We were told that the trip would take 4 hours and we planned the day around that. We are not experienced kayakers but we finished in just under 2 hours.... The trip was uneventful, a leisurely float. We saw a blue heron and some geese. If you are looking to kayak in a wilderness setting, this part of the river is not for you. Nothing against the company but in 2 hours we had to dodge upwards of 100+ people floating on tubes not to mention flotillas of other kayakers and canoers. And the end of the trip we had to wait 40 min to be picked up and be brought back to were we parked and the driver was speeding and had the radio blasting--not very professional. The tandem kayak we were in was in good condition, name brand although the paddles were cheap. The star rating here is due to inconvenient transportation setup and driver professionalism (or lack thereof)

Glamorous Camping AKA Glamping this memorial day weekend…read more This is the second time in a row we came here. The place is very peaceful with all the facilities of a service apartment. Furnished tents with fresh linens, kitchen stuff. Our tent had a full bathroom with stack of fresh towels, soaps and shampoos. It is a pet friendly place with swimming pool, volleyball and basketball ground, food truck good staff. Both the evenings of our stay, they had a concert and magic show for kids. Kids loved it. I am definitely coming back to stay in their nee Chalet cabins.

Also on a road so we pulled the car up to unload and load. Bath house was wise to hit right after they clean in the morning. Honestly not bad though. Never smelt and hot showers, just have to keep hitting the button. Tent was still a tent. Clean enough no bugs, no critters inside. Bed is rock hard, and pillows are tiny. I would def bring a mattress pad or air mattress and my own pillows next time. Linens were fine. We had extra blankets in case we were cold. Dishes and pots/pans are ikea quality and very well used. Did the job, we brought paper everything we could. Heater is on a 30 min timer. Did enough, I'm sure it gets real cold from now on. 2 outside chairs and picnic table provided. Having the propane burners was great. Coffee is a French press, we brought a small pot and worked great. Also nice to have the fridge for meats, used cooler for drinks. Kids enjoyed the pool and lake. Walked around and everything seemed close to facilities. Game room is pretty worn. Most things broken, missing pieces, and just thrown all around from previous use. Good truck was a fun novelty. Got pizza one night. Kids went and got a hot cocoa each night which was cute. Playground is small, but always had kids. Didn't see any bballs to use, very worn volleyball for the net. Due to Covid no activities running. Outside of Covid times not sure what they would have, as there is no big hall for bingo or games. No hayrides or arts and crafts, nothing like that. Had no issues after hours. Everyone respectful or quiet time. But! Lots and lots of road noise starting about 4am. Very loud trucks and def not sounds of nature. Basically the ikea of camping. It's cute, novel, fun. We planned our own activities, enjoyed the space, had fun.

The first few times we had large groups of people with us, all meeting up to go down the river together. They accommodated us the best they could and we did the rest. You can rent tubes, cooler tubes, dog tubes, kayaks, canoes and more. They provide you with a life jacket and ticket time to be ready for your shuttle. They then shuttle you to a drop off location along the mighty Saco River. They transport you, your tube, and all your belongings right to the drop off. You can choose the length of your trip upon purchase. There is a one mile, three mile, and five mile trip down river. You can choose to repeat the trip, as long as there is time before they close for you to do so. They open early, like 8 am and close at 5 pm. The river is beautiful, and varies in depth throughout the trip. There's plenty of beaches to stop and enjoy a packed lunch or a snack. Please stay off of any beach that says "private" as they are not part of the rental companies lands. There's a couple of rope swings to stop at, but remember, you're stopping with no liability on the rental company. They are not liable for much on these trips. You sign paperwork ahead of time, stating such. Their booth has some items you may need for the trip down river, such as waterproof bags, dry bags, phone bags, goggles, paddles, sunblock, sunglasses and more, of course all priced slightly up. I really enjoy renting and tubing with this company, they've got it down after all these years. Definitely a really fun thing to do during a hot summer day.

Travel 1.5 hrs Will recommend…read more Will return I used the Brooke to liberty Trail there are some very steep slab parts of the trail about 2 miles in I am not that experienced of a hiker and it was OK for me to do. I was intimidated looking at it but once I got my foot grip down, I was OK to continue. There are slippery spots due to being running water off of the mountain the views are breathtaking. The sounds of the babbling Brooks and the little waterfalls are beautiful. and just being in the woods there is just amazing. Everything is alive and I mean that by saying not lots of dead trees around I mean there is dead trees, but it's so much alive that you don't really see the dead trees. it's very dense woods. we did not take the trail that leads all the way to the top of Mount Chocorua (piper) we had a very challenging night the night before with our other tenants of the building so it was best that we had not done that without doing that we had a 7 1/2 mile hike had we included that it probably would've been a 9 mile hike. We took our time and had small 15 minute breaks and in total it took us about 6 1/2 hours, but it can definitely be done in four if you do straight hike up straight hike down. Going down liberty Trail. It was a little bit more wet and mushy because you're going down the mountain and the streams are running down mountain but I didn't care. I have hiking shoes that are intended to get wet so and you can find alternate routes through the woods if you choose to do so it still wouldn't deter me from coming back For the parking you do have to drive down what looks to be a snowmobile trail. Don't be afraid of that. Yes, there is parking enough of it directly where your GPS leads you. I hope you all enjoy your hike

So I packed up my dogs and we headed out on the road to finish the East Coast for me - Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. When I arrived at Chocorua Campground, Stephen helped me. I was after arrival time, and called the number. He came in his golf cart and led me to a parking lot. I had told him I get a little worried about driving on narrow parts, and he was so considerate. He asked me if it was okay if we went on the bridge to get to "the island." The cabins on the island are right on the water, and have no electricity, phone signal or wifi. I didn't know that when I signed up on the KOA website. I just saw they were on the water and clicked, "sign me up!" He mentioned that I could stay in a different cabin, probably, and it has electricity, its own bathroom and kitchen, wifi and phone signal. This would enable us not to go over that bridge to The Island. I jumped at the chance. It was a financial upgrade. We got me to my cabin and it was so nice! I had TV signal too! This is definitely glamping. There was a patio area with a table and chairs, a porch with chairs and tables for me to sit on. Sliding glass doors into my cabin. A living room with a TV and a kitchen table, a full kitchen (no dishwasher though), a room with bunk beds, a room with a queen sized bed, and a full bathroom. The beds had bedding on them, so I didn't have to use my sleeping bag. I was grateful to have pillows provided for me. I should have brought my pillow on my trip, but I forgot. One of our days there, we went to the dog park. it's a nice, big dog park! My dogs enjoyed the walk around the campground and they enjoyed the visit to the dog park. Lots of good things to sniff and experience! Another of our days there, we walked to the dog beach. My dogs weren't having it. They didn't want to go in the water. But they loved walking the trail by the dog beach. We had another good time with that walk too. We enjoyed our visit. It was relaxing. The staff was great. We had ants in our cabin and I told the gal at the store, and they will take care of the ants in the cabin.
