I find Jim's comments below defamatory and not true. I am not using an illegal entity I hired a private firm to do my cleaning for me. Jim never admits fault only pushes blame back on the customer. 1) Blinds never wiped down only quickly dusted with a rag. 2) Coffee table and end table quickly wiped down nothing on top of tables moved or rearranged . 3) Counters in kitchen quickly wiped down Need I go on? read more

I have been using The Cleaning Service for almost a year. They typically send out a team of the same people every time, which I appreciate. The women who clean my home are always kind and trustworthy. A cleaning for my 2000 sq ft. Home takes around 1.5-2 hours - the perfect amount of time as I work from home (and now with Covid the whole family is home.) The cleaning itself is good. The crew comes every other week which is just right for us. They're also very accommodating of schedule changes and requests. For example, when I've had guests visiting from out of town they've been able to fit in schedule changes. They've been really professional in response to COVID precautions. Masks are always fully on when the cleaners are in our home. Finally, I like that the owner pays his cleaners a good and fair wage. read more

Cleaning crew was late or there was some miscommunication on arrival time for my first cleaning appointment. The cleaners arrived and sat in their car in front of my door vaping for 15 min. I was in my kitchen and waved to them as they were already late. They made eye contact but stayed and continued to vape in their car. I had already notified the owner that this was happening. Mind you it's not the vaping - could have been smoking whatever or even just ignoring me drinking coffee... it's the lateness, miscommunication, disorganization and the bad work ethic displayed by these two women. I walked out and told them to not come in as I felt that what I already witnessed was reflective of the cleaning job that I was about to pay for. Bad work ethic crew is not something I have time or money for. Called another company to do the job. I disagree with the owner's statements below as I called him while they were sitting in my driveway and spoke to him regarding what was going on. His below statements are not accurate as I spoke to him regarding their behavior before I called him the second time to tell him that I was turning them away. The team was unprofessional in their behavior and I will not do business with that. Hire better and have more accountability. It seems that I'm not the only negative review so I should have checked Yelp before I booked them. read more

This franchise has cleaned my home for my Mom for a few years. They do a light dust and "green" clean which means not very thorough. Recently my mom died so I asked if they could provide a deep clean, very thorough and I set my expectations as it needed look great to sell the home. I asked up front is this "deep clean" something they can do. Up front, the owner stated he knew what I meant and the difference between my mom's normal light duster type clean and the deep clean I needed. The girls he sent did a terrible job, When I inquired in the dusting type clean, the lead girl stated they don't clean walls, the light switches had hand marks still on, they don't use cleaning supplies and cob webs remained in the couple of rooms they did clean. I kicked them out after 2 hours. Very unprofessional, particularly when I asked up front if they could perform a deep clean. Hire them for light dusting and vacuuming but nothing else. read more

Absolute garbage company. The owner will meet with you, act like this is the most professional company in the world - he'll even show you a brochure with perfect looking cleaning ladies HAH! That's the opposite of what i got. White trash shows up to the doorstep, in their pajamas and slippers (I'm not kidding) they're listening to rap cleaning my bathroom & laughing taking videos of each other. The brochure he gives you also comes with a checklist of everything that they will do. Expect 25% of it done (with an attitude, ESPECIALLY if you ask them if they got it done or not.) They WERE very good for about 1 year, so good I even recommended them to my friends! Then they started to send random cleaners to my home that clearly didn't want to be here. A myriad of rooms were barely touched - including our master bath and kitchen!! I texted Jim to let him know that the new girl they sent was awful (to which my normal gal apologized for her incompetence prior to her leaving!!) to which he replied that was my last cleaning and we were no longer on his schedule. If they just continued to send me the same team, this wouldn't be an issue. Sam and Tiffany ARE FANTASTIC and take pride in their work. Everyone else seemed annoyed, including the owner, Jim. I say good riddance to the most EXPENSIVE cleaning service I have ever used. read more

The sleek literature I received in the mail was full of promises about the highly detailed nature of the cleaning I could expect from this company. Oh, how wrong I was! When I arrived home from work after the first clean provided by them, I found circumstances that caused me to make a page-long list of basic cleaning that had not been done. We are talking basic, normal things like greasy fingerprints not being wiped off the front of the microwave, a bathroom floor not being swept, shower tile not being washed, garbage cans not being fully emptied, and shelves not being dusted. My list had over 30 undone items on it. I will give them this: they came back the next day and remedied all of the issues. However, here's the icing on the cake. I received a phone call the day after telling me that, because I had such a long list of complaints about what THEY had done wrong or not done at all, we would not be a "good fit" as customer and business. So, apparently I am not allowed to point out to them that they did not complete the service for which I paid them over a hundred dollars or they would terminate me as a customer. Um, if you DO YOUR JOB the way it is supposed to be done, then I won't have to complain! Just because I have a standard of my home actually being completely clean doesn't mean that I, as a customer, should be penalized. It means that YOU, as a business, need to up your performance so that people do not have to write page-long lists of things that were not done correctly or done at all. I'm still in shock that someone in the service industry would basically "fire" me for expecting the service for which I paid. I would NOT suggest people use this "service" if they have any standards for the cleanliness of their homes because they certainly can not give feedback if their standards are not met and still expect the company to come back and clean again. This is hardly how a company in the service industry should operate. I am highly disappointed in Cleaning Authority West Bloomfield. read more

I used this service for a little over a year. Everything was great and I loved them until they started sending different girls each time. They would then miss entire rooms and I even had a very expensive hair straightner stolen from my home and the owner didn't do anything to fix that situation. read more

