I have been working with this location for almost one year now. I moved from Chicago to Duluth into an apartment, and needed to find a company I could work with so that my place was cleaned once a month. I called for an estimate, and Donna (owner) came out and spoke with me about what the cleaning would entail and the process moving forward. I worked with Tiwana about scheduling a monthly visit and what my expectations can be moving forward. Initially I had a couple different teams clean, so I felt like I was looking for more consistent service. Spoke with Donna and Tiwana, they assigned a permanent team to manage my monthly cleanings. Perfect solution, and I was grateful that they had flexibility with my expectations. I am leaving the area, and so I sadly am no longer going to use this branch of TCA- but the app and recurring payment system is so easy to use, reminders about when the teams would come and clean- everything is user friendly. I will miss using this group and location very much. I have them doing my move out clean in 13 days. I am confident I will have a shiny looking place when I have the walk out inspection, not even a small concern of mine. This is an independently owned branch. Two years ago I was singing the praises for this company. I recently recontracted them and there is no singing. This time I experienced a homophobic attitude from a cleaner who then didn't do her job. I received a rediculous $25 credit for the situation no matter how many times I brought the subject up. The new team has not been addiquitly doing there job. After the initial cleaning that cost some $550 where things were missed, there are still some areas that have not been cleaned. Owner Donna Cosello just refunded fees collected from previous cleaning . No questions asked . 1 star for getting my money back . 3 Cleaners claimed that they vacuumed , dusted , scrubbed for 2 hours but according to our Nest and Ring recordings : only half of the kitchen floor was mopped on her way out and a lady cleaner also caught on camera just standing in the sun room corner with a duster and left the room in 12 seconds and did it twice ! Upstair guest bathroom was untouched cleaners probably realized no one uses it so , why bother clean it ? This is just one of the days they cleaned ... they managed to scratch our range and stainless sink from previous cleanings . Broke a glass of face cream and eventually replaced it . On the last day , cleaners skipped all their areas of rotation for the day . Its such a relief to know that they quit instead of me firing them . I just didn't have the heart to do it 4 cleanings ago thinking that people need their jobs especially these days . It was a bit too much of a bad cleaning experience for me . The communication is consistent and well planned, they accommodate changes well (even in the midst of the pandemic!), and I have an amazing team, Keosha and Shika, who come and do an excellent job every time! I have been using The Cleaning Authority for almost a year now. Their system of cleaning has worked well and I am very happy with the service. They work within my schedule and accommodate me when needed. The service is consistent, orderly and they do not get in my way. They are also very nice to our cats when they visit. Delores and Red are personable, friendly and very hard working. But most importantly, they do a good job in a reasonable amount of time. They don't mess around. They get in clean and head on out. Used their service for 5 months. Live in a 1000 sqft apartment and was charged $90 per month. The company cleaned on a rotation, 1/2 the apartment a month then the other 1/2 of the apartment the following month. Service was not what they promised, did not clean everything as stated in their brochure they give out. Donna, Brittany, Jennifer, Kayla do great work. Priscilla and Stephanie are not good cleaners. Also it should be noted that during one of their visits I left the apartment before the cleaning crew showed up, and was back to the apartment 45 mins later. The cleaning crew had already showed up and cleaned. Which was not a good service and not worth $90. read more

We used this company for over a year, when we recently emailed the owner to remind the cleaning crew to complete their cleaning requirements we received an email from the owner complaining about us (she accidentally replied to our email instead of forwarding it to her employees). They were fired immediately. If we can't trust the owner of the company ... we would never give her or her employees access to our home. BEWARE! read more

I really wanted to like this service because the owner seemed nice. A few issues - you never get the same people twice so things are done differently every time. When I requested the same people, they came most of the time but not always. The worst was we had money stolen out of a large container where we were saving coins. We may not have noticed but we had just filled it and were about to cash it in. The owner basically continued to insist that it wasn't her cleaners and there had to be someone else in our house. She did reimburse us for the cleaning but would not reimburse us for the stolen money. read more

