Refreshing beverage in Market City, Honolulu, Hawaii... I saw an Instagram post that advertised $3 for any Matcha beverage purchased on 7-7-25... Sounds good to me! I've been to this location of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf several times. It's been awhile since my last visit, so I forgot that one of the entrances is through Foodland! LOL! I entered through the door that faces Kapiolani Boulevard. Inside the cozy shop, there are two small tables with chairs for customers to enjoy their purchases. I took my Matcha Latte to go. It's odd that the Manoa location charged me $3.14... because our sales tax is 4.712%. I paid 99 cents more at this Market City location because coconut milk was used. It makes me wonder what was used instead of coconut milk at the Manoa location... Anyway, my Loyalty Card was stamped and I went on my way!

This was a spontaneous stop for us. So thankful we got to stop by and try their Vanilla Latte and Cookie Butter Later with some egg bites, croissant and blueberry muffin.

Large Hot Pumpkin Latte, light foam. Looks like the barista poured the foam out.

Service, the wait is long and this is what I paid for. I honestly didn't even take sip yet. I saw the barista grabbing paper towels from the dispenser over the sink and wiping the cup.

The Vietnamese cold brew and new horchata cold brew were perfect! Not too sweet, refreshing and coffee-forward. When it comes to CBTL, I prefer their teas over coffee but the cold brews are solid ... well, they're liquid but the taste is solid! Quality drinks and even higher quality service. No matter what hour of the day, no matter how busy, the employees are friendly and make a perfect brew. Highly recommend!

This location is one of my favorites just because it's close to home, but the worst part is the parking lot. I swear it takes forever to get parking because you have foodland and then all the other restaurants surrounding that area. Relatively small on side with maybe like 3 seats available. My go to drink her is the plantation iced tea, iced matcha latte, and recently their new matcha strawberry cream. Plantation iced tea just hits for a good price even for the jumbo. Not too sweet which is like the best compliment. I was iffy about the matcha strawberry cream at first because I didn't think they would mix well. To my surprise it's great. The strawberry adds a nice sweet acidic tang too the matcha.

    Seriously does this look full?

I always come here but the workers here are getting worse and worse.. attitude and no friendliness. When they make a mistake, I've gotten no sorry and gotten cold attitude. Also recently went and got a large drink and they didn't even fill it to the top, I pointed it out and she said she could put more ice, mind you it was already full of ice I said I didn't want more ice..wtheck.ALSO BURNT My breakfast sandwich! Clear black on the top I should have took a picture of the first one but the girl that was warming it up said I could get another one...she said doesn't control the temp...um then why don't you have common sense to make the time less?? Elizabeth was rude and she made the drink. Ugh I like Ala Moana or kapahulu locations a little more as well as I havent really gotten bad service. I do have to note, prices have gone up too over the years but what keeps me coming back are the many options/flavors and ease of ordering. At this market city location they said they do not do avocado toast any more..

Honestly so disappointing when you pay for something and most of it is all ice and it doesn't even taste like how it's supposed to. 3/4 of the cup was ice. I ordered a 'strawberry matcha cream' but it tastes only like matcha. Straight ripping people off by trying so save product, that's how it seems. I will definitely complain next time I come back.

During my visit some friends of mine wanted a drink and there was issues with a newbie placing a promoted drink that wasn't listed as an option on the register apparently so that took awhile without any communication to us as we are standing in line. Then there was problems with accepting Apple Pay and my friend had to do it 3x. This should have been signs not to place an order but i waited this whole time without apology or acknowledgment to our group of 5 for the wait. The newbies trainer took my order and my newbie made my drink which she spilled a bit on the counter while making and then cleaned up my drink. It didn't like ube and it was just whipped cream and ice. Don't recommend at all.

This little coffee shop is adjacent to Foodland. The luxurious coffee smells draws you in for a taste of your favorite drink. Service is top notch. My favorite drink is the Matcha Cream Strawberry Latte! It comes to you beautifully layered. Mix up the layers and it becomes a refreshing treat!

Dark Roast...definitely not filled to the top, not even close...

Coffee is life for me and I live off of it. This "bean water" as Joyce W would say is a major food group in my diet. This Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is located in Market City Shopping Center inside of Foodland. There is seating available both inside and outside. I've been coming here more often because it's so close and Mink likes the flavor of their coffee slightly more than Starbucks. They have a stamp card so make sure to get one. I wish they had an app that automatically tracks your purchases like Starbucks. Why am I giving them only 2 stars? During several visits, I ordered the large light roast but they didn't have any. I need coffee so I go with their dark roast. They never fill it up to the top. I don't understand that because I always tell them I don't add cream or sugar. With the large, I get a regular cups worth of coffee. If I get their regular, I get even less coffee. This is mind boggling. I figured my last visit would be different because I donated to their charity but same thing again, coffee wasn't filled even close to the top. Not happy or pleased...I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

Great service, coffee & food items. Though it's small, the area to sit is quite well arranged. One does not have a cramped feeling.

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. The Lava Mocha is hands down my favorite mocha I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. It was the reason I came back and waited! Mauna Kea Iced Coffee is my FAVORITE coffee of all time. I will be drooling over this coffee until I return. It has coffee, sea salt caramel, a scoop of ice cream, and black sea salt. Already it sounds delicious and it was. I finished my drink within 5 minutes. I didn't order any food this time, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. The menu is extensive with plenty of options, making it a great place for brunch whether you're craving something sweet or savory. The café also has a small section selling Island Vintage merchandise, which is fun to browse while you're waiting. If you choose to sit outside, don't be surprised if a few birds decide to join you for breakfast and they're regulars too.. Overall, despite the longer wait for drinks, the quality of the coffee, inviting atmosphere, and tempting menu make this a spot I'd happily visit again.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
