There's a small parking lot in the front but we always manage to find a spot with good luck and timing. You get there and wait outside until the hostess comes out to put you on the waitlist. There's lots of parking in the lot, but the signage about where not to park is a little confusing. I got the flight of pancakes, loco moco, and lox bagel. The flight of pancakes is always a must. But now that all the other eateries have raised prices, understandably so because of employee raises and supply increases, this doesn't seem pricey. I finally got the chance to eat at My Cafe after having it on my "to dine" list for years. We stopped by at 9 am on a weekend and were able to get a seated with no wait. I was recently at My Café in Kapolei. I had stopped by for an early breakfast before getting my day started. I happened to be by myself this time so I thought I would keep things simple. They have an early morning breakfast special available before 9 AM so I decided to go that route. It included two eggs, pancakes, and your choice of breakfast meat. I chose bacon. It was very simple, but excellent food. The macadamia nut coffee was fantastic. I loved it. If there was any part about my experience, that was less than superb it was probably the middling customer service. A couple times I had to flag down the server just to get some basic assistance like extra napkins or butter for my pancakes. Another time I had to flag someone down to ask for a refill on my coffee and my water. He was early and the place was really not that busy so there was really no good excuse for not paying attention to the customers that you have. But we all have off days so I didn't let it bug me. My overall experience was still pretty good. I would come back here again. And I don't have a problem recommending this place for people that just want good fresh breakfast at the type of place the locals eat at. read more

My Cafe is more than just incredible food -- it's about the love and aloha the staff put into everything they do. Every time I visit the island, I come here for their Country Fried Steak. I grew up in Virginia on true country fare, and I've had Country Fried Steak from coast to coast -- even make my own -- but nothing compares to My Cafe's. It's the best I've ever had: crispy, tender, smothered in perfectly seasoned gravy, with eggs and potatoes that round it out beautifully. For me, it's reason enough to get on a plane. But what makes this place unforgettable is the people. On my last day before flying back to California, I told the staff this was my last stop before leaving the island and how sad I was it would be awhile before I could return. Just before I drove off to the airport, they came running out with a Banana Mac Nut Waffle -- free of charge -- so my kids could enjoy one more taste of Hawaii. That small act of kindness meant the world to me. It wasn't just food; it was family, it was aloha. That's why I'll always come back. Stopped by for Juneteenth with a friend so we could catch up! There were a good bit of people waiting but we got sat in about 20-25 minutes. Me and wifey got seated right away; got there around 930ish am but by 10am, the line had about 10 ppl already. Since space is limited, you're pretty close to the table and ppl dining next to you. So if you're into having your space and all that, you might not like the spacing here. So glad I decided to make the trek out to Kapolei to try My Cafe because everything was amazing! I was drawn to this business initially because of their pancake flight, but seeing that they have chicken fried steak as well cemented my decision to go. We were told there was a 30 minute wait when we arrived, but it actually only took about 15 minutes to be seated. The interior is on the small side, with plastic dividers still in between each table. Of course I had to get the pancake flight, as well as the chicken fried steak & eggs. Tip: you can sub one of the pancakes in the flight with their malasada pancake for extra. Definitely do this because the malasada pancake was the best thing we ate and honestly one of my favorite things I've eaten this year so far. It featured fried exterior pancakes dusted in sugar sandwiching a light custard cream. I LOVED how creative and delicious this dish was; it really reminded me of eating a cream filled malasada. It was the perfect size and not too sweet either. I also really enjoyed their cookie butter pancakes. The chicken fried steak I got was huge and really yummy as well. Their gravy is super creamy and rich. I recommend getting their home fried potatoes as a starch. Ordered the pancake flight, which came with 3 shortstacks (2 pancakes per flavor): Lilikoi, Ube, and Biscoff. The Lilikoi one is a sweet and tart bite, while the Ube is more of a thicker, darker pancake that's the least sweet of the three. Okay, I did it. I told you guys I was going back with my family! This time, it was a party of 10 and a baby. They were still able to accommodate us on a busy Sunday afternoon, even with the post-church rush. They quoted our wait time 45 mins, which was pretty accurate. I tried the iced coffee, flight of pancakes, and kalua pig hash. Iced coffee does the job well (it's just coffee and ice but I'm fine with that), the flight was so flavorful. I'm not a fan of lilikoi so I can't speak on that. But the cookie butter and coconut haupia? So moist, soft, and just enough to share samples around the table. The kalua pig hash was so delicious as well! It definitely trumps the brisket hash as my new favorite. Only critique is, I don't care for the fried rice. It's over saturated with too much flavors, and it's a little too wet for my taste. But again, you might love it. After dining (since we were the last party), a man who seemed to be either the cook or the owner, asked us how the experience was. I also overheard him telling the girls on staff "great job today". Awesome leadership right there. Pretty cool to see as well some encouragement written on the walls, as they have the fruits of the spirit a part of their decor. Just a nice reminder to be a decent human to others, you know? The family agreed that My Cafe (although pricey), is a new favorite spot. The Flight of Pancakes consists of Mini style Cookie Butta Luva, Chocolate Taro-haupia, & Lilikoi pancakes. This place is known for pancakes they didn't disappoint. There were delicious! I've tried a few different things on their menu, and I keep going back for the veggie fried rice, BEAST, bagel breakfast sandwich, kalua hash, Jalisco.......I guess I just keep going back. Sometimes I'll get a malasada pancake or the flight of pancakes for dessert. My mom never leaves without the avolicious smoothie. The waiting process is actually really nice, you wait outside and when you walk in, your table is ready with water and utensils already set. The food itself is good and we didn't have a long wait, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the service is where things really missed the mark for us. After getting our food, no one checked on our table while we were eating. We were only halfway through our meal, the bill was dropped off, and just a few minutes after we were asked if we were ready to check out while still eating. At one point, my daughter was still finishing her bagel when the server asked to clear plates, but we politely said no thanks, then moments later she returned saying she was just going to clear things anyway. That felt rushed and honestly a bit rude. Dining in should feel welcoming, not like you're being pushed out the door. Even my daughter noticed and said, "They didn't even check on us." I really hope they can work on understanding what true dine-in service feels like, which is checking in with guests, allowing people to enjoy their meals, and creating a comfortable environment instead of one that feels rushed. We still tipped because that's just who we are, but I left wishing the service matched the quality of the food. read more