Red and Delores are excellent and efficient cleaners. They communicate well during the cleaning, working jointly to make sure all tasks are completed. They arrive on time and usually they are done in less than 1 1/2 hours. They are always friendly and will ask questions if they encounter something new. We had our home cleaned 3X's- @ biweekly. I e-mailed to complain and they said they would send someone. They didn't send anyone. They aren't good cleaners, they aren't flexible and horrible customer service. They aren't very flexible - we got married and didn't want to have the house cleaned while we were on our honeymoon (post wedding clutter)- they weren't willing to change our schedule. So we cancelled the cleaning and accepted that we would need to skip that service. While on my honeymoon I hurt my back (CLEANING the beach house on our last day) and I was literally laid up on the couch for a week - so we needed to cancel again. I didn't want to, but my husband wasn't able to clean from post wedding and post honeymoon clutter...the house was a mess! So they charged us $25 - which I understand. When they came out on the next scheduled visit - I was so exicted! It was the week for attention to Kitchen where they wipe window seals, appliances, furniture.... Well, the top of the stove/oven was clean, but the front of it wasn't wiped down. You can tell because I have stainless appliances- there were drippings! Finger print smudges all over the cabinents, window seal had dust and the pantry door hadn't been wiped. I e-mailed to cancel my service and Donna explained that, "Sometimes it is difficult for us to maintain a home in the way we've promised when cancellations occur, and I do note that we have not been in your home for 6 weeks, even though you are a bi-weekly customer. " I am not sure what wiping down the front of the stove or wiping finger print smudges off cabinents has to do with 6 weeks.... By the way, they never followed up on their offer to send someone to review their work.. I paid $103 for that cleaning!!!! My advice - just stay away. read more

I've had my first two cleanings and I'm very, very pleased. It's a great value, and these ladies get down and scrub. It's so freeing to not have to deal with this every weekend. Only improvement I can think of is in the dusting as we have 3 animals in the house so it's kind of a losing battle... read more

I have had way too much trouble with the administrative side of this company. I had 2 services and thought what they had cleaned was a good job, but that's not the problem. They can't get there paper work straight over there. They tell you the first two cleans will have certain things done, but they varied from what it said, leaving me a paper with what was done different things than expected. They told the crew to not even do one of my entire levels of the house, when they were supposed to. Told me I could use the coupon in the mail after two visits, but after I hired them, it was four visits. Left me a paper bill for $105 and then made my online bill $145. It's been 2 weeks and I still can't get it sorted out. I hardly ever do reviews, but I am so frustrated that I can't get this stupid payment done so I can be done with them. They take days to respond. read more

The worst. First phone called received was to start the initial quote. They shouted into the phone "(Name) CLEANING AUTHORITY". I thought it was a prank call as the lack of professionalism when trying to reach a client. Second phone call was the exact same. They said they had an appointment that was schedule - there was no appointment scheduled as we were not going to use them after they came for the quote. The woman was talking to someone else. I had to prompt questions to finally figure out what she needed. She then proceeded to hang up on me. I tried to call back to ensure that they were not going to be going to our home and my phone call was blocked. WORST SERVICE!!! DO NOT USE! TCA has usually done a fairly good job. It really depends on who you get. You have to be in the house the whole time to make sure they clean thoroughly. They give you a rotation list, but they do not do all the items on that list--only the major ones. They never clean baseboards or wipe window sills, which are on the list. The do not dust the knick knacks--but they might dust around them. So basically, they mop the floors, vacuum rugs (not the edges) make the beds, wipe off the large surfaces, and stage the room nicely. The cleaners get paid poorly and have to bring their own supplies so we try to tip them. read more

Terrible. Scheduled a visit for a quote; no show. They then showed up unannounced the next day saying they had called to reschedule. I had no missed calls & certainly hadn't spoken to them. Their prices are very reasonable but you get what you pay for. The 'deep cleans' were below par for what I would expect for a weekly service & my first regular scheduled clean was terrible. They didn't clean the master bathtub at all, (sticky soap rings in evidence), the fridge still had fingerprints all over the front, there were pet footprints on the leather couch, (which I particularly pointed out) there was food stuck to the kitchen table, the power room floor was not swept or vacuumed, (although the rug had been vacuumed & replaced on the dirty floor) so wouldn't have been mopped either. On top of that, they forgot their vacuum cleaner, used ours & broke a piece off it! I had company coming later so needed to run errands & left them to clean. They had gone when I returned leaving a receipt stating 'powder room & bathroom floors given extra attention, window sills hand wiped & cabinets hand wiped.' The cabinets nor the window sills had been wiped, (sills were dusty, cabinets dirty & dusty) & the powder room floor wasn't even vacuumed. I'm not house proud & not really bothered about the sills, whether my floors are shiny or my toilet tissue is folded to a certain style etc. What I do expect when I hire a cleaner is that they actually clean what they are contracted for, bring the required equipment and do not break ours. I had to spend an hour cleaning before our company arrived that day due to the terrible job The Cleaning Authority team 5 had done. read more

