Snazzy decor. Food and pastry selection too small (and too dried out). Don't like that you have to repurchase wi-fi every hour. I understand why they do it, but I will sit in there for hours and spend lots of money - I just don't want to have to do it when the proverbial clock strikes twelve. Friendly and unpretentious with a wide selection. A great place to get work done, if you can find a seat. I came here after having brunch at Big Jones down the street, and got coffee to go. I would've sat but it was so crowded (a beautiful Sunday afternoon so people were out and about) I got a cafe au lait but they had a wide selection of coffees and teas (duh). I'm really happy that 1) the menu is large so it's easy to read and 2) everything had a description. I liked that because it seems less snobby--I'm not a huge coffee person. The baristas were very nice and patient. They made our drinks very quickly and they were delicious! Beautiful space, looks like a great place to get work done even though it was very crowded (clearly popular). I loved checking out the merchandise/home goods! Found this spot one cold snowy day a couple years ago. Loved the caramelatte they serve. Have only gone back a few times since as my commute to work leads me in a different direction, but I try to get over there when I can. I understand that pouring/brewing the perfect coffee is an art form, but it kind of stinks to have to stand around to wait for a latte to be poured with a cute little design on it. The baristas that I have encountered are not friendly at all, a smile goes a long way! Obviously, this has not been a deterrent for me, but just a heads up for people who are more impatient than me. This place is very zen! I came in on a cold night about 2 weeks ago and fell in love with the place. I'm a big tea fan, and definitely recommend the Buddha Green Tea. They'll even give you a timer, so you don't let it steep too long. I'm with everyone else on the WiFi thing. It's free for an hour, but I think their prices justify free indefinitely. It would be nice if they at least signed on with a popular WiFi service like AT & T or T-Mobile so users of those services could get it free. read more

The Coffee Studio is a great local haunt. It's really great that they actually use espresso machines that require the barista's skills and talents to shine through as opposed to those vending machines they now have at Starbucks. I love The Coffee Studio and have been coming here for nearly 4 years! I like most of the people that work there, but I am very particular about who makes my drink. If I see a barista at the bar that makes good lattes I will order a latte, if not I will order coffee... Not everyone is cut out to make espresso drinks. The aspiring writer/Craigslist jockey set arrives by 7 a.m. and grabs all the available seating, leaving actual paying customers relegated to purchasing everything to-go and departing Coffee Studio. Seriously --there is nowhere to sit during regular business hours. Half of Andersonville has decided to make Coffee Studio their private office, and it's having a measurable effect on business. If your looking for a really good coffee in a trendy setting this is a great place. My experience is fast friendly service and great organic coffee. I have not tried any of their food yet so I can not comment on that, but the coffee alone is worth another trip back. read more

Super amazing customer service! This is my second time visiting the Coffee Studio, and I've been pleased both times, but this visit made it a 5 star. I went in with an unusual request for a small amount of powdered espresso for a baking project and was in a bit of a time crunch. The manager at first seemed stressed but upon noticing I was in a hurry, asked what she could do for me. I asked for the espresso and even though they didn't have a price ready for the small amount I needed, she made it work! They were wonderfully accommodating and definitely went above and beyond for the customer. I'll totally be back. read more

This is a cozy little coffee shop - great espresso and a great, unique atmosphere. The drawback, in my opinion, was that their wi-fi, via the webbeams service, only gives you an hour per code. I'm personally not super pleased when coffee shops use webbeams but hey. Overall, I was a happy camper at the studio. read more

Best coffee around. The staff gets to know you, your order, and ask about what you've been up to! One of the baristas makes sure to remember specifics about my job; it's so nice to know a place you go several times a week recognizes your patronage. I have been here a million times to work on homework or to just have a quick snack and I like it a lot. I had a banana chocolate chip bread and I liked it a lot. I also had a mocha and that was really good but one thing made me give it 4 stars instead of 5. The reason I gave it 4 stars was because the staffer that was at the counter when we ordered was a little rude. Not to her other coworkers but just with customers. She didn't do anything in particular she just wasn't friendly like all the other staffers who are funny and friendly. I really love the coffee, but I strongly dislike the vibe! They don't carry almond milk, which is fine, but it would be a nice option for the lactose intolerant and the Monsanto soy-averse. Also, you only get an hour of WiFi with a purchase, which is ridiculous when there are plenty of places in the area with free WiFi indefinitely. And it's just such a waste of time and paper to constantly get up to get another code. I have never felt like I could stay here all day, which I know plenty of people do-- but why would you? There's no option for you to add simple syrup to the coffee unless you ask them to. But since it's behind the counter you can't control how much they put in your coffee. So I ended up with an iced latte that was way too sweet to drink. Wouldn't it be easier if they had the simple syrup next to the sugar and the rest of the coffee fixings where anybody could add exactly the right amount they want in their coffee? Another thing that I can't understand is why they'd only do 12oz matchas. Their matchas are pretty concentrated as they are, so technically they could use the same amount of matcha tea and just add more milk to it for a larger drink, but they just won't do it. And for a coffee place that has the prices they have these things should be givens. For example, the matcha with non dairy milk is about 8 dollars. I believe for that price I should be able to get it in a larger glass and with more than 12oz of milk if I want to... They don't have light cream cheese either, so you have to settle for full fat cream cheese with your bagel. And you can only access internet for 60 minutes, which is honestly ridiculous if you want to work there. read more

I've never reviewed, but I was prompted to tell everyone about the amazing iced mocha I had this weekend. I don't know what they put in it, but it was the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot). The guy said they make their mocha sauce in-house, so maybe that has something to do with it. Cute place, nice staff, I'll definitely go there again. I loved this place. They had both single origin and standard espresso blend coffees when I was there. Also Cafe Solos brewed to order which made my day. A year or more ago, I might have given this place 4 1/2 stars. Sure, I'm not a big minimalist decor fan, but I could let that slide. My soy latte was always "good enough", but never quite as good as another local place I like. I felt some "attitude tension" when I would walk in, but I tried to let that slide, too. Ok, granted, most people don't put honey in their soy lattes. But I don't do well with sugar. The Coffee Studio does not keep honey on their little cream/sugar/lid bar. You have to ask for it. It's really quiet in there, and I always feel like I'm somehow out of line, as half the cafe can overhear me ask for some honey. They say "sure"... but I don't get the feeling that they really want to give it to me. Same scene every time. I feel like a teenager asking for condoms in the drug store. Ok... so I try to get past that. But the last time I went, the (hit-or-miss friendly--but not TOO friendly) barista... was flat out rude to me. I didn't really understand how the "points card" worked, and when she had to repeat herself, she seemed quite angry with me!... She then avoided any more eye contact with me and hurried me on so that she could cooly wait on the next customer. Also, when I had asked her earlier if they could somehow make my iced latte stronger (it's sorta like a chocolate milk!)... she snapped a response, too.
