I loved everything I ate (sorry I didn't take pics but I was having such a good time!) The staff was so kind and professional. I used to be a server for events like this so I know what their protocol is but man, it's still annoying when they clear your water glass by 8pm if you're not sitting down. I was also interested as to why the tables were laid out how they were because the reception was not having any dancing but there was a big open space that could have spaced out the tables more comfortably. The food was honestly so so delicious - we had the: *Thanksgiving Turkey (Our turkey is brined in thyme, sage, rosemary, garlic, shallots, juniper berries and black pepper then cooked sous vide for 24 hours to slowly develop the flavor, growing juicy and succulent along the way. The turkey is served semi-deconstructed with the turkey crown separated and wishbone removed. The legs, thighs and back meat are all hand-pulled for easy display and serving. This will be the most delicious turkey your family has ever tasted. ) - they had portions for 4 or 8 so we got the 4....it was PLENTY of food even though it didn't seem like it at first. No dry turkey for us this year as this was wonderfully succulent indeed! *Crookneck Squash Soup ( Crookneck squash is at its peak in late November and is our favorite choice for our creamy squash soup. Its deep orange color, sweet and nutty flavor is the perfect start to your Thanksgiving feast!) - Kind of like a butternut squash soup and this was sooo silky, luscious with a touch of sweetness. I was obsessed with this soup! *Crispy Stuffing (Our immensely flavorful and crispy breadcrumb stuffing is made with sage, thyme, rosemary, onion, garlic, celery and leeks. This stuffing is made with meat stock.) - my only complaint is that I should've ordered 2 of these!! This was so great - no soggy stuffing from Cornman! *Turkey Gravy - It came with a really great guide on re-heating and timing. So clutch and we followed it to a tee for a perfect Thanksgiving meal. I also will note - I forgot to order an item and THEN a week later, I asked to move up my pick up time. Each time, Tabitha responded IMMEDIATELY and was so kind about it. So shout out Tabitha! FYI - they moved the pick up location! It's actually fairly intuitive as it's now in the main barn. It was really nice that they had hot tea and coffee available for free as it was frigid out. What a nice touch. Will definitely be ordering again from Cornman Farms!

We had our "elopement" package wedding here and it was such a smooth and easy experience from start to finish, with an online portal to log communications and action items. The CMF team kept us organized with to do lists, and were quickly responsive to any questions. They were kind, courteous, and professional. Even though it is their day to day job, they really modeled the enthusiasm and care for our event as if it was just as special to them as it was to us! I love that the elopement package really included everything - florals, photography, dinner, cake, event coordinator, officiant, etc, so that we didn't have to really plan or figure out any outside vendors. The sit down dinner menu was curated with our input, featuring farm to table chef creations. Just an example of the level of customer service - my mother in law really loved the fennel fried broccoli we had with dinner. I messaged the team after our wedding on Instagram just noting that we loved it and wondering if they might share a hint on how it was prepared so we could attempt to recreate (and of course would have understood if they couldn't share any info)... they ended up emailing me the actual recipe and were glad we loved! Besides our wedding, we have also enjoyed visiting for their food pop ups! The fish and chips dinner is huge and tasty, and we have loved the pie and mash as well. They have a nice online shop where you can order food and beverage items to go as well as other merchandise. We also love that we can get a slice of our wedding cake (a classic Zingerman's flavor) from the bakehouse more or less whenever we want :). Overall, what makes this venue stand out the most is their people and their kindness in genuinely wanting people to have great experiences here. Highly recommend!

He was so responsive to all of my emails (and I sent several LOL). He has done many weddings here and you can tell as he really knows his stuff. He is on top of everything and was so helpful from the time we booked through the day of. I even had guests coming up to me at the reception saying "I wish we would have had a Bob at our wedding!" or "Everyone needs a Bob!" I can honestly say I did not feel stressed at all that day because Bob helped to keep everything on schedule and dealt with the vendors. Everything was perfect. The venue itself is beautiful and very accommodating and you can't beat the price packages. I absolutely love how everything turned out. The food was amazing, amazing staff, and amazing to work with throughout the planning process. Highly recommend!

