Found this gem by chance…read more Super friendly volunteer at the nature center. Nature center was fairly accessible l-short walk along a moderately decline. Very interactive at the trail board. Internet was spotty on the trail so I was glad I picked up a paper wildflowers guide. Folks along the trail were pleasant--lots of locals and out of state visitors. Saw casual family walkers from NY, hardcore borders complete with gear and binoculars and regular empty nesters/townies doing the loop with ease. Great trail markings and they even label the plants--and not just the trees!! Love love love that! The trail itself is definitely a more challenging "easy" trail. Winding along the "bog", most parts are raised with rough cut planks. Some parts were sturdier. Others were experiencing the watery effects. It was an old school experience. During the wetter season, I imagine this to be a fowl paradise while being a mud -fest for all two legged beings. In the darker months, leave enough time to make it around the pond without losing daylight. The unsure footing and dense trees Dogs and puppers must be on leash now. Completely understandable as the trail is mostly one-person wide. A jumpy pup could easily send you into the mucky bracken. If you want to go off leash hiking, try Quincy Forest Pasture a short drive up the mountainside.

Campground is gated and they give you a pass to get in. Off the main road so you may hear traffic during the day but it's super quiet at night. Close by to grocery store. The beach access was the highlight. The private access we had was amazing. The sand felt like it was imported from FL. We brought a canoe for the lazy river. They have horseshoes and a large bin full of play toys, bats, frisbee etc to use. Our site was spacious and private. Where we stayed a tree dropped purple berries and occasionally an acorn so you may want to expect acorns possibly hitting your car. Overall, our favorite campground!

I had the owners unplug my extension cords (on an electric site that I PAID for. I had my tent rummaged through, water dumped on my campfire, and was treated differently than the owners preferred guests. The bathrooms aren't well kept, the showers are metered and not well kept either. It smells like mold in some areas from other campers that are run down and need to be removed. Not a horrible place to stay but not my first choice. Pricing was also changed during my stay and was way more than should have been. You could lay the same price at a different camground that has all the amenities and clean restrooms and showers.

My favorite campground in New Hampshire! This is the place to get away from RVs and trailers and…read moreloud noises. OK there are a few spots for groups and you could probably get an RV and trailer up there, but I have yet to see it. The campsites here all have the basics for tent camping: picnic table, fire pit/grill, peace and quiet. Most of the sites are spaced far apart so that you don't turn your head and make eye contact with a neighbor. Some of them are almost completely isolated, and a few have lean-tos (you're near the Appalachian Trail after all). The fire pits are kind of annoying though, they're basically three-sided iron boxes with sliding grates on top. You'll stay warm and can easily cook on them, but not everyone is going to have a great view of the fire. There is garbage on site, pit toilets, potable water, and lots of hiking nearby. In fact, the hiking is probably one of the biggest draws. You could get a spot here and then hike to one of the other campgrounds in the national forest (those are obviously hike-in only), or just spend a few hours in the forest. We saw lots of moose droppings, but no moose. Maybe your luck will be better than mine. The river is nearby and there are several parks and access points to get to it. I saw quite a few people fly fishing last time I was here. You've got to drive to Maine to get here, and then head about 5 miles along a dirt road to cross back into NH. Stock up in nearby Gorham and bring plenty of firewood. You'll want to stay at least two nights, and you'll definitely want to come back.

She stopped to asked the locals where to find moose and spoke endlessly about the types of trees in NH. No moose were spotted at all even after a desperate mosquito infested walk through the woods (yes, we had bug spray but it didn't make a difference). We were told "plan B" was to drive up and down the same highway at midnight to see if the moose were out. This was a surprise for my husbands birthday, It was a surprise for both of us! This was a complete waste of time and money.

Lucy met us in the morning and we went straight to the river. It was such a gorgeous and enjoyable ride and she was so pleasant and relaxed the whole way through. She gave us some simple tips on kayaking and also some nice information on some of the wildlife and history of the area. When we reached Lake Ossipee the wind was very strong which made the lake very choppy and her lead was so assuring in the challenge that lay ahead of us - she was awesome and we made it to the other side of the lake without any issues whatsoever. I would highly recommend Lucy if you want to experience a great day outdoors in the White Mountains

And its partnership with Indy Pass has opened up a new ski mountain to new people who can now experience its beauty and customer service ethos. The reception area has been redone with self service kiosks and an Indy counter. New bag holders and an information booth complete the downstairs. On top, a new bar and a beautiful cafeteria complement the resort. Yes, the slow lifts are still there. But the slopes have something for everyone. From steeps to the old New England type narrow and winding ski runs with cross trails, to beautiful green runs for beginners. All in the midst of natural beauty. It is truly a pleasure to be here. And the best part is the people. The staff is amazing. From the ticket attendants, to the lift personnel, to groomers, to the cafeteria and the superb pub, Tenney is one amazing place devoted to customer satisfaction. And mmmm... Another best part. You can REALLY relax here and pursue the sport, whether skiing, boarding or tubing. Unlike other areas where I feel I have to have eyes in the back of my head looking for out-of-control Jerry's, Tenney gave me the feeling of pure enjoyment. We absolutely had no worries about someone careening into us, or bump their way into the line. It was just a superb ski experience. We will be here again.
