I am writing this review to save someone else from heartbreak. In 1983, my father gifted a Landmark Westminster chime clock to me for my first wedding anniversary. The clock was maintained by an excellent, trustworthy clock shop in Toledo, Ohio. I took my clock there until the shop owner retired. After moving to Fort Wayne I needed to find someone to service my clock. I took my Landmark clock and another mantel clock to The Clock Shoppe on July 26th, 2022. I was told by James Hansen, the clock technician, that both clocks could not be repaired. He advised gutting both clocks of their chime/wind up mechanisms and converting them to battery power automatic clocks. He gave me a written estimate of the repairs, and told me it would be 6 months before the clocks would be finished. I gave him permission to go ahead. In October 2022, I called the shop and was told the clocks were still not finished and that someone would call when they were done. In March 2023, I called again. The clocks were still not finished. In April 2024, I had enough. I wanted my clocks back whether they were finished or not. BE ADVISED: The shop is not open every day. They are only open 2 days a week and it is difficult to reach anyone, so this time I contacted the shop by email. His wife apologized and said only one clock was completed, and I could come to the shop and get it. I picked up my Landmark clock on April 16, 2024. The clock had been converted and was working. But the chime quality was definitely not the same. His wife gave me a substantial discount on my bill and promised me that my other clock would be repaired, free of charge, and delivered to my home in a few days. They offered me no explanation as to why they took 1 year and 9 months to repair my clock or why they had never contacted me. When I got the Landmark clock home, the chime had no volume whatsoever. I was very disappointed. James brought the mantel clock to our home on April 24th, 2024. Today, June 6, 2024, the Landmark clock will no longer keep time. It's ruined. It's no longer a chime clock. I can't take it to any other clock repair, and I certainly won't take it back to The Clock Shoppe. If you have a chime clock that you love and cherish, save yourself the heartbreak that I have endured. Listen to me: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CLOCK TO THE CLOCK SHOPPE. Do not listen to their advice. Do not allow them to make any modifications to your clock. Keep your clock intact, the way it is, and take it somewhere else. Lack of willingness to help , organization of part prices lacking . Seems like hobby not a business

A while back one of the two grandfather clocks I own stopped working. The seconds pendulum on it stopped working and due to that my clock would not tick or tock. So i reached out to the man who previously repaired the clock a year ago and he advised he was too busy. He is a jeweler by trade and said that he was just too busy in his shop and had not been repairing any clocks for months and it would be months still for him to get to mine. He recommended I call the Clock Shoppe in Fort Wayne. I called and I believe I spoke with one of the owners. She was a very friendly woman, who took down my information. They go every once in a while to Van Wert to do repairs so I got an appointment. The shoppe is also very good with keeping appointments and reminders, as I had forgotten my appointment date/time and they called the weekend before my appointment to confirm it. Again I spoke with one of the owners during the confirmation, and we chatted about the symphony I was about to see/hear that night while she was confirming my appointment. Like I said, they are very friendly. A few days later, the repairman, whom i believe is the other owner came by and started working on my clock. He immediately took out his tools and started working on my clock. It was interesting to watch him work, its such a meticulous process. Once he was done my clock was fixed and I could hear my grandfather clock tick, tock and chime.
