We were concerned about continuing to use The Cleaning Authority after learning about Covid-19 and asked what measures they were taking to ensure our safety. We were told that starting with your next cleaning (around the 24th of June) not only will our crews be wearing masks, but gloves as well. This was what we were told by the area manager from The Cleaning Authority. We notified them that Wednesday, the 8th of July, was the last time we'd be using them. Two stars is all they deserve. I've made it clear on more then one occasion we need advanced notice because of the dogs. Have we gotten it? Nope, call from the driveway saying, "We're here." This time made them wait till we got the dog's settle. After letting them in (only two versus usual three) didn't notice until they came downstairs that they weren't wearing gloves. When I mentioned it they quickly scrambled to find them and put them on. I wanted to throw them out then as obviously our health and safety wasn't at the top of their list. I did go back up and sanitized the areas I knew they'd been. They unplug things to use the socket for their vacuums that need to be left in to recharge and don't plug them back in. We have numerous lower wall sockets, so can't understand the need to use those on the counter. There was a lot more that they failed to do, did a hasty job of the task or not at all. Each time I've called and notified the area manager. The last two times she never even called me back. Seems they cannot follow, or fail to pass on, simple requests/instructions. The Cleaning Authority is trying to establish themselves here in Kent County, so my husband and I were willing to try them. Especially since he was having shoulder replacement surgery and wouldn't be able to help out like he usually does. The first two cleanings went well, but downhill after that. One would think they'd be eager to keep our business and get a good recommendation. Got the impression from the person I spoke to this last time, that didn't matter to them one way or another. The service is inconsistent at best. The teams are very nice and friendly, but vary from two to three members. They need to pay more attention to detail - cleaning knobs on the stove and then replacing them incorrectly, leaving a wet mop on a rug, leaving lights on in a room, and failing to empty trashcans that are in plain sight. When we called to let them know this last time, we were told someone could come back and go over missed areas but what's the point of that? We want to let prospective clients know - do not waste your time if you want a truly clean house. The Cleaning Authority is a big disappointment.
