I was in Albuquerque for some work, and stayed here for three nights. This hotel has a wonderful location on the plaza, with food and entertainment everywhere you look. The convention center is adjacent to this hotel, making it a convenient stay if you are there for a meeting. The hotel has a lovely lobby with a bar to the side. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I enjoyed my time there and would happily stay there again. Sleep well! read more

no wonder this hotel has such terrible reputation on yelp, i wish i have checked it before i booked my room here. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn other travelers. We stayed at the Clyde Hotel in Albuquerque after a 7-hour drive from San Diego, arriving around midnight with our three children. Despite seeing us waiting with exhausted kids, the front desk agent, Haven, admitted a group of airline personnel before helping us. While I understand hotel staff may have procedures to follow, the interaction felt dismissive and lacked basic customer service. Unfortunately, things only got worse once we got to our room. There was no hot water, the shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom, the bathroom smelled strongly of mold, and it was extremely outdated and in poor condition. The room was booked for four guests, yet it only contained three towels. When I called the front desk to request an additional towel, Haven told me I would have to come downstairs to get it myself. I explained that I could not leave my three young children alone in the room at 1:00 a.m. and politely asked if another staff member could bring it up instead. She responded by hanging up on me. I called back, hoping we had simply been disconnected, but after explaining my frustration, she hung up on me a second time, saying, "Maybe you should call again later." When I called a third time, no one answered the phone. We travel frequently and have stayed at many hotels, including some of the finest in the world, and I have never experienced customer service this poor. Regardless of a hotel's price point, guests deserve basic courtesy, especially after a long day of travel with young children. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend staying at the Clyde Hotel. There are far better options in Albuquerque where guests are treated with professionalism and respect. read more

Everything about this hotel is magical. Comfortable rooms, superior service, great snacks, and great restaurants. All the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Every time I've stayed there I haven't been able to really get out because I've been busy. The area is a little bit sketch, however, the hotel is a wonderful oasis in the middle of some questionable streets and characters. This is a beautiful hotel though a bit dated. The king size bed that stay in was very nice with was comfortable and had various pillows soft/hard. I did have an issue with the corner of the bed...I hit my ankle or leg on it every time. The bathroom was dated, it was like a Holiday Inn. The toilet was my biggest issue. I reported it upon check in and maintenance came and fixed it but it was a poor job and continued to run unless I jiggled it. There is an onsite cafe open for breakfast & lunch and an onsite bar open most evenings. I was here for a conference for over 500 attendees. Since this was a host hotel, I noticed there were issues with some of the elevators not working. Just a heads up when conventions are in town. My room had views of the Sandia Mountains and the views were pretty good. The major plus is that it is located across the street from the Convention Center. read more

What can I say about this hotel? I'll start by saying that when you walk in the lobby it's like being transported into another time. The front desk is absolutely amazing! I can't say that small things didn't come up but when anything came up even something so small it was fixed beyond what you could have expected. Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. You feel like you're wanted here! Housekeeping goes out of their way to make sure that everything's up to your standards. The food is absolutely amazing! The prime rib sandwich is a must try! Pretty nice hotel in downtown. The room was comfortable and the bed was new. The shower was hot and the water pressure was pretty good for a large hotel. A few things that could have made this a 5. - the AC wasn't that great. It was set at 60 when I arrived, but it was not that cold at all. - I couldn't watch regular tv on my room. The direct tv they had was not working. "Not available." - the bathroom needs an update. The toilet wouldn't stop running and the shower nozzle is pretty cheap. Stayed here for 2 nights. Front desk workers were incredibly rude. I had some questions and I came down and politely asked about them and the lady was very short with me and gave me attitude. First off, instead of being welcoming or helpful, the front desk was combative and snapped at basic questions. Now she didn't have to talk to me as if I was 5, very condescending for someone who interacts with people all day. If you value being treated with basic respect. Management seriously needs to retrain their front desk team on hospitality. read more

