfriend at the Chip Inn. The crowd was not what I expected, and I suspect a birthday gathering was taking place at this small corner bar. I've lived in WestTown all my life even before it got somewhat gentrified. This local watering hole is one of the best bars in Chicago. If you don't want the pretentiousness of wicker park or buck town come to The Chipp Inn. Cash only, no food and a pool table, the bare essentials that people forget about. I'm quite a fan of this place. Very cheap drinks and great service. I was there on a Wednesday afternoon and being a recent new resident to the city, was made very welcome by the bartender and crowd. This is the type of place that you can feel comfortable starting, ending, or spending your night. The bartenders, Joe and Mark, are always friendly and never mind being bothered to answer your drunken questions or make a shot for you. I love the dive non-dive bar. It was clean and nice and the friendliest bartender ever! There is no food so you can order from surrounding places. And they are located off the main road on Greenview which gives it a really neighborhoody feel. My beer snob friends liked the beer selection and I liked the Sam Adams and the take out we got from local pizza place. There is a pool table too! They make you feel welcome and it is not pretentious as all. They are in a class of their own and thats a good thing! Okay I've been here twice and one occasion a 'jazz-hands' duo was strangely jamming out on a Tuesday night and the other time was on a Sunday afternoon and it was jammed with homo-erotic aggressive scumbags who had never seen a cute girl; so the jury is still out. Wow, i love it. this place is very nice. its very small. it has some bar seats and some tables and a little area to sit by the pool tables. some people would call that "cosy". ok. its on a little corner. wow, it has lots of pretty neon in the window. there's a variety of beer, especially hamm's which while i never want to drink it again in my life reminds me of the good ol' days in san francisco when my whole street would overrun Pop's for $1 Hamm's beer nite on wednesdays and if the chipp inn would have $1 hamm's beer nite i would go there for old time sake but only once. wow, i need to learn how to use commas and periods. whenever i go there it is not too crowded. and the bathroom is spectacularly dull but very clean. and the bartenders are really nice. and you can buy some little chips or peanuts or oke doke popcorn there. wow, i quit smoking this week but i think i negated that all by going to chipp inn. its ok, its a small place on a cold nite, i like it. wow i said too much. i like it but now is not the time for all you people to overrun my bar ;) its a secret! read more

After browsing Google reviews and Yelp, I saw several pictures of dogs in the bar and was excited for a nearby bar to bring my pup to for games. I was immediately told that they do not allow dogs in, despite there being many pictures to the contrary. I guess it doesn't explicitly state anywhere that they are dog friendly, but I get the feeling it was just for friends of the bar.
