Athens is insanely fortunate to have this facility and the staff that run it. The Classic Center is a model of hospitality. We have seen countless concerts here such as Willie Nelson, Clint Black, The B52s, and Love Tractor. The Classic Center brings a series of Broadway shows to Athens. Every year! The economic impact of the Classic Center is enormous for Athens. It's positive effect on hotels, restaurants, artists and auxiliary services is an incredible boon to our community. There is a world class hanging artwork in the atrium and there is art along the walls inside the Classic Center (featuring numerous local artists). Also, the Classic Center is a triumph over short sighted and self serving local politicians. Despite several commissioners being opposed to the hundreds of jobs that are created by the CC and its dynamic economic impact, it is the center of culture and conferencing in Athens. We cannot wait until the Arena is finished in 2024. Bigger names in entertainment will be able to play in Athens and more varied sporting events can be seen there.

It's a basic convention center with some nice architecture. It's small so navigating throughout the center to find your designated areas is really simple. You don't really need a map at all since the signs are spot on and direct you exactly where you need to be. The bathrooms upstairs are fine. Don't go to the bathrooms downstairs. They're gross and unkept. When you walk ing, it seems like there are about a fifty stalls left and right. But start checking each one of them out, and they all had poop in them. Why?? The service was good and the complimentary breakfast they served was simple and good. The egg casserole was delicious. The water cups are so tiny. They are slightly larger than shot glasses. The layout of the center is spacious and again, easy to navigate. It's good for small-to-medium sized convention. There's lot of big windows everywhere. Natural light always feels good in a busy meeting place like this.

Love this venue when I go to see my UGA ice dawgs! Always clean and wonderful customer service. The only thing I wish they had more beer selection and the pretzels were not hard as rocks and the popcorn had flavor.

Awesome venue!

FIRST THINGS FIRST! When visiting the city for the first time, a stop at The Classic Center is a great first step. Here you will find the visitor's center where you can obtain brochures and information regarding upcoming performances and things to do in the area. This is also a really large space for conferences and other events. As you enter the building, there is a wall to your immediate left that holds brochures and to your slight right, you will find the receptionist desk, (not in today), where you can obtain additional information. On the lower level of this building is an indoor ice rink that can be assessed by the indoor escalators. This was a popular area today! I love the casual seating and viewing screen that advertises certain events and activities. My husband and I actually sat in this area to review our brochures and to plan our tour. Don't even think that you can park here as there were literally five spaces, two blocked by orange cones and three occupied. Simply use the on street parking and walk. This is a very spacious and beautiful building. I especially love the carpet and very clean bathrooms. I look forward to returning and actually attending a performance at the theater next door. Cool!

Nice atmosphere, clean and roomy location, very well ventilated and maintained. Need one more escalator but we did well with what we had.

The holidays were upon us and when we thought of fun activities to do as a family, the one thing…read moreeveryone could agree on was ice skating! We looked up different places and Have An Ice Day had the best online presence, and was geographically attractive for all parties in attendance. Conveniently located in downtown Sugar Hill, we had no issues finding parking and making the short walk over to the ice skating area. We waited in a very short line and were able to make payment and immediately obtain our ice skates. We didn't have to travel far to swap our feet out of our shoes for the ice skates, and we were steps away from the rink. There was plenty of seating all around for those who would rather watch than brave the ice. The area was clean and hand sanitizer was strategically placed and never far away. The rink itself was well kept and easy to glide across. There were many families and all were grooving to the music. When we needed to take a well deserved break, we decided to order snacks from the concession area. The snacks were affordable and the folks were very friendly. We stayed for several hours and while there were many people there, we felt it was never overcrowded. When we finally finished, we returned our skates and headed up the stairs in the amphitheater area of downtown Sugar Hill to grab dinner. We made lots of memories and took plenty of great pictures. We hope to go back next year!

Family and I had a chill afternoon skating at Have an Ice Day!…read more We got there midafternoon, and it wasn't crowded but as it got later into the evening the place definitely got packed! So recommend arriving late afternoon if possible on the weekend! On site, they have a concession stand in which the kids enjoyed the hot chocolate to warm up! They also had nachos, chips, etc. The rink is well maintained and smooth, which I appreciate! The staff took 30min break removing all skaters while they maintained the rink and we were able to return after. Staff was attentive and skated around to help those that fell! Only dislike is the the skate trainers they offer which was metal, low and not too supportive for my little one! We'll definitely be back! Had a great time!

We were there for 4 hours and there was a steady flow of people of all ages the whole time. The staff is very friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. There was also a DJ that got there around 5 and he was great too! He was willing to play songs that we suggested even though he had his own mix to play. They also played tag a few times and a couple of employees hopped into the game too, it was great! The staff were also very interactive with the kids. While skating, I noticed that it looked like a piece of the skate was missing and when showing it to an employee he immediately had me take them off and provided me with a new pair--no questions asked. The facility was clean and well organized, it included a skate rink, arcade, jungle gym, food, and laser tag-- I will definitely return. Just a heads up, you have to pay admission and show rental separately, but they have a lot of events and deals. For me and my siblings, it totaled to about $44.

One of the great things about…read moreAthens-so much talent because of the University and the music culture-and this is a great venue to enjoy both drama and musical theater at a reasonable price. It's an all- volunteer venture, providing lots of opportunities to spend an enjoyable evening watching or participating in the events. It's not a large theater, so all the seats have a good view of the stage. The sound system and lighting are fine. Parking- limited, so go early. Location-just a block or so off a main thoroughfare (Prince Avenue) Behind one of the beautiful old white mansions -but watch for the small sign on Prince -it's easy to miss. There is free (good) coffee (provided by a local favorite, Jittery Jie's coffee) and a tiny concession stand.

And I have to say, this is probably one of my favorite places in all of Athens. I really like Town and Gown. It's sad that not more college students take the opportunity to go here, and act or direct or just generally have a good time helping or watching the shows. As it is, I know with the tragedy of what happened at the beginning of the summer, the people are tighter than ever, and it has only strengthened their resolve. $5 for sitting anywhere in the theater just can't be beat. The theater is small (and I wish it was bigger) but the fine quality of the acting really just makes this place a treasure for Athens. GO, get involved, and enjoy this place that I hope stays in Athens forever. 5 Stars well earned.
