I wanted to give 3 stars because I'm really "not sure" ...wanted to give 5 because I used to come here ALL of the time to study for school 10-15 years ago as my favorite coffee shop. Used to have so much more character. Seems pretty cookie cutter atp. Plus with all the renovations nobody asked for is now like $10 for a medium iced latte. I hope they also increased their pay for the staff who are usually pleasant enough. I'd also suggest maybe they can invest in sharpies or something to actually identify what drink and whose they are serving up at the counter. I wish instead of totally gutting it they may have considered just replacing the worn out furniture. Slightly disappointing but convenient location, Caffeine and WiFi. Good for them I guess. Stopped by the Coffee Plantation to get some computer work done. The cafe was easy to get to with plenty of parking (the plaza itself in has lots of parking). Inside, there was plenty of seating for those who are casually stopping in and those looking to work on their computers. There are lots of electrical plugs near seating for that purpose! - which is a HUGE factor for me. The menu was large - both with food and drink options. In my opinion, the coffee itself was not my favorite, at all. I'd try a different drink next time I go. I am assuming the culprit was the sugar free vanilla syrup, so I won't recommend that. I'd be excited to pair another drink with one of their pastries on my next trip - they looked fantastic! A huge plus - they have lot of staff on duty and are regularly keeping up with cleaning the cafe - INCLUDING their bathrooms, which was a pleasant add on to this experience. read more

I have been on the hunt for a good latte in Scottsdale, and the search continues... I first have to say that the remodeled Coffee Plantation is gorgeous! The plants, lighting, green tiles, signage, etc. are all so cheerful and welcoming! Also, it isn't a loud coffee shop. Those two factors alone make this a great place to hang out. I ordered a plain, hot latte to more easily taste the quality and asked for a real cup, because it is better for the environment and adds to the experience of having a handcrafted coffee drink. First, I was disappointed that it didn't have any latte art. Second, it was just okay. I mostly tasted the cream; the coffee flavor was a bit elusive. My friend and I shared an avocado toast. It wasn't bad, but needed more acid. I would come back for the atmosphere and would just order differently. read more

One of my least favorite coffee places I've ever been in Phoenix. The coffee doesn't taste good and the prices are insane. There is a whole $1 up charge for a splash of soy milk in a cold brew. We asked for cinnamon on our cortado, and they just dumped a huge spoonful. Seems like there is a lack of care because it's a busy spot, which is definitely disappointing. Don't be deceived by the long lines after church. There are plenty of other spots close by that are much better and way cheaper! read more

On a hot summer day, a frappe sounded amazing and the mocha mind freeze hit the spot. It is a large busy location but was comfortable and easy to hold a conversation. The only reason I don't give it the full 5 stars is the lack of options for the person I was with who is gluten free. Delicious Coffee and Breakfast Spot located in Scottsdale. The service is great and the cashier/baristas are really good with recommending drinks. I got the Chocolate Pistachio Latte and deeply enjoyed it. The chocolate was rich and the pistachio flavor was subtle but complimentary. I've been to this Coffee Plantation location many times before, but this is the first time I swung by since the renovation, and everything looks great! The interior is more inviting, lighter and brighter, and comfortable. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the selection of decor, right down to the realistic artificial plants hanging from the ceiling to the lamps that match the surroundings so well. My wife and I sat in a cozy booth to grab an espresso pick-me-up after eating dinner nearby. She ordered a standard double espresso, and I ordered a cortado. Both were delicious. They have an accompaniment area where you can doctor up your own drink, though it would be nice if they had creamers of various sorts out. (Maybe they do in the mornings; I'm not sure.) I visited the restroom, and it was entirely remodeled as well and looks great. I can definitely see how this was needed in order to continue to compete, and I think this should do the trick. This place has always had something of a loyal following, and I think this will only enhance that. They didn't pull anything great away and only improved things, in my opinion. Looking forward to trying the food and their cold brew on another visit to see if they're still as good as they were prior to the remodel. They did have quite a few pastry and snack items for sale when I visited, though they were a bit overpriced. That said, they looked great, and I could see myself splurging on a date or something if I really wanted something. Here's wishing The Coffee Plantation the best of success going forward! read more

This coffee shop is gonna turn into my new favorite study spot. One of my classmates had a study group here and it was my first time hearing of this place although I am new to living in Scottsdale. I then came back here again myself to study and decided to try one of their Nutella crepes with banana slices and whipped creme. Omg it was so freaking delicious. It's also a huge crepe and the worker was so nice she had added strawberries to it as well. I'm actually craving it again that I might have to stop in here again soon just to have another crepe! There's lots of tables and outlets and a few booths. The music isn't too loud so it's perfect for studying. read more

