We can walk here but usually stop on the drive back home from wherever we were down the hill. Over the summer there was an Ube menu that d2 was obsessed with. It was nearly every other day we were there getting her something. We don't have TCB&TL anywhere in the Bay and maybe the Ube menu was exclusive to Hawaii. I also tried the viral Tik Tok Plantation Iced Tea with added lilikoi. It was good but too sweet for my liking. On occasion I've also had the lilikoi lemonade. Service is hit or miss. Most of the time the baristas are nice and maybe he was having a bad day, but one was extra sassy and a little rude one day. It's okay everyone is allowed a bad day I suppose. Treat Yo' Self Thursday in Makakilo, O'ahu, Hawai'i... The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) in Hawaii has different promotions from the stores on the mainland. The Instagram account for "coffeebeanhi" had a great special for Thursday: $4 for a regular ice blended drink. I thought that I should get one for my niece who is helping my sister take care of our mom. This particular location is Kapolei on the map, but it's actually Makakilo because I drove up towards the mountain. It's located inside a convenience store called Malama Market. There's a small, free parking lot right outside. Inside, the shop was calm and quiet... not like the Foodland Kapolei location! There were four staff - not just two staff! Service was very rude today both when ordering and receiving my order. And on top of that my order was wrong but I did not even feel like letting the staff know because I was just over the entire experience. I wanted to try the new drinks on their instagram promotion and even showed them the post and they gave me a drink not even on the promotion when I specifically asked for a different flavor. I frequent Coffee Bean locations quite often but often find their service can be very "hit or miss". Disappointed by this encounter to say the least. read more

i go to this coffee bean often and i've had conversations with many of the workers there. they are all so welcoming and kind. i've enjoyed talking story with them and seeing the regular workers. this is probably one of the only places that every worker there is so incredibly nice. i especially enjoy the cute and fun drawings they have suggesting certain drinks. but what really makes this coffee bean special is the workers. i absolutely love them and look forward to seeing them every time i visit! plus look at the cute smiley face they put on my drink! lol read more

Love the matcha blended with Thai walls!! I'm obsessed literally. The location is perfect for makakilo residents and conveniently located in malama market. I would place my usual order and then go do some grocery shopping and then return with my drink ready to be picked up. I knocked off a star due to the high price of tje drink which comes out to almost $9 bucks yikes! What's good is that they sell their matcha powder in a bag. $9.99 for 1lb bag of matcha. I've been coming here for over a year & can't believe I didn't leave a review for this place. So here it is, the staff is the BOMB! They see me & tell me my drink.... Lol! As you may have guessed it I order the same thing & same size each time I visit...... lol! A few times they ran out of that tea that they use but the other selection of tea that they use was so delicious! Store is always clean and smells like coffee! Mornings are tough most days, so when you go to a coffee spot they're usually one to take all the grouch from their customers so I always assume they would be the crankiest customer service workers out there, but not here at this location! If I owned a coffee shop, Id come here to poach their employees LOL This location is AAA grade in everything from cleanliness, to the drinks and best of all their customer service. Every single time I have stopped here I've had a pleasant experience. The same 2 girls that work the morning shifts are always so genuinely helpful. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is connected to the Malama Market in Makakilo. Customers of the coffee shop can enter via Malama Market or through a separate entrance/exit door. There is a counter table with about four high chairs for individuals who tend to enjoy their drinks and lunch during breaks from work. Flavored coffee grains and tea grains are sold at the shop. There's even hydroflasks and coffee mugs for customers to purchase. Deli items and bakery goods can be found near the checkout counter. The few times I stopped by this location was to get a nice cold plantation iced tea. Once I even got the Cookies-n-cream drink on a Mo'jo Monday. Employees are always friendly and the shop was rarely busy during the times I went. More seating can be found outside on the side of the building. I believe there are two small tables and three tables with umbrella slots for customers who want to enjoy their drinks outside of the shop. If I am ever in the Makakilo vicinity at least now I know where to get some flavored tea drinks. It helps that I also have a stamp card for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf locations. read more