"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," describes our recent dining experiences at the Polo Fields. A few…read moremonths ago, I posted a "Good" review on google, stating "Excellent dinner. Perfectly cooked steaks and sides, great waitperson named Samantha." Now, however, after our latest (and final) meal, it's time for the "Bad" and the "Ugly". Chefs say, "we eat with our eyes first," so below are cell phone pictures of what we were served: (1) "Bad" fries made from rotting potatoes and (2) "Ugly" Brussels sprouts burned black: There were other endless problems: my wife's vegetable was served so hot it burned the roof of her mouth (probably microwaved). My steak was undersized and overcooked, dry and hard to chew. Service took three hours (5:30-8:30), even though we were the only table seated the entire time, due to order and billing mistakes by a new, ill-trained waitperson. Polo Fields sends its diners a follow-up email urging them to post a review, if their experience was good, or, if not, to contact Brian Stange, so I took food samples from my plate to show him. But to my surprise, he ignored them, saying, "I eat here all the time and it's fine" (as if the staff would serve their boss bad food or make him wait 3 hours). Stange's inability to admit a problem, with the food samples on his desk, reminded me of the saying: "People don't believe what they see, people see what they want to believe." I thought of showing the owner the samples, but he never responded to my request for a meeting. (These samples have been preserved by vacuum sealing and freezing, should he change his mind.) BOTTOM LINE: Polo Fields offers dining-only memberships, but I never could have imagined a dining experience this poor or such profound indifference by management. There are so many fine area restaurants, with consistently good food and responsive management, that it makes no sense to pay membership fees and risk "the Good, the Bad and the Ugly" at the Polo Fields.

Detroit native Nicole Curtis would be truly proud of this owner and venue. Though there is still some work being done mostly outside it will be a beautiful venue for small weddings or corporate retreats. My coworker goes away with friends every January/February to Deep Creek, Maryland but in 2016 this will be the new place after our recent stay. And a quick shout out to Cyndi who we worked with on the reservation; she was absolutely wonderful! She made us feel truly welcomed. She's a beautiful burst of energy who is more than willing to provide some highlights of the area. Looking forward to staying here next year!!

This Victorian facility was actively used for about 100 years until the 1980s when Amtrak, which by then was the operator of most of the remaining US passenger train operations, decided to cease service to Chelsea. The effort to restore the building began in 1985 by concerned members of the community who formed the Chelsea Depot Association. They clearly have done a superb job. It now appears to function as an event venue for weddings, etc. It also remains a structure to admire on the exterior as well.

I dont quite remember the capacity of the depot but we were able to set up many tables and chairs (that are provided in the rental). The kitchen area was large and cold and warm storage was available. We rented in the month of december and the depot was decorated lovely.

All of the venue's seats are stacked nicely so that there is no bad viewpoint. The seats are relatively comfortable and the theater is clean. The stage is large and there are good acoustics throughout. We appreciated that snacks were for sale during intermission; we bought some candied nuts that were a nice snack in the second half. Overall a great performance venue!

I hadn't been to the Power Center since undergrad (I'm a UM '09 grad), so I had no clue what the parking situation would be like. I used Google Maps to get there and FYI, it's not entirely accurate - it brings you to the Fletcher Center parking structure. It was $5 cash to park there, but I wish I knew to park on level 5 (where access to Power Center is) because I parked on level 2 and then took the elevator up. There's no signage regarding this, by the way - I had to ask the lady who was taking money for parking. The Power Center itself has a unique layout, and our seats (mid-balcony, row D, I believe) were very good - you could see the stage very well. The performance was great, too. They have bathrooms on the basement level (go down 1 flight of stairs from the main area) and also on the balcony level, but at least for the women's bathroom, there were only about 4-5 stalls on that level. I'd come back here again for a performance - seats are a lot nicer than Hill's (you have much more room) and I'm willing to bet that there's not a bad viewpoint in the house.

He and I had water, while my wife had a soft drink for her birthday, though she would have enjoyed one regardless. The bill was just under $100 for us three. I am very disappointed about the lack of lamb picanha. Only having leg of lamb as part of the buffet is disheartening. Hopefully they will bring it back. I was considering getting a third discount card, but without lamb picanha or lamb chops I doubt I will. Of course we will be back as we spent $140 plus delivery fee to have physical discount cards. We saved $87 so the break even point will be our next dining experience here. I ordered the overpriced $13 carrot cake for my wife to enjoy for her birthday as the coupon for joining their website does not combine with the discount cards. This pushed our total spent to about $147 including tip. If you like this place invest in a discount card or two or even three.

I had very little else from the bar to focus on the grilled meats. The parade of meat started very quickly after I was seated. The filet mignon was fantastic. It was well-seasoned and prepared at the right temperature. The picanha (spicy and garlic) was okay. However, I thought the lamb was too gamey (I usually like lamb) and the pork was too dry. I got full quickly so I was glad I did not select the chicken or sausage offerings. Brazilian bread, bananas, mashed potatoes, and fries accompanied the meal. I only requested the bread, which was hot and chewy, and the bananas were swoon-worthy good. Yes, you need to save room for the sugar-and-cinnamon-spiced, pan-fried bananas. My server was polite and responsive. I wish I could forget the inauspicious start to the meal.