The very first cleaning they did not dust one of the nightstands in the master bathroom and did not vacuum the stairs. Yes they dusted the blinds but never bothered to put them back in place. Third cleaning was a total disaster, they didn't clean the master bathroom well. No they do not clean the tile grout or anything else. When I complained and they agreed to send out a manager after the 3rd cleaning, I got an email to try to set up an apt and never got a phone call. I don't check my emails on a timely basis so it was late in the evening when I saw that they wanted to come out the day they sent me the email. I responded that this was very unprofessional as someone should have called me and I would have been available for an inspection of my home. I responded to the email to terminate my service. The only positive thing about their cleaning is the vacuuming, it was very good after the first cleaning. I was informed that the products they use are hypo-allergenic but those products do not clean very well. By the way I could never tell if the floors in the kitchen or bathrooms were ever mopped. I am so disappointed in this cleaning service and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Am still using this company, but have problems nearly every cleaning. The very first day, they didn't even show up. Should have taken that as a sign to get someone else. Although scheduled to arrive between 12:30 and 2:30, last time they didn't show up until 4:30. I turned them away because who wants a cleaning crew in your home when you are trying to prepare dinner? Not only that, but if they show up late, they rush like mad so they can get home to their families. There is a lack of consistency between cleaners and you never know who you are going to get. Some take one hour to clean and some take two. With the ones that take one, you have to go around the house and show them what they missed (didn't clean a bathroom), for example. The office staff never take phone calls (just get voice mail) and I have not gotten responses to some of my emails. Although this cleaning service is supposed to make our lives easier, we have had considerable stress because of it. If you are not going to be home when they clean, I would not hire this service. If you are home, you had better check everything before they leave or be prepared to finish the cleaning by yourself. read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! I won a raffle at work for a free 2 hr house cleaning from the Cleaning Authority in Duluth. It was donated to support a charity that my company sponsors year round. I was presented a gift certificate for the prize. I called to schedule, and was told they had no one and they were very busy, but would try to work me in the month of November. They finally got me on the schedule for Saturday 11/12. They did not finish cleaning, but that was expected as there were only 2 of them and I did not want them to go over the 2hrs. (They also had a young boy in the car waiting for them finish). Well fast forward to today 11/16, I was left a threatening voicemail from "Tawanna" stating that my gift certificate was fraudulent, that I needed to call them back or :"they would do whatever it takes to recoup the money as we know who the actual owner of the house is, your address, and your phone number" her words verbatim. She then repeated that this certificate was fraudulent and they would take action! Instead of speaking with me directly or leaving a normal vmail to simply call them back and discuss the situation, she threatened "to do whatever it takes to get their money for the time". I was extremely offended and angered so I went to discuss with the person here who solicited their donation. She was also appalled and shocked at how unprofessional and threatening Tawanna was. Now, this has bubbled up to the CFO of our company who sits on the charity board in which we were sponsoring. I would encourage anyone considering them, not to! Very unprofessional, I am still waiting to hear back from the owner. read more

Awful! Avoid this business at all cost. Their staff broke items in my home, did a poor job of cleaning even basic items, would often be found in rooms I did not ask to be cleaned, and were often late for their scheduled times. What's more - many weeks we would not receive any notice of when we were scheduled. The cleaners would just "show up" at our door. We have been using their services for about a year. After every monthly cleaning, I always noticed a few minor things that could have been better, but never complained. After one of the last cleanings we had done, our bedroom cleaning was horrible. The dusting had not been done, and the vacuuming was not good (dog hair still very noticeable). I'm sure there were other issues, but that was all that was complained about. They gave partial credit and came out a month later. After this cleaning, we critiqued the cleaning more closely and needless to say, it was not any better. I ran our vacuum (Shark Rotator, excellent vacuum) in the master bedroom after their cleaning and got 2 full canisters (bag less) of dirt and dog hair. I also wiped the kitchen floor (approx. 20 sq. ft.) with a clean white rag with just hot water and got a tremendous amount of dirt and residue on the rag. I did not have to see or check anymore. Sad thing is their quality person was there that day and checked the job. I talked with her and the owner for follow up, but was basically blown off. Beware how you spend your hard earned money!! You will not get your money's worth with this company. read more