Lately, I feel like I'm walking around like a zombie. It's been over 2 months since I was able to sleep for 5 hours straight, due to my newest addition to my family. So if you try to approach me, be forewarned that if I have a blank stare my body is functioning on minimal sleep. So how do I cope? This Coffee Bean in particular is my ultimate favorite. For the spectacular view overlooking Kapolei, all the way to Diamond Head. At night the amazing view of the stars and the city lights. There is rarely a line and it's never jammed pack with people. They offer free Wi-Fi, so it's a awesome place to study, write a review on Yelp, or surf the web. Coffee Bean employees are always customer orientated. I get greeted right away with a smile and I never feel rushed. If I am looking at the menu someone usually offers some help. I don't feel like I'm just another person depositing money into a business. I truly feel like a valued customer. At other coffee shops they are talking to each other about all sorts of things. There's usually free samples of baked goods or coffee. They are cheaper then the competitor. They currently have a special running till April, Military Appreciation. The deal is 10 % off your whole purchase. I also like there stamp card. For every $1 that you spend you get a stamp. When it's filled you get to choose ANY SIZE drink for free :) My personal favorite here is the English Breakfast Latte. I'm drinking one as I write this review. If it wasn't offered as a free sample I would've never known of such a great pick me upper. You can pick any freshly brewed tea of your choice, they infuse it with vanilla, milk, and foam. There lattes are always up to par. At other coffee shops it's usually a miss. It taste like hot water, tinted with some flavor for $5. Arrrghh, the agony. For the coffee ice blended drink, I enjoy the Ultimate Vanilla blended with chocolate covered espresso beans. Of course with the whip cream and sprinkled with cinnamon. They also offer seasonal drinks that I adore. Flavors such as gingerbread, pumpkin spice latte, and peppermint latte. Convenient location for me because its just up the road from me. Up makakilo drive, shares space with Malama market. Parking is shared with malama market so when it gets busy parking sucks. Inside is clean, neat, and organized. Small but they do have seating outside. Coffee is better than the you know who. Love their different flavors for iced tea. Staff is nice and friendly. Pastry side was a bit empty, this was the only negative. So if u snooze you lose. Returning again because I just live down the street. read more

To be honest I don't like leaving bad reviews but the a few times I've visited with the attempted to replace them with Sartbucks but they can't seem to get my drink right . Im lactose intolerance so I always have to request a different type of milk on my lattes . The first time before I took my drink I confirmed with the barista the milk selection. The cashier / mgmt got loud with me and informed me I didn't asked for it and there was an extra charge . Accusing me of not requesting as I didn't wanted to pay the difference. This last time I requested and made sure I paid for it and again my drink wasn't right . I've suffered all day at work with the cramps and stomach ache . Unfortunately, I won't be returning nor recommending it . The ambiance the location it's perfect for the Makakilo area . As there are basically no store on Makakilo Hill, this Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is very convinient next to Malama Market, so you wouldn't have to go all the way down of the hill and deal with traffic lights and congestion. Workers are really nice and they provide fast service and great drinks! I honestly like better than starbucks sometimes. It is a very small place so not suited to just relax and kill time, but a great place to grab a drink to go while shopping at Malama. read more

When I lived in Makakilo, this was my all time favorite coffee shop. It really still is, the company anyway. Since moving away from Makakilo, I haven't come to this location in years. Located in the Malama Market it was super convenient for me to get my coffee fix while grabbing this and that for dinner or snacks. On my way to work, I'd stop in every morning. Ice blended drinks are equivalent to frappe or frappaccino elsewhere. The ice blended from coffee bean were very smooth. I hated other coffees having chucks of ice still lingering in the "blend". I also noticed whatever it is, whether it be the coffee or the cream that is added in doesn't upset my stomach as much as other places. Because of my previous "lifestyle changes" I've since become somewhat lactose intolerant and try to avoid cows milk as much as possible. Soy substitute does cost about 50c to a dollar more but worth avoiding a tummy ache! The lot is a bit small but the store is not one to keep customers busy for more than 30m so I've always been able to grab a stall. I like that there's a stop light near the entrance/exit so it's easy to get out safely. If you're in the Makakilo area definitely stop in, otherwise there are now two other locations in Kapolei... read more
