We stayed right down the road at the Wentworth and decided to give them a call to see if we could squeeze into a same day sleigh ride. Our "fire tender" (whose name is escaping me, but I do remember it was only his second day) was very personable and made sure we had a warm fire to stand by while we waiting for our sleigh. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were the only people booked for our time slot and got a private ride with Sydney, and her two horses, Tom and Hank. The lights were amazing. She stopped a few times to tell us about history of the location as well as other events they do. It was a lovely romantic experience with my fiancé. read more

I used to watch Hallmark films and think to myself "who comes up with these incredibly unrealistic locations where you can sleigh ride and ice skate on a frozen lake while winter tunes play" but then I visited Nestlenook and now realize that I was merely naive BECAUSE IT IS REAL. This place is a Hallmark movie come to life. My friends and I skated on a frozen lake for an hour while horse pulled sleighs circled the perimeter and strategically placed speakers made it seem like handbell covers of classic songs played from the ether. And just when we thought our day could not get any better WE GOT A SMORE KIT. We sat by the multiple well-tended outdoor firepits and roasted marshmallows as the sun set and the twinkling lights around the Farm turned on, creating a scene that can really only be described as a Hallmark movie come to life. Icing on top was the dog that was behind the ticket counter and the fact that all the buildings were pink and yellow and gingerbread-esque. 10000/10 will be coming back when ever I have children to create probably the most magical experience of their life. I will never doubt a Hallmark film every again. read more

This place continues to go downhill. They had barely and snow and ice, and yet were charging full price to skate. Completely understand this is your revenue source but if you aren't going to take care of your guests then repeat visits and referrals will be non-existent. Will not answer the phone. Run very poorly. Our sleigh ride driver could only talk about how much he hated the owners. And he literally never stopped talking about it for the entire sleigh ride. Now we want to go ice skating at their pond and we don't know if it's frozen because the temperatures around 32°. Called them 1000x to check if it's open before we make the 30 minute drive out there, but they will not answer the phone, even though they are currently open. I would never come back to nestlenook. It says it's a magical place on the gate, but there's nothing magical about it. I expected a winter wonder land, but what I got was poor costumer service, a poorly run facility, and a sleigh driver that spent the entire sleigh ride literally facing us, talking about how much he hates the owners. I'm sorry.. but if you want to take all of the magic out of a sleigh ride... have your driver never stop talking about how much he hates his two bosses. If I could give this place a zero I would, highly recommend you go somewhere else. You could honestly have a more magical winter wonder land experience with your family just driving around the white mountains. You'd stay a lot warmer too. read more

The only thing we did at the farm is the jingle bell chocolate tour. It was absolutely adorable like right out of a storybook. The horses have personality of their own which is really fun. The guys are running over super nice and when we went to all the inns It was super fun meeting all the people and hearing about the chocolates that they made The only recommendation I would make for the future is that it would be preferred if all chocolates would be wrapped up as the only complaint and I wouldn't even consider that one. Do not ignore the urging to bring your own blanket because you're definitely going to need one for this sleigh ride. It was so beautiful to see all the lights and the most perfect Santa who was tending a very nice warm fire. Although we came last minute on Christmas Eve, the staff was as accommodating as they could be (reservations are absolutely recommended) and according to my husband, they also serve the best hot chocolate!! Wow, wow, wow! What a magical, amazing, wonderful experience. My husband and I came here on Valentine's Day with our 19 year-old nephew and 11 year-old niece and we all had such a memorable time. We booked a 1pm sleigh ride ($95), 5 minutes in my niece said, "I feel like I'm in a Hallmark movie!" She wasn't wrong. That's how this place feels. After our sleigh ride we had a snowball fight, just because. Afterwards we checked in to the front desk to add-on ice skating and snowshoeing ($98). Ice skating was fun. Some of us had done it before but my husband and nephew never had so what an experience to do it in an outdoor pond. We enjoyed the large warming hut with the fire stove, my only suggestion would be benches around the pond for families to take a break, leave their belongings, or just keep an eye on their kids. After ice skating we picked up our snowshoeing which ended up being a quick and simple to learn activity. After strapping on our snowshoes we were hiking along the trail enjoying the sights. To round out our day at Nestlenook we helped ourselves to complimentary hot cocoa (super yummy) and purchased a s'mores bag ($10) complete with graham crackers, marshmallows, and Hershey bars as well as long sticks to use for roasting the marshmallows. I highly recommend Nestlenook Farm and know we made memories to last a lifetime. The staff was quite pleasant as well. read more

Nestlenook farm has awesome views! Breathtaking views of the white mountains!! the grounds are tired and definitely in need of some TLC. The rooms are very oversized and have the basic necessities! the staff is helpful with regard to local restaurants and activities! On my visit, 2-nite stay, we had no water on 4 occasions and ran out of hot water twice! The outdoor pool and hot tub were not in commission! If you are looking for a quite getaway in the white mountains with no fluff, then this is your place! I was a bit disappointed with the overall appearance of the grounds and the tired "feel" of the resort as a whole! I would not go there again... for the cost of the room, I expected a little bit more! read more

