Overall, Coffee Bean gets 5+ stars. I go there weekly and I'm always satisfied with not only my order but the customer service. The guys & gals are always so nice. However yesterday 5/6 at 11:30am, whoever the girl on the register was at that time, ruined my mood. I went in with a friend and my sister, in a great mood, greeted her with a nice "hello" and I get nothing. No response or a smile, just a plain ugly stare as if I didn't just say anything. No acknowledgement whatsoever. And right then and there my mood was ruined. Rude. Didn't even want to be there anymore. At least the dude working behind her asked "how's it going" and it kind of made us feel better. Like damn, if you don't want to be there, at least fake it like some people do. So, I usually go to starbucks... but I have to say coffee bean has them beat by a long shot. Our go to drinks here are the peach green tea, and the vanilla cafe. They're always busy, but honestly every time I've came they hustled and we never have to wait long. Once they forgot about our order, but we brought it to their attention and they were nice enough to make our drinks larger for free since they forgot about our order. The staff have all been so nice, except the last time I went the cashier Alexandri (according to my receipt that's her name) was incredibly rude I don't know if she was having an off day, but it was disgusting the attitude she had. This place is filthy. The tables are all dirty and the staff are totally out of it. There is not order, no urgency, a line of people waiting. My coffee was cold and just sitting out. I've gone to Coffee bean off and on ever since I moved here 8 years ago. When I first started going the baristers were pleasant and there was one in particular who always had something nice to say and was very accomodating and thorough at her job. Over the years I've noticed a decline in the quality of customer services and I haven't seen the nice barister I mentioned above for a while. There are a few barristers; one in particular, who always has a scowl on her face and acts like she's doing the customer a great favor. She is very resentful if a customer needs a special order like I always do as I cannot have sugar or dairy due to health conditions. I've stayed away for months before due to this rudeness. Today, for the first time in a while I decided to give them a try again. I was in a good mood when I first went there but left feeling really rotten. There was a newer barrister who was okay at first even though I was the more friendly one in manner. She acted snide when I couldn't recall the name of something. The other rude barrister was her usual cantakerous self. Needless to say I will be avoiding going back there once again for a while hoping that the place straightens out its act. Their tea is fine but my order has been wrong several times. I usually don't say anything because I hate for anything to be wasted. I had to one time because I was given a sweetened tea when I asked for a plain hot Earl Grey. The nice barrister was working there at the time and she was very sweet and apologetic, even asking me if it was okay when they remade it. Otherwise, they are all apparenlty too busy socializing among themselves to care about good customer service. I'm surprised they don't get more bad reviews than they do but I see several that complain of basically the same thing I am. I get the impression that no one is overseeing the place for quality of customer service and production. read more

Needed to stay awake heading down the hill from Lancaster back to Laguna Beach so I stopped at The Coffee Bean. I needed a jolt and the barista suggested a Mocha Frap and boy did it do the trick. Great tasting and kept me awake for the entire 123 miles. read more

WHERE DO I START?!!! This specific shop is 40 miles from my house but I don't think twice on coming here multiple times a week. They have hit the jackpot with the employees they have because there is not one I can complain about, not a single one. They all greet me immediately as I walk in the door in an excited, welcoming manner. The vibe here is always great & the employees are hands down, what keeps us all coming back I can guarantee it. They have absolutely perfected my drink, as picky as I am I say that with LOVE and honesty lol. Trust me, come here and you will not be let down in any way shape or form. It's crispy clean all the way down to the cracks in the bathrooms, the drinks are phenomenal, the rewards program beneficial, & the employees top notch. Keep it up guys!!! Now that their WiFi is fixed I will NEVER go to Starbucks again! This place really has it figured out. Yes while some of their drinks look like Starbucks, I found out that the Coffee Bean started 50 years ago in 1963! They also started in good ole' Southern California (Brentwood). Drinks are phenomenal and the staff is some of the friendliest in the valley. They really make you feel welcome! Try the Winter Dream Tea Latte and you'll be hooked for good! read more