First visit at this place, but definitely not the last! There are a few breakfast and lunch options, such as sandwiches and crepes, but I only had a coffee to start with. Ok Coffee Plantation, I see you and I will absolutely be back. This location went through a major and very needed renovation. Honestly it looked the same 16 to 17 years ago when I first started coming here, so this refresh was long overdue and they truly delivered. What I love most is that they did not turn it into just another tiny trendy coffee shop that feels rushed or uninviting. Instead they created a space that makes you want to stay awhile. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which makes it great whether you want to settle in with your laptop or meet up with friends. They also bring your order to you, which is such a nice touch. I ordered an iced americano and it was genuinely well made which always matters. My friend ordered both coffee and food and when it came out I was honestly jealous. I had been a little skeptical before, but not anymore. This is not just a coffee spot. They clearly have solid food options too. It is so close to home and definitely needs to be pulled into my regular rotation. Beautifully updated interior! I'd love to see more bakery items added, but the iced cinnamon rolle latte was great. Lots of indoor seating and outdoor seating (with misters!) so it's a great place to check out. Salads, sandwiches and crepes as well as muffins, cookies and scones. I visited The Coffee Plantation during its initial opening and found the environment quite loud, with customer service that did not meet expectations. I decided to give it another chance. While it was somewhat quieter at first, a very loud machine began operating through my visit. I am not sure what it was, some sort of baking machine?, but the noise was disruptive enough that my noise-canceling headphones didn't even work. I ordered a 16oz vanilla latte with oat milk and cold foam and was surprised when the total came to $11.06. Although the drink itself tasted good, it was mostly ice, and given the price, I would not order it again. The combination of noise level and price made this experience disappointing. That said, I do appreciate the abundance of seating and the overall aesthetic of the space, which are definite positives. read more

Absolutely LOVE this spot Tasty coffee, yummy tea, fabulous food, and the ambience is unbeatable! Staff is also super friendly and fun! I've been coming here since 2014 to tutor my classmates in high school and it's still my go to spot to get work done and hang with friends!! Everyone I introduce this place to absolutely loves it and the recent remodel made it even better!!! If you're looking for lunch recommendations, get the Chicken Pesto sandwich, it's soooo good!!! Someone in my family mentioned that Coffee Plantation had their grand reopening, and although I hadn't been to them at all before they renovated, I knew I had to go now. Upon arrival, I was surprised to see the lobby was bustling with well dressed office workers and students. The lobby is extremely spacious with lots of tables and space between them so you're not bumping elbows with a stranger. It's also very open. Behind the counter where the baristas operate is huge and you can see pretty much every ingredient they put into the brews. Shown is their new menu, since I didn't see an updated version on here yet. I'm happy to see a cafe that serves food outside of just simple pastries and sandwiches. I ordered a latte with almond milk, which is a dollar extra (this will be important later) and a banana muffin. My receipt totaled $14.74, including my $1.80 tip. My coffee was ready momentarily and I headed home. I mention the almond milk because when I got home and took my first sip, I could taste the distinct flavor of dairy milk. Now, I am very lenient when it comes to mistakes like this but I wish my first impression of the place hadn't been me paying an extra dollar for regular milk. On the flavor side, the coffee wasn't anything special. I normally love the unique coffee brews of small businesses but this one tasted average. The banana muffin was really good texturally, but again, the flavor lacked the oomph that makes me a returning customer at other spots. This won't be my last visit, as I'm very intrigued by their food, but it didn't rank highly in comparison to others. My last comment is on their branding. I think for a small business their branding is pretty good, they have their own cup sleeves with QR codes, a stylized menu and of course the lobby matches. Good spot but the staff should spend more time routinely cleaning the tables throughout the day. Tables often have bits and food and trash left on them and are usually not wiped off unless you ask. When baristas are not busy behind the counter they should be clearing and wiping tables. read more

Always on the hunt for great coffee!! Back in the "other" days, Coffee Plantation was my usual go-to then they kinda disappeared. Guess what? They are back!! The new location in Scottsdale is pretty awesome keeping some of the original foundation and colors, giant area for relaxing both inside and out with that same welcoming green hue hinted at in various ways and super kind folks that work there. The coffee is unique with slight nutty and citrus overtones in the Cold Brew and stronger notes in the hot Americano. They offer smaller and larger sizes, the space is a modern upgrade to what it used to be and the menu offers lots of custom items. Definitely worth the trip! read more

The coffee and food are fine. Average or slightly above average. However, the service is bad. I've been here twice and both times it took forever to get food. The first time, two orders of avocado toast took about 20 minutes. I asked for it to go, and they gave it to me to eat in. The second time was even worse. It took about 30 minutes for two breakfast burritos! They're skimping on staff and it shows. Also, in the 30 minutes I waited, I saw numerous people coming to the counter with incorrect or incomplete orders. I will not be returning. read more