Definitely worth a visit, especially at night. Giving 3 stars because management needs to step it up. Maintain ice so skating is actually possible. Create a separate, clearly marked line for popcorn and hot chocolate. Actually prepare popcorn and hot chocolate. The machine was empty while 3 staff were working hard to get people skates and 3 other staff were 10 feet away doing nothing. Hot chocolate machine was empty as well (during our entire visit). Just create a better system. The farm is so beautiful and folks are so nice, especially staff running the sleighs. Make some of these improvements and it will enhance customer experience and create more efficiency for all, including the staff. read more

We went up on a whim to Nestlenook! I've gone horse sleigh riding with 20 of my girlfriends a way back and had a terrific time. I thought it would be a nice surprise to bring my Fiance for his B'day. I drove down the road and it didn't seem like it was open. It surely was and the woman at the front desk with long black curly hair IS amazing! She was so helpful and kind. We set up to come back a few hours later for a romantic private champagne sleigh ride and some ice skating. Upon arrival back she was still at the desk with an older lady who was also very sweet and helpful. We were off on our sleigh ride and it was gorgeous. The skating was awesome at night and they have a great little warm up gazebo with a fire inside. WE LOVED THIS PLACE. We actually would love to get married in the gardens in the Summer or Fall. It's that beautiful. The place definitely needs some TLC. Just some paint on the bridges and such. BUT..it doesn't take away from the beauty of this place! We had a 6:50 sleigh ride. We opted to pay extra for the rear seat and the champagne. Was about 30 minutes long. It takes you around the property and woods and then back over near the man made skating Pond. The lights and atmosphere was beautiful. They gave you a very warm cozy blanket. Went on a sleigh ride today. What amazing, kind people. All sleigh rides were cancelled due to rain but when 3pm came the rain slowed down. They were prepared to refund our money but bc the rain slowed down and their was 2 birthdays being celebrated they decided to ride. So very grateful for the kind heart can't wait to see them again. How adorable! This place is soo cute. I told my boyfriend that I think this is the prettiest place I have ever ice skated. The frozen pond is huge and it's well maintained. Unlike Boston rinks, you don' t have to worry about 20394839 kids running into you. I love all the bridges and with the snow and the heart wreaths it was pretty romantic. Adult skating is $6 and kids are only $3. My boyfriend rented skates for $5 so the total was $20 which seemed pretty reasonable for the hour. If you participate in skating, sleigh rides, etc. you get free hot chocolate. You just have to buy the bag of marshmallows ($0.50 cents) if you want to roast or add them to your hot cocoa. We roasted some marshmallows by the fire. Only thing I would like to see is another hot drink alternative for those of us who don't drink milk. Free hot cider anyone? They do old fashion sleigh rides which we didn't partake in but their Clydesdale horses and donkeys were everywhere and made for some pretty pictures. I'm not a huge fan of using animals for recreation so I didn't go on the sleigh ride but compared to other places this place seemed like a much better place for animals than other horse places. You could tell the horses werel well cared for. The staff was friendly and can we talk about the faux fur store. How weird but awesome is that? You can buy high quality faux fur pillows, blankets, and coats. Really weird but as an animal lover I was super excited to see only faux!! So big props to them. Second stay here during the winter. So beautiful, peaceful and romantic. Rooms are perfect, balconies views are jaw dropping. The draft horses that live and work there are so beautiful and well cared for. The ice skating pond is amazing with fireplace warmup areas to have hot chocolate when you take a break. Great for a family winter vacation. The outdoor skating pond is beautiful and fun, although when I went it was plagued with cracks and holes that my pond-skating memories tell me could have been better dealt with. We didn't take our boys on a sleigh ride, but I think we will next time. I love Nestlenook Farm. It's so quaint & romantic. It's an inn with activities going on. I've gone on a sleigh ride twice here, and it's so much fun. There's also snow shoeing, cross-country skiing & ice skating. You can roast marshmallows over fire pits & have hot chocolate or snacks from a cart. There's music playing over the ice skating area. There's also a year round heated outdoor pool, which you can use if you are staying on the property. Nestlenook farm looks like a beautiful New England winter scene. It was so perfect! We did a family sleigh ride with 12 of us, (ages 2-68), the was sleigh pulled by two beautiful Belgium horses. It was a spectacular trail along a river , by gazebos and ice skaters. We had great warm blankets to cover us. We made Smores at the fire pit and drank hot chocolate. Some of us went ice skating too. This was on my bucket list to do with the family. It was so perfect, more than I imagined. Nestlenook Farm has a spectacular property and they use it beautifully. I absolutely loved this place! I feel like I was in a winter wonderland. I loved the ice skating pond, the cozy fireplaces, the warm hot chocolate and especially the sleigh ride. Came here for Valentine's Day and had an amazing time. My boyfriend and I took the snowshoe trails. Very fun and something everyone can do. There was ice skating on the pond. Gazebo with fireplace next to pond so you can go in and warm up. At night we went on a sleigh ride. Definitely something everyone needs to try. We had a fur blanket and sparkling cider on the ride. I won't be returning to Nestlenook and I will not recommend it to anyone. Instead of solving a problem and making people feel welcome to return to the establishment, they belittled my experience when I emailed them. If you do end up going to Nestlenook - don't pay for the romance ride, save the $18 extra it cost - you can get the same $8 bottle of champagne to bring with you and still save money and not expect anything more than a ride with 12 people in the sleigh. read more

We came down and stood in the ticket office waiting to get tickets for 20 minutes waiting for the woman behind the desk to get off the phone.