This is by far my most favorite Coffee Bean and I will admit, I have been to a lot of them. =D Not only is the staff here awesome but they never fail to make my drink to its fullest perfection! Also, I have been coming here for so long that when I walk in, they tell me my order rather then me telling them haha. (not that its changed in the last 4 years haha). Even though there are a few times I go in and one of the staff and I will play the same game: "Maybe I'll change it up today .." And 9 times out of 10 I never do. haha. I live in Hollywood and visit my Mom and Grandma on the weekends. I rarely go to Coffee Bean; I prefer Starbucks, Blue Bottle, and other places. I was hoping to be productive and work at Coffee Bean today. The internet needs to be fixed. It was very spotty. It was fast at first, then slow, then fast then slow again. I felt frustrated. If Starbucks is the coffee industry's "McDonald's", then The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is easily a "Carl's Jr. or above" (better, but nothing phenomenal). The drinks I get from CBTL are almost always miles ahead of Starbucks in terms of flavor and feel. The staff at this particular CBTL has always been good to me. Good music on the sound system. Decent prices. Here's a tip though: if you get a non-blended iced drink, you will definitely want to specify "light/easy ice", as CBTL tends to stuff these with far too much ice, essentially making you pay 3-5 dollars for a cup of ice with a little bit of beverage thrown in for flavor. This location is convenient, and parking is relatively a stress-free ordeal. It's CBTL, quick, tasty coffee. If you've had CBTL before, you know what to expect, as it's just another chain coffee shop. Of course, it is no substitute for the individuality and excitement of smaller, more interesting coffee places. Butler's Coffee is not even a mile away from here if you have the time. If you want to try some seriously good brews away from the AV area, stop by a place in Little Tokyo LA called Demitasse. Now THAT's coffee. It's things like that that I use as a benchmark for coffee. I like coming here but a few suggestions to improve the place. The men's restroom is not maintained. One time I did alert staff about tissue paper running low. Plus, I don't know if there is a cleaning schedule. I always see the men's restroom a little messy every time I visit. Today, I ordered a regular Earl Grey Tea; but the young lady sold me a Latte Early Grey. I wondered why the tea was sweet. She should have asked what kind of tea. This is the 4th time I've ordered an espresso drink from this location where the espresso tastes kind of strange. It just doesn't taste like coffee, there's a strange chemical flavor that I have only tasted at this coffee bean location. Maybe the machines need to be cleaned? The beans they are using might be different? I've visited this location and ordered giving them the benefit of the doubt, but it just keeps happening. I was visiting from out of town and couldn't find a Starbucks to save my life, so I stopped into this Coffee Bean to get caffeinated. Glad I did. Very comfortable place, lots of seating. It was clean, the coffee was hot and tasted great. Call it timing but if you can relate to needing some coffee on a cold day and then walking into a nice warm place and a girl named "Rosa" smiles and hands you a steaming cup of coffee. I'm in this place 3 or 4 times a week. They greet me by name when I walk in and that was before I started going a lot! Their coffee hands down kicks Starbucks butt and is less expensive! I've had the ice blended coffees as well as the hot coffees and it's all good. My wife likes their various teas as well. Free wifi too and a really cool gas fire pit outside for cooler evenings when you want to hang with your friends. No funny smells that I've ever smelled in there. I know people that hang there for long periods of time on a fairly regular basis, so if the place smelled weird, they wouldn't hang out there. The other reviewer is right about ordering to go, though not because of taxes, but because they put your coffee in a mug if you order it for there. So the extra fee is I suppose a cleaning fee for the mug when you're finished. If you order to go, you get your drink in a disposable cup but you are welcome to stay there and drink it. read more

The Bean can make almost every drink on the menu sugar free/fat free. Not true at Sbucks. SOOOOO much better than Sbucks. I don't drink coffee -- that's why I like this place. Their tea has always been wonderful. Their green tea iced blended reminds me of the matcha drink I had in Tokyo. The folks who work here are very friendly. And their goodies taste much better than the Sbucks across the street. I was really surprised when this opened in Palmdale. It took Sbucks so #&%$ long to discover people in the AV drink coffee too. I figured I'd be old and gray before 'the Bean' made it out here. But I'm real happy about the company's decision. I wish they'd build one in Rosamond (beat Sbucks out there). But I'd gain 50 pounds because I'd be there everyday. They have interesting outdoor seating. Too bad it's on the windy side of the building. A few weekends ago we went in there and there were three people working. One girl and two guys. It took a few minutes for them to take our order, because they were busy discussing their weekend plans. No one else was in there but us. Once they took the order they continued talking while we stood waiting. Finally the girl went to make our drinks, while continuing to talk. 10 minutes in, the drinks finally made it to the blender. She then walked in the back with one of the guys and never came back. Our drinks sat in the blender. Finally my husband got so upset he knocked on the door. She cane out with a look to kill. My husband said, look you have customers and you should be doing this on your own time. She gave him a dirty look and smart mouthed at him. This was extremely unprofessional. The cashier was super rude! She gave me attitude when I asked her a question about a drink! If she doesn't like her job, she needs to quit. All the employees need customer service training. I love it!!! My new fave place to get some hot chocolate, coffee, tea. I would even said this ice chai tea is really good compare to the Starbucks one. Very friendly people. Love using the app as well. The only issue is that you can't pay with your debit card on the app you have to get their reward car or gift card something like that. If you're in the mood for a nice hot tea this is a good spot to visit. I enjoy the selection of teas to choose from including the earl grey latte which is currently my favorite choice. I also enjoy the malibu dream during the summertime when I am craving a smoothie. This smoothie includes banana and strawberries.