Just an overnight stay on the 18th floor at this splendid Hotel! Named after Clyde Tingley (info on their website about his influence in New Mexico), this 20 story hotel has the benefit of location to downtown, fun things to do nearby, food on site and a splendidly comfortable bed!! I had a chance to relax and listen to music, shop in their on site mercantile and enjoy a drink and their smoked trout spread. The portion was good and the spread was smoky but not overbearing. Valet or self parking in the garage is available. The reservationists were helpful, friendly and smiled - very welcoming! It didn't take long to check in. The king size bed was very comfortable and I loved the pillows too! The room was spacious and the bathroom was a good size as well. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. This was worse stay I've ever experienced in a hotel. The lack of consideration was unacceptable. I stayed on the 10th floor the shower was cold. Assistants was sent the gentleman told me that because the boiler is on the ground floor no matter what room we were in the water would be cold. He said no point of trying to switch rooms. I accepted but then pulled back the sheets other occupants hair everywhere. I called the front desk and they gave 2 complimentary breakfast. I explained all of this to the front desk Robert he said sorry that's all!!! This was booked thur a 3rd party but 231.00 for one night isn't cheap and the lack of here is some of your money back. The Clyde Hotel was a great experience. We were there on an inspection tour for a future conference. I would very strong urge that you NOT pay attention to reviews written by people who stayed there shortly after the building reopened. It had been closed for 2 years due to covid. The new owners have made great strides and correcting every single issue noted by early visitors. The rooms are super clean and the maid service is outstanding. The restaurant provided excellent breakfast and lunch and the bar did a great job of serving the customers. The staff are cheerful and helpful. In particular the breakfast provided many healthy as well is down home items on the menu. We have decided to hold our conference there given the great reception that we received and equality of our experience while there. read more

I travel frequently and always want to support locally owned above chains. However, it seems that Heritage has taken a back seat to upgrading and maintaining their outwardly beautiful properties. This one was the worst. The place felt deserted when I was there this past Monday and Tuesday while my husband had surgery nearby. Our television didn't work and the bathroom had a faucet handle that leaked all over my travel jewelry bag. The shower valve ran hot and cold water, and when I tried to take a bath on the first night after a stressful day, the bath water was dirty, obviously from marginal cleaning. The coffee offered for the Keurig is terrible. After the second night I chose to move over to the Embassy suites, where the rooms didn't smell bad, were clean, where I had a free hot breakfast for Less money, and where I felt much safer, despite having to park myself in an open lot. I hate writing bad reviews almost as much as I hate spending money on a bad stay. read more

Furniture is damaged and stained, appliances are dated, stains and hair on the bed from previous guests as well as food on the floor from previous guests. The decor and furniture in the room is so dated that there is holes in the lamp shades with unbearable dust buildup, there is a side table with glass on top with who knows what in the crevices and under the glass (looks disgusting like it has NOT been cleaned. Ever.), stains all over the walls, and to top it all off the AC doesn't function and fails at pretty much its only job which is to keep the room cold or even above outside temperature which is 90 degrees. I have no clue why this is labeled as a 4 star hotel when the reviews seem to have a common theme (a cleanliness issue) amongst other things. Definitely not worth the nightly rate and if you're looking for the same quality but $80 cheaper you might as-well hole up in a motel 6. read more

We were visiting family and this hotel was centrally located. The room and bathroom were very large and clean. Normally I have trouble sleeping from noise, but, this place must have thick walls, because I didn't not hear any noise. The bed was very comfortable. We tried the Carrie's restaurant for breakfast and 1922 lounge for an evening drink, both were great as well. The hotel staff were all very helpful. We had a great view. It looks like they are doing some renovations, don't let this discourage you from enjoying this hotel. They have a large pool and jacuzzi that really helped us relax after the long drive. Perfect location with many stores and restaurants within walking distance. I would highly recommend this hotel. read more

Very good service but a little bit short considering it's 4 star hotel. The room was nice and has great view. I think the bed is too soft and I had to resort to sleep on the floor. Staff are really nice and tried their best to serve. We got a wrong information during the booking so they upgraded us a better room. It was a bit messy when a lot of people were checking in at the same time and they had their system (or whatever) updated that day. I got charged $300 extra for some reasons but thanksfully it's resolved in about 2 week. It's rather a long time frame though and it shouldn't have happened but it's good that it's sorted out. It would have been a really pleasant stay if they had not messed up the information with the booking team and a random charge was posted on my card. I love this hotel. Quiet and spacious rooms. Good value! Starbucks in the lobby. Cocktail lounge and place to get quick meal. Big lobby for chats. Even has a gift shop! Old school. I asked who Clyde is or was. Staff was very enthusiastic about their hotel and explained Clyde Tingley was a big contributor to Albuquerque's growth back in the day. Established schools, airports, infrastructure. This hotel opened in April and was previously the Hyatt. It feels much different and I suspect earlier reviews they were getting kinks out. read more

