I started using Mini Manor based on a recommendation of a friend who had 3 dogs she would board…read morewith them. As my friend is as crazy about her pups as I am, I took her word and gave Mini Manor a try! I should note that until our wedding, my husband and I had never boarded our pup as we always looked for an alternative. It broke my heart to think of my sweet little baby cooped up all day without anything to do, being sad and lonely. Well, I can say this with all certainty - the folks at Mini Manor have changed my mind about boarding - that is, of course, when you have the RIGHT place to board! To address my own concerns: Cooped up? I think not! Mini Manor is located on a fairly set back piece of land in beautiful Saunderstown, RI. Aside from the property itself, each of the pups gets their own indoor/outdoor run, so my baby has plenty of places to play and is not confined to a cage 24/7. Nothing to do? Tell that to the organized individual and group playtimes, as well as (and yes I'm serious here) the puppy ice cream socials. Sad and lonely? Well, there's not much that can be done if our up is sad and misses us, but the people at Mini Manor treat him as one of their own. At least I know he's in great hands.

Moxie has special needs (a form of epilepsy) and very little experience staying in a kennel, so I was deeply concerned not only for her health, but also for how she would handle the stress of a new environment. I checked in twice while I was away, just to make sure everything was okay. Each time, the staff reassured me with such genuine warmth and kindness. It was immediately clear how much they cared about her--they spoke about Moxie like she was their own. I was so touched to learn that they were taking her out for extra one-on-one time and giving her special attention beyond the standard routine. When I picked her up, I was honestly amazed. She was happy, playful, and--somehow--even healthier than when I dropped her off. I had prepared special meals and treats for her, and they followed everything carefully and thoughtfully. (They also offer the option to use their food, which is great for flexibility.) The facility itself is incredibly clean, and the staff are not only professional but truly compassionate animal lovers. It's clear they spent a tremendous amount of time monitoring her, caring for her needs, and making sure she was comfortable and safe. It's now been over 24 hours since I brought her home, and I genuinely feel like she is an even happier, healthier dog after her stay--which is something I never expected. I had worried I might come home to a stressed dog who refused to eat or had experienced a seizure. Instead, I found the exact opposite. I highly, highly recommend Scott's Kennels. They gave me complete peace of mind, and I now know that if I ever need to travel again, Moxie will be in the best possible hands.

Our new pup, Luca is an adorable Bernedoodle puppy and needed to get his first bath, his nails trimmed and the fur on his face was getting so long that we could barely see his eyes anymore. We dropped him off and about an hour and a half later we picked up a new puppy. He was sooooo fluffy, smelled amazing and we could SEE HIS EYES again! The thing we love about Mutley's the most, is that when you get your pup back, they are so so fluffy because they are so so dry. No matter how long or how fluffy your pup is, they always return completely dry. I could tell our pup felt amazing after his visit. We are already booked for his next spa day in about a month from now. Pro Tip: She's not the best with picking up her phone. Stop by, make an appointment and then schedule your next one before leaving.

Recently, based on the recommendation of a good friend who had done business with this…read moreestablishment several years ago, I boarded my nearly three-year-old English Setter there for two weeks in August of 2015 while away on vacation. I thought the fee was slightly above average but not unreasonable and I paid extra for the "playtime" as I wanted him to have extra time to run and, hopefully, have some human interaction. He is an affectionate dog, young, but relatively well-mannered and he loves people. I keep him clean and brushed, walk him often and I love him very much and want him to be well looked after when I have to leave him in the care of others. Making reservations, providing necessary information and getting things taken care of over the phone was fine. Dropping him off was good. Staff were very pleasant and courteous. He walked off enthusiastically with a kennel worker and we thought all would be well- NOT SO MUCH!! When we went to the kennel to collect him, all of his toys, his bed and his remaining food were ready which was great. We collected those items and put them in the car, returning for him shortly thereafter. He was beside himself with joy to see us and sang and chattered and talked to express his delight. We were happy to see him as wel! The policy of this kennel is that your dog will receive a free bath if they stay over a week so he was eligible for this and we thought it would help with the often unpleasant odor of a dog who returns from the kennel. We were told he had been bathed that morning. We paid our several hundred dollar bill and were on our way. The car is a bit of a confined space and he was in the rear passenger seat of an SUV. He didn't smell clean at all. He didn't feel clean either- as if he either wasn't bathed at all or perhaps he was just hosed down and allowed to dry. I will never know. Then, less than a mile from the kennel, the car smelled terrible. At first, we thought he had gas- which animals certainly can have, often at extremely inopportune times! I turned around to check on him and he was vomiting all over the back seat. Had he just vomited his breakfast, it would have been fairly easy to clean, but along with breakfast, he vomited feces (believe me, I know the smell!) and some water. It was a huge and disgusting mess and we pulled over, got him out of the vehicle and rolled up the seat covers, found a refuse bin and disposed of them as they were too nasty to salvage. As well, we had some cleaning supplies in the car and managed to clean what we could that was on the floor, door and seats. As well, I spent nearly an hour and a half combing large knots from his fur once we were home. Upon arriving home, further cleaning was done to the car, the dog slept for most of the day and I phoned the kennel to let them know what had happened. The woman who answered the phone was both apologetic and sympathetic, but clearly not in a position to do more than share concerns with a supervisor. I asked that someone call me during business hours and someone did contact me. When I shared my concerns I was told I could bring the dog back and they would bathe him again if I liked. It is a 45 minute drive, so that is not a practical option for me. When I shared the information about the vomiting of feces I was told they had to be his own (that is probably true as they have individual kennel runs) and that they clean feces from the runs twice daily. I was told they were sorry for the bad experience and that it was unfortunate. There was no mention of a partial refund or a credit of any sort for another visit, which we had contemplated booking. I would have to say I was not at all pleased with my dog's care and even less pleased with the response I received when the kennel manager phoned to discuss the situation with me. Not only will I not be returning to this place of business, but I will share with friends who board their pets, my dissatisfaction with this establishment. Perhaps it was once a reputable business but I would not consider it so any longer.

I reviewed on google and immediately got blocked. don't trust the google reviews. the woman at the…read morefront desk is clearly not a people nor dog person. they were extremely rude to my husband upon his arrival with his moms dogs for a hair cut. you would have thought my husband was walking into her house on her personal time. my husband explained he can be a little anxious but is friendly. the woman just rolled her eyes. she takes the leash and abruply scoops the dog up which made the dog start to wiggle in her hands. she immediately drops the dog down and hands the leash back to my husband and says "nope, not doing this" and sends him on his way. i would never trust this place with mine or anyone else's animals. lady is clearly in the wrong field of work
