What a wonderful little clock shop in historic downtown Glendale. We have a cuckoo clock that we bought in the Black Forest of Germany that quit working after a move. Jerry had it fixed in no time, while I waited, said the chains had gotten off track because it wasn't properly prepared for the move. He showed me how to do that, and gave me a whole lot of info on the clock...how to hang it, how to level it by ear, not using a bubble level, etc etc. what a wealth of info he has, and so kind and willing to share his knowledge. After going to highly recommened repair shop in Scottsdale (who, after looking at my clock told me it could not be repaired) I found the Clock Makers, who repaired my clock in 30 minutes. It was a very minor issue; did not charge me. Last month, another problem developed (not related to the first problem). Back to the Clock Maker. He said the movement was destroyed (I had put an incorrect battery in the clock); no replacement movement any longer due to the age of the clock. Still, he kept it, said he would research and try to find an alternative. Its back! Its repaired. This guy is a miracle worker. We recently had a opportunity to purchase a Grandfather clock. We weren't sure if it was worth the effort? So we hired Jerry and Susan to come by and take a look at it, service it, and give us some info regarding the clock. They came by on a Saturday, he took a look at it, and gave me an estimate for the repairs. He spend about a couple of hours taking the clock apart, cleaning it, re-greasing, and oiling it. During that time he told me a lot about the clock. He showed me how to adjust the hammers, if the time was off with in a week, he showed me how to adjust the seconds. Learned a lot from Jerry! He did a great job, clock is working great, sounds great. If I have any further issues with our clock, he will diffidently be the first person to call. read more

My husband's mother had an Anniversary clock that was out of commission. It needed to be serviced, as there were numerous things that needed to be fixed. After doing a good deal of research, my husband decided to take the clock to The Clock Makers in Historic Downtown Glendale. While the company does not yet have a publicized website or regular office hours, we decided to take the clock there due to Jerry's qualifications and experience. As he will inform you when you schedule a visit, Jerry opened his business in 1979 and is the proprietor, working alongside his sweet wife Susan. He is the only Certified Master Clockmaker in the Phoenix metropolitan area, carrying legitimate certification for his achievement. We didn't want just anyone working on our antique clock, so we weeded through many locations before settling with Jerry. Getting to the point--he did a FABULOUS job on our clock!! The glass dome needed to be replace (so he ordered a new one), we needed a new hex bolt (which he made from scratch) and key to wind the clock, which he also found for us. There was great communication throughout the time he had the clock and was working on it, and although there was a wait before he could start the job (as he had numerous other projects ahead of ours), we understood the timeframe it would be from day 1... and we are glad we waited! Jerry makes clock parts from scratch, which is not easy to find. He is a master of his field. If you need a clock serviced, repaired, or you would like to buy a unique one, call and make an appointment to come to his shop... It's worth it!! Never having a grandmother clock repaired before, I called a competitor prior to calling The Clock Makers and scheduled an appointment. Luckily, he didn't show up. Then I called The Clock Makers. I spoke with an amazing woman named Sue who walked me through diagnosis OVER THE PHONE, helped me make a couple of adjustments, instructed me on how to use the darned thing and told me "There. You don't need anyone to come and charge you to fix it now. Just think of us if you ever need to replace the movement." How awesome is that? There are so many people out there who'll do ANYTHING for a buck and here Sue is helping people for free. What a THIEF! I brought a clock in to be repaired in February 2011. After Thanksgiving, (Nov. 2011), I called to find out what the status of the clock was. I was told that it had not been touched and would not be ready until after the New Year (2012.) I was also quoted $650.- to repair the clock aqnd had to give them a $50.- deposit (along with a $2500.- clcok) I picked up the clock disgusted and wound up bringing it to All About Time on 27th Avenue in Phoenix. Frank looked at the clock and said that it needed new bushings. The charge was $150.- and he had it repaired in a little over 4 weeks. I HIGHLY recommend All About Time for ANY clock repair.