My youngest wanted to stay at a fancy hotel during our road trip to the Grand Canyon and Legoland in Carlsbad. While driving back from our trip we decided to stop in Albuquerque to have a little breakup in driving, and so my son could experience some "luxury." We were planning to stay at Hotel Andaluz, but didn't book in time so, a third party suggested The Clyde. Upon entrance everyone was super friendly, and everything looked clean and nice. Our room was located on the 12th floor. Unfortunately, Albuquerque in downtown is not that impressive so no good skyline or great views from our floor. The water pressure was good, and the shower felt nice. However, the water did not drain well in the sink or bath tub. That kind of grossed me out. The toilet also was very slow at flushing, also gross. The king size bed was amazing. Probably the best sleep we've all gotten on our trip, and no bed bugs hehe. This is one of the reasons I can't completely give a negative review. Also, I'm just giving constructive criticism so, this hotel can do better in the future especially with their pricing. When we checked out the hotel charged us an extra $140 something instead of the third party. We had to address this to the front desk, and then again when we eventually got home since the charge did not clear, but wanted to make sure they really took it off. They also charge you a $25.00 amenities fee for the pool and fitness rooms. The pool was closed during our visit, and we didn't use any of the amenities yet, still got charged which was in my opinion not fair. We already paid $250ish for our room, and they charge you right away upon booking unlike some other hotels. The Clyde has a restaurant and bar downstairs in the lobby. We decided to try it since it was 5:30PM, and we were all tired. I had their Southwest salad with chicken, my guy had the short rib sandwich with au jus, and my little one had a burger with fries. The salad was not fresh. They gave me the ends/stalks of the romaine lettuce, and it was bruised or red in the white center. The 6 tiny avocado pieces I found were rancid with black spots all over it, and the tomatoes just weren't fresh, nothing was. The cilantro ranch dressing was delicious though. My guy didn't care for his sandwich, but my little one enjoyed his meal. Pricing was high for what it was. I believe it was like 70-80 after tip and tax. Overall, the staff are extremely friendly and I don't feel like they did anything wrong, but the hotel and restaurant definitely need to do better in the quality and extra fees when there wasn't even everything available. We won't be staying here again, but I hope they improve for other guests sake. read more

During check-in, while I was waiting at the counter, I could hear other conference attendees yelling behind me, "There's a mouse climbing your leg!" At that moment, I jumped to get it off, and another guest came over to assist me. The mouse then fell to the floor and scurried into the corner near the check-in desk. The young lady checking me in went to the back and returned as if nothing had happened, continuing to try to check me in. Frustrated and shaken by the incident, she was more concerned about getting a card on file than the mouse. Eventually, a maintenance person came out, spoke briefly with the young lady, and I pointed out where the mouse was. He picked it up and took it to the back office. Another staff member then came out to assist with check-in since the process had backed up with conference attendees waiting for their keys. No one ever apologized or asked if I was okay. If I had known there was availability at another hotel, I would have gone elsewhere. I waited to see if anyone from the hotel would contact me regarding the incident, but no one did. By the second day of the conference and now my third day at the hotel, as I was on my way to the convention center, I stopped by the front desk to inquire if anyone had mentioned the mouse incident from two days prior. One of the hotel staff looked surprised as if he were just hearing about it, while another person, who appeared to be a manager, seemed a bit apologetic and was aware of what had happened. She informed me that someone was coming to address the issue and mentioned that there had been another incident the day before. Despite this, I wasn't offered anything other than a belated two-day apology. I noticed that some of my colleagues who experienced issues with their rooms had at least received a voucher to use at the restaurant during their stay, which I also heard complaints about (charging for items like cheese, jelly, and butter). I am very disappointed at how this situation was handled or wasn't handled. In addition to the other issues that I heard from other guests, the hotel really needs to make some changes. I would like to also bring attention to a few issues regarding the accommodations. The bathroom fixtures and plumbing are in need of updating and repairs (room 1916). Specifically, the cold water handle on the sink leaks during use, causing water to pool on the countertop. Additionally, the shower head and fixtures are outdated, with malfunctioning spray options and poor water pressure. Furthermore, there are stains on the carpet, which also appear to be old and may need to be replaced. While the room decor is nice, the condition of the carpet and bathroom fixtures detracts from the overall enjoyment of the stay. read more

