While in Solvang, we found this really cool vintage thrift shop and walked around a bit. The inside had so many items to look at, but still felt very organized and didn't leave me feeling overwhelmed. They had everything - old records, comics, purses, fur coats, glassware -- even backstage passes from different concerts which I thought was pretty cool. I am always on the hunt for Uranium glass and A Piece of the Past had a few items. One being an ashtray and another being a set of glasses that I am still kicking myself for not just buying. Service was very friendly throughout the store and I also thought that most of the items were fairly priced - it didn't feel like they were trying to gouge anyone. Check them out!

Happiness set in as soon as I walked through the door. Clean, organized, bright and more importantly -- no old, dirty smell! The first item that caught my eye was a handmade mug. It reminded me of when my grandson was learning the alphabet as he would excitedly shout "N is for Narwhal!" Needless to say, I couldn't put it back down. We browsed every corner and found so many lovely items, including a beautiful vintage vanity (on my wish list). Prices were surprisingly reasonable, which made it really difficult not to buy more. As we were ready to check out with my mug, the husband pointed out a tiny silver scoop in a locked case. He could tell on my face that I wanted to add it to my collection, so he called someone to open the case -- he's such an enabler. :) The staff are easy to find, incredibly friendly and helpful. Such a great place -- we'll be back!

It was epic to witness. I've only ever seen items like this at the Getty. This is definitely a place you have to check out and plan to purchase from. I believe the pricing is fair because these are antiques that are made from scratch-- I mean everything is hand crafted. When you see something this nice, you would never want anyone to have a duplicate of it. It's so classy and the staff were incredibly kind. I believe this place is family-run, and it shows in how thoughtfully it's maintained. It felt inclusive and welcoming. Appointments are highly recommended, and this is not a space for children. I noticed they allow calm, well-behaved pets on leash or harness for private parties, which I appreciated. I first visited at 7 AM when they were closed just to admire the exterior, then came back around 12:30 PM to take it all in with better light. I fell in love with so many pieces and will absolutely be back once I have a home closer up north. This store is timeless beauty preserved and presented at its finest.

Three girlfriends and…read moreI wandered in while in Los Olivos for the weekend, and we ended up chatting with Sue for almost and hour. I have seldom seen a better curated collection than this shop has, and I've never seen such reasonable prices! I walked away with an incredible hand sown sequin designer shirt for under $50! When we left the shop, gleefully, I failed to realize I had lost an earring somewhere in her store, while trying on clothes. I reached out to Sue via email and she responded immediately! She found my missing earring and mailed it back to me. It was my Mother's and was really special to me. This shop owner really understands the value of quality items and sentimental treasures. This thrift shop began in 1963 to help support scholarships and other worthy causes. I found a Tess Gerritsen book and some adorable Christmas decor. The pricing was very reasonable compared to some Temecula thrift shops. Check out was quick & friendly. My items were carefully wrapped then placed in a nice canvas tote bag. This was a very pleasant experience and it felt good to support a nonprofit.

Decor is a a mix of vintage punk and hi-fi, but does carry a wide variety of genre. Most of the vinyl records seemed to be new and re-issues. Didn't see too many used vinyl, but might be because this place is only about two years old. Price seems similar to most other records stores for new records. It's somewhat hidden because it's on the second level of Jensen's Copenhagen Square. Service can use some work. No one greeted nor ask if I have any questions.

At this visit I was looking for a delicate sterling silver ring that our daughter has been searching for. I was surprised to find it and took a picture to send to her. In doing that I also took a picture of the wall of clocks, since it was nostalgic to our last visit. My husband then told me about the No Videos/Photos signs (sorry!). Our daughter texted back saying it was the ring she wanted. A staff member happened to come up at that moment who asked if I needed any help. She opened the case, but the ring was too big. She was so kind to look through the other sizes with me, but they didn't have more. We then walked around admiring all the collectibles and the wonderful details of the wooden German clocks. We plan to come back when our daughter visits in the Spring. Hopefully they will have her size then.
