This small, locally owned restaurant is tucked inside a cozy mobile home with charming Western décor, giving it a unique and welcoming atmosphere. Nearly everything on the menu is made from scratch, with the exception of the fries and tater tots. My favorite menu item is the Texas Twinkie--it was creamy, cheesy, and had just the right amount of spice. The meats were perfectly cooked, tender, and well-seasoned. The tater tots were a bit overdone, and while the house-made potato salad wasn't my favorite, the rest of the meal more than made up for it. I paired my meal with a freshly squeezed lemonade, and for dessert, I couldn't resist the house-made blackberry cobbler à la mode. It was absolutely scrumptious and the perfect way to end the meal. I wouldn't go a second time. Went here for lunch- ordered brisket, pulled pork, macaroni and cheese and the Apple slaw. Brisket was not fork tender. I had to cut it with a steak knife and it was tough and leathery, definitely way overcooked. That was a huge disappointment. The pulled pork was okay. The mac and cheese was okay but not good enough to take the rest home. Best part of the meal was the Apple slaw. The server's helper was attentive and friendly. The server could have been friendlier and stood at our table a little bit longer while asking us a question so that we could both answer her. We tried The Cluckin Hen House for the first time tonight. What a cute little spot. The food was delicious. Our order including brisket and pulled pork, along with sweet potatoe fries, onion rings and ranch beans. I will admit the ranch beans may have been a little too spicy for this girl! The brisket was really good, and I loved the BBQ sauce. I forgot to snap a picture of everything before it was devoured, but did get one of the pulled pork sandwich! Today was our first time trying out The Cluckin Hen House & I'm happy to say it won't be our last. The decor was cute, hubby called it farm shabby sheek. The waitress/staff were friendly & courteous. Hubby ordered the brisket with fries & onion rings. The brisket was smoky deliciousness absolutely great. The onion rings were delicious & hot, the fries just ok (but that's plain fries for you) The only thing he would have done differently was ask for the bbq sauce to come on the side instead of on the brisket but that's his preference. I ordered the pulled pork, chicken, potato salad & apple slaw. The pork was tasty, the chicken was dry & hard to eat, the potato salad was ok (but missing something in my opinion) the apple slaw was tasty an interesting combination of flavors. Once again I'd have ordered the bbq sauces on the side rather than on the meats but that's personal preference. The tea was not very good but we think it's the Yuma water that makes it taste weird. read more

Such a great place. Staff was very attentive. I had ribs, Cole slaw and sweet potato fries. Everything was cooked perfectly. Took a bit longer for fries but totally worth it was informed why the took a bit longer but worth the wait. Hubby wants to try the pot pie. He had sausage and coleslaw and beans. Sad to say I can't recommend this restaurant. I had such high hopes knowing we have limited restaurants in the Foothills area. I have to admit I haven't tried their ribs or brisket. Has brisket shrimp stroganoff on their soft opening which to me was uneatable. My husband had their fish and chips which was dry and just not good. I appreciated that they did not charge us. I always try a restaurant for at least a second time so had their chicken pot pie the other day. Others may love it, just not my cup of tea. We decided to stop here while we were visiting yuma and I'm so glad we did. The por barbecue was amazing and I love the apple coleslaw. We also tried the twisted pickle and it was so flipping good! Limited dinner menu so you'd expect good home cooking. Not my experience. We were there on Thursday ( Chefs choice nite) and the meal my wife wanted was sold out at 5:30 so maybe it was really good. However the perogies and chicken & dumplings were average at best. A bit over priced for the smallish portions as well. Then they had a 3% upcharge to pay with a card. I understand that the card companies charge them, but still not classy or necessary when they actually solicit for tips. Won't be back read more

Very cute, homey place. we were there on bbq night. ribs were delicious and tender. Smoke flavor was perfect. Sausage was not too spicy and smoked perfect. Apple cole slaw was yummy. Hope to make it back during the week and try some other meals. read more