My husband and I stayed last Friday and Saturday night. The hotel is fine. However, on Saturday, there was a celebration of sorts in the plaza attached to the convention center. During the day, we were barely able to hear the music. However, we returned to the hotel that evening early as we had a 6 AM flight and had to wake up at 3:30. The music steadily got louder and louder. There was no way to sleep. At 10:00 PM, I called the front desk and they offered to send up ear plugs. I did tell them that we would never have stayed in the hotel if we had known that there would be loud music playing. The music continued until 11:12. I've worked for over 10 years at a hotel, and I still work in customer service. I appreciate current challenges in hospitality, this review isn't about aspects out of the hotel's control. We initially booked at the Hyatt, which turned over to Clyde. I was excited to stay in a retro art deco themed hotel. We were spending close to 1000$ on a 2 night stay, so I expected something a little upscale. We wanted two things: a jacuzzi, and fridge to keep food (we wanted fresh food the morning of the hot air balloon fiesta as we were waking up at 3:30am). The hotel listed both, but had neither. In fact, our fridge was broken outside in the hallway, it stayed there half our stay so it became somewhat humorous so we took a photo of it. The jacuzzi was indefinitely out of order, despite being listed as a feature on hotels.com and on the Clyde website. We never had a visit from housekeeping, despite requesting it. We also never got that working fridge, despite also requesting it. I left 20$ for our housekeeper, but since absolutely no one came to so much as empty our trash, my 20$ was still there. We arrived on a week day and were told they were at less than 20% occupancy, so this should not happen. Despite the face that the hotel is massive, there's rarely more than one restaurant serving food at a time, and there were several waking hours there was no food. There were also dirty towels in the hallway, and our door was really tricky to open (having worked in hotels, I know all the tricks, this door needed actual repair). The good stuff: the staff was all very nice, the room itself was large and the shower/tub were good. I loved the lemongrass scented body care products, and the bed was comfortable. read more

Super disappointing. Booked my travel and stay a week out, flew in late and arrived to the hotel only for their system not to work. Their payment terminal would not take my card payment for the deposit, and their explanation was that it was an issue with my card. Called my provider only for them to tell me my card was active and had no issues and they didn't even see an attempt to charge my card in the amount of the deposit. My card was attempted a couple more times with no success. Ultimately, I ended up having to go down the street to find a room and had no issues using my card there. A shame that such a nice hotel lacks the ability to use a debit or credit card for payment leaving its guest in a position to have to find somewhere else to stay at 10:30pm. I travel for work often, and would never personally consider or recommend The Clyde Hotel to anyone again in caution that they don't end up in the same position. read more

We just returned from a suite-level stay at the Clyde, the first time I have been at this property. While I welcome and support their references and respect of a overlooked period of Albuquerque history and the lobby renovation is well done and inviting, our rooms were not of the same standard. It appears more money and attention was spent on public spaces rather than individual rooms, which still show the 1980s/ 90s origin of this building. Nothing about our stay was particularly objectionable, however: When I requested an extra sheet or bedspread we could use while sitting on the couch, we were brought a dozen extra pillowcases and nothing else. The area beneath the sink was not cleaned, and when I ran the tub water, hair floated to the top. Marble in the kitchen area hasn't been deep cleaned or polished since possibly the original hotel opened, and shows decades of staining. Large red stains in the carpet hadn't been cleaned or removed, a ceiling lamp was installed with an exposed wire, the draperies could only be partially opened or closed due to broken or jammed cords, and there is a hole in the ceiling, apparently cut to allow the fire suppression system, but that system doesn't extend beyond the hole, meaning it wouldn't extinguish any fire. These are all concerns I would expect at a lower-tier property, not a room costing over $300 per night at a hotel chain that advertises its commitment to quality and detail. I hope the Clyde continues to improve and upgrade, but until I read of individual room renovations I will probably look for alternatives. read more

We were treated like friends and the manager (Marty) was the best in the world. He should get an award for his professionalism and care. He even went above and beyond to help the staff in the restaurant. The staff was great. We even found out that a scene from Better Call Saul was filmed there. The food was fantastic. We couldn't believe the consistency of the food after eating there numerous times during our stay. Room service was excellent. We will definitely stay there again in the future. read more

Stayed Saturday evening as a little 'staycation' with my husband, as we attended a concert nearby. The price of the room was reasonable, and the rooms were quite clean. Hotel itself has a fun 1920's theme complete with a piano player in the lobby. Before the show, my husband and I went to the 1920 bar to get a quick drink. My husband tried the coffee flavored 'Old Fashion,' and I got the 'Tractor Blood Orange' cider. The ambiance from the piano put us in a great mood and set a marvelous tone for the evening. read more