Used this cleaning service for several months, however despite repeated complaints to the owner directly, and specific notes to cleaning staff regarding items being missed, cleaning crew did a poor job. Rooms were "spot" cleaned, never fully cleaned. I would not recommend this service at all! read more

We love TCA! Jim and his team have always been super accommodating. We recently had to put a hold on services and make some last minute requests (we had to cancel a cleaning within a day or 2), due to us moving to a new home and the hiccups that come with home buying! Jim was very understanding and happy to accommodate us. Honestly, the cleaning was the smoothest transition of the whole move! The ladies have also been helpful with suggestions of cleaners for issues our house(s) has/have experienced (rust, stainless steel smudges, etc). They are even kind enough to let our dog out in our fenced in yard during their visits. All of our requests have been honored. I used to clean houses myself and think they do a wonderful and thorough job. Keep up the great work! read more

I truly do not understand any of these negative reviews. I have had various cleaners for over 40 years, and have been satisfied or very pleased with some, and not so much with others. The Cleaning Authority meets all of our needs, and then some. We are now gone quite often, and to have a business, rather than a separate person, works well for us. Jim adjusts readily to our times gone and our times returning. We don't have to worry about an individual person losing pay, and we also don't have to get so personally involved that things get truly sensitive at times. Jim and his staff are professional; his cleaning teams are thorough, positive, upbeat, and organized. Jim is responsive and always works with us to accommodate us when we make requests. Our cleaning team, headed by Brittany, is pleasant and trustworthy and do a great clean job! We have had another team, headed by Amanda, and I can say exactly the same thing about this team, which speaks well to how Jim trains and manages all his staff. I read about them in a local Facebook group, they came, did an initial interview where they claimed they would clean the windows to the baseboards. Not a single thing was done well at all. They sent two very tired, lazy girls that barely spot cleaned my home. They give you a pamphlet with at least 25 things that they include in their initial clean, I also wrote out a secondary list to make sure that the certain amount of items I needed done we're done. I just asked that the kitchen floor and the bathroom floors be washed, the stairs up and down were vacuumed. They did not even clean the toilets out. They left a sink full of dishes. And did not empty the garbage. Extremely disappointed. And as mentioned earlier in another review, once they called and asked how everything was, I let them know how disappointed I was. To which they replied we would not be a good fit for them, or we should've had three girls come instead of two. They were not clear on their pricing, and they did not take direction well. I would've paid top top dollar to make sure that I had a clean home. That was just not the case, their level of clean and my level of clean just don't seem to match. I might update this review tomorrow if I get a call back from Jim. However it won't take away from the fact that I recently hired this company and after the second cleaning I noticed that two of my necklaces were missing. I just moved here from Pittsburgh. I unpacked my jewelry two days ago and no one has been in my house except for the three cleaning girls. I called Jim's personal number that he gave me and left a message but he hasn't returned my call. One of the necklaces missing was given to me this past Christmas by my daughter. It was a cross with the birthstones of my seven grandchildren on it. I called and left a tearful message on Jim's voicemail. If I don't here from him tomorrow, I will file a police report. Sadly though, the girls did an amazing job cleaning, its just that one of them is a thief. I'll never use another cleaning service. Ever! read more

I received the same rude service that Jeanette P. wrote about in her review. We used the service for about a year and recently moved. I asked about a reschedule since the girls were late and let him know that I had been unhappy with the service. Jim proceeded to "fire" me and told me we were terminated and he did not want our service. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. I have never been treated so poorly from a business owner. I let him know that I would spread the word about his professionalism and hope that anyone looking for a cleaning service would never choose such an incompetent and ill mannered company! We have had many cleaning companies come into our home to clean. Personally I find it unsettling to have people in my house when I am not home, but I have found my girls from the Cleaning Authority to be trustworthy, reliable and hard working. I no longer feel like there are strangers in my home. When possible, the company is willing to accommodate my schedule and do any extras within reason. My husband and I contracted The Cleaning Authority of Sylvan Lake and used the service for a few months, then requested a change to our day of cleaning. New to having someone in our home to clean and still not comfortable with handing over our keys, we wanted to change to a day that fit our schedule (Friday). I contacted Jim Miller to request this change and he became immediately irritated, told me that his Friday schedule was packed due to everyone wanting a clean house for the weekend. I asked him to please find a way to accommodate us. Two weeks later, no call back from Jim to let us know. He proceeded to send the cleaning crew on the previously scheduled day anyway, in spite of me telling him it would not work. The girls showed up when my husband was running out the door to work and asked him to call Jim to inform him they wouldn't be able to clean as they were nervous to tell him themselves. Jim proceeded to scream at my husband, saying he 'assumed' we would leave a key for the crew to clean without us being at home. He then told my husband he would no longer do business with us! What business owner behaves this way? We currently live in a small home, therefore Jim refusing to clean for us was most likely not a big sacrifice for him. However, we will soon be moving into a larger home and have many friends and colleagues with means to hire a cleaning service. We will be sure to share our less than satisfactory experience. Owner is unwilling to work with clients to ensure their houses get cleaned for the holidays. What is the point of paying a premium for a cleaning service if they refuse to clean for holidays? The owner sets a rigid schedule and would rather drop you as a client than be flexible and work with you to ensure that you have a clean home for the holidays. For being a "client service" business, the owner doesn't seem to care about his clients. read more

We have used the Cleaning Authority for years (8+) and found them to be easy to work with an accommodating, especially in the rare occurrence that we happen to be home getting in the way of the crew while they are working. They have been able to add extra cleanings as needed when we are getting ready for parties and special events. read more
