They cancel public ice skating with no notice, when they do have ice skating it's disorganized, dirty, and poorly maintained.

I was in Lewiston for the NCAA Division III College Hockey Championships last weekend. The Colisee was a good venue for this event. Parking was cheap and easy and the event staff helpful. Ok, it's not a new venue and only seats 2,600 or so but, that's what makes it nice. No insane crowds or crazy parking fees. I grew up in Lewiston and remember the Colisee from 30 or 40 years ago and I have to stay it has held up well. Most arenas of that vintage have long ago been bulldozed. read more

Went there to see a Bush/Theory of a Deadman concert on a night that it started snowing and it just kept going. We drove by it once about an hour early to see where it was and probably should have stopped as there was plenty of room in the parking lot. Instead we went looking for dinner and ended up at a Denny's due to the timing and the other places were pretty crowded. When we went back it was still snowing, the parking lot was full, the parking attendants were no help, drove around for about 10 minutes and parked on the street. Not much to say about the inside, it was a concert down on the Colisee floor, we sat in the seats for a little while between acts, nothing fancy, the food was typical "sports arena" type food with huge lines for beer. When we left it was still snowing and I'm somewhat glad we weren't in the parking lot as it was a mess to get out of but we had to hike through piled up snow to get back to our car. read more

So many people walking around with "drinks" for extended amount of time, with their masks down their chins. I watched kids sit their butts on the area of the picnic tables in front of the snack shack where people eat. Eww. I feel like we'd enjoy this venue so much more if COVID wasn't a thing. It's pretty small but not having equipment to use was never a problem for me. They relatively recently opened the fitness facility up to the public as its main use is one on one personal training classes. For only $25 a month you get unlimited access during particular time slots during the day. At first I thought this rigid schedule was a downside, but in actuality, the compartmentalized options gave me two to three times in a day to feel guilty for not going! So I think it helped keep me more on a schedule than anything else! The changing facilities are standard, with lockers (bring your own lock if you feel strongly about it but I never did), bathrooms and showers (bring your own supplies) Overall, this place is great. I think it's still a hidden gem because more often than not I was working out alone!...Though that may just be midcoast Maine too. :P They have a super nice skating rank and equally nice tennis courts you can rent out for $30/hr too.

When we noticed an opening, we asked nearby drivers if we could squeeze in, and they had no issue with it. As we were parking, an employee approached us in a very aggressive and unprofessional manner and told us we could not park there. We apologized and explained that we were not from the area and had not seen any signs. We were told that the rule was "well known to locals" and that a sign existed at the front of the line--more than 25 cars ahead, making it impossible for us to see. Despite the surrounding drivers having no objection, the employee demanded we leave and became increasingly hostile when we asked questions or requested a manager. At that point, the interaction escalated unnecessarily, and we decided it wasn't worth the confrontation and left. I've never experienced such a level of rudeness from a staff member over an honest misunderstanding. Clear signage and more professional communication would have avoided the entire situation. Someone even yelled out "stop being a parking nazi". I would have otherwise liked to review the venue itself, but we were unable to do so as we never made it inside.

There is a parking lot and we were able to find parking but I'm sure it gets full at peak times. We enjoyed the hike and the waterfalls. It was in late May so there were quite a few people there. It's a peaceful spot to relax, sit in the pool, and just enjoy nature. I'm glad my family and I got to visit during this trip!

Nice picnic spots and places to sit and admire the view. This is a popular park in Summer, especially in nice weather, so parking could be a challenge. If you're in the area, definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to leave your money in the box at the entrance of you don't have a Maine State Park pass so we can keep state parks like this open and maintained.
