She was very understanding and kind and right away I felt better about going away knowing she'd be visiting Buddy twice a day while I was gone. My mind was immediately put at ease on day 1 of vacation when I received Krista's photos of Buddy looking very happy and content. New photos continued every day and they were a an added highlight to my trip! Even with an unexpected overnight flight delay, Krista had no problem watching Buddy longer than planned and that is just another reason I will be calling Krista for my next trip. :) You can count on Krista!

They recognize us on site and our dog is never afraid to be left off. We toured pretty much every kennel in the state (8-years ago) and this was by far the best choice. They kept their facilities clean and had friendly professional staff....not high school / college kids. The runs are decent size and our dog never comes back too stinky (i mean, it is a kennel...but not covered in feces or urine like other places we have been). hey also have Dog & cat grooming services. My biggest complaint is they are no longer open on sundays. This really ramps up the cost if you are just doing an overnight from Sat to Sun. Now I can't pick up my dog until Monday afternoon because I have to go to work all day first? That seems a little 'iffy to me.T

Once we started to train him and observe his behavior, it became evident that the dog was left unattended for long periods of time and the breeder was just in it for the money. This was reinforced by the fact that nobody ever answers the phone and there's no capability to leave a voice message. The dog obviously had no socialization with people or other animals in his first five months. He was overly aggressive from the beginning and constantly growled and lunged at people and other dogs, starting with the basic obedience class we attended. Despite hiring two reputable trainers, it was not possible to break him of the barking and lunging at people and other dogs. We have to keep him outside, or on a leash, with a muzzle, whenever anyone comes to visit. He even bit one of the trainers and came close to biting my son on the arm and my girlfriend in the face. I contacted four animal shelters and none of them would take him because they said he was too aggressive and therefore "unadoptable." I guess I'll just have to keep dealing with it. I've owned other Shepards before and never had a problem with training. They're smart dogs and usually learn quickly. I would recommend to anyone looking for a German Shepard to find a reputable breeder with good references and not someone just looking to make a buck.

Immediately my cousin told me that this was the best school for dogs in the area. She was right that is for sure! My husband and I started taking our puppy to Rhodes Collar immediately and worked with Michelle on dog obedience skills in both private lessons and group classes. Curtis was able to get involved in a group class entitled Good Citizen Skills. He passed the class thanks to the excellent training from Michelle and owner Glenna and there continued patience with us as new owners of Curtis. We are still taking classes with Michelle and working on more advanced skills now, we really enjoy the classes. The staff are all amazing, Linda helps Curtis with the after school program, she is incredible, Maureen is amazing and helps with so many areas of running the school, Rileigh is also amazing and helps us when we need to board Curtis though Custom Care. We feel 100% confident that our puppy is safe and treated well when we go away, we get pictures and videos of everything he does at school like report cards or when boarding at a staff's home. Staff are always available in a on text and honestly this school is so amazing that my husband and I agree we are better dog owners since going to Rhodes Collar, we plan to be long time customers and are forever grateful to them. He crashed into walls, jumped over the couch, practically pulled our arms off when he wanted to play with another dog (or human), etc. An out-of-control dog of this size was really difficult to deal with, and we were concerned we were in over our heads. After the 6-week intensive training program (which included private and group lessons), he was completely different. And adding several weeks of canine camp helped us and him hold onto his progress. I'm not sure we would have been able to keep him and they made the difference. And now we are happy to have him and are thrilled he is part of our family.
