We stopped by on a Tuesday for dinner. If you don't like crowds, Tuesday is the day to go. We sat outside on the "front porch" and it was lovely. Beer on draught was on point. Hubby and I both found our favorites. What goes best with beer is a burger. After we ordered, we could smell our burgers cooking !!! Honestly -- the BEST burgers we have had in a very long time. The meat was fresh, the patty size was ample. We ordered medium and that's exactly what we got. YUMMMMMMM The rosemary (twice fried ?) fries were phenomenal. We will be back. The menu isn't huge but if all the items are as good as the burgers, we can't wait !!!

Service is often rushed and spotty, but always friendly. Food is consistently good and beverages top shelf. We love the ambiance of this historical gem and always take visitors here for a taste of local culture.

I attended an event for Orange County Schools as we celebrated the districts Teacher of the Year. It was an amazing event, with amazing food. Proud to be a member of the Orange County Schools family. Definitely visit the Colonial Inn...... it's well worth it.

If you're looking for a cozy, home-like atmosphere with charming, unpretentious rooms that provide everything you need, this is the perfect place. It's conveniently located near a relaxed small-town shopping area, offering a peaceful and welcoming experience.

We really enjoyed our stay for one night. We tried to take advantage of this cute town and what The Colonial Inn had to offer. We paid for the "enhancement package Mystery Tour" as a way to explore the area around the hotel. This provided us with a bottle of champagne in our room, 2 cocktails at the bar, and 5 envelopes with clues for adventuring/walking around the area. We had dinner seated at the restaurant bar. My husband raved about his Duck BLT and I enjoyed the caprese salad. For drinks we had a dirty martini and The Front Porch cocktail which was refreshing. The bar also had a nice variety of bourbon. We shared a slice of Key Lime Pie for dessert which was delicious. It was actually the only dessert available when we ordered as they were sold out of everything else. We sat outside on the upper front porch to drink some wine which was very pleasant. Our room was lovely and accommodating. It came with a sound machine which we both personally loved since we use one at home. A hair dryer is provided as well and it is really nice and powerful so if you have long hair you will be happy with that. The shower is beautiful but I'm not a fan of the open shower door design as it makes showering feel cold to me. The pocket doors and sliding barn door style is nice to provide privacy and style. The room is decorated with lovely artwork. Blackout curtains were on all the windows in our room. Overall, the room was very comfortable. In the morning we enjoyed the coffee and cinnamon rolls they provided. The rolls were large, soft and so good. Don't miss out on trying one! We sat on the front porch while drinking our coffee.

This place gets you with kind women who check you in for your stay - it's downhill from there: no athletic rooms, zero substantial breakfast (even though I was told there was), no cream or milk for coffee, Internet that was non-existent and totally substandard help from the guy at the front desk 'Ahmedi'.. each time I came down into the lobby the pal was either stuffing HIS JOWL with guest snack food or making coffee for himself in the middle of the entrance! Beds were made well, but the sheets were wrinkled and did not look like they were fresh! Room was narrow and dark. The family that ran the hotel reminded me of a crime-operation type staff. Manager eating his own breakfast in the morning. The other guy parked his own car under the overpass in front in the shade while OLD Veterans, with rollers and in wheelchairs were now forced to circumvent said parked vehicles: this is NOT PROPER AND VERY RUDE BY HOTEL STAFF. Hotel staff: PARK YOUR CAR IN THE LOT!!!!! Internet was non-usable, even after figuring out how and which password is used! The TV channel fell out to a black screen at the tiniest rain shower in this area. Invest in a strong router - I MEAN IT. Internet has to work at Holiday Inn, or visitors will go some place else for their holiday. As pictures from Holiday Inn Hillsborough show clearly: trash was blowing in the entrance into the lobby and no effort was made to keep clean in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic! My mother booked the room. First, the refrigerator was barely cooler than room temperature. The mattress were beyond their time, were soft and had permanent body indents. The sheets were clean and neatly pressed. The room was extremely dark with no overhead lighting, even with all the lights on, it would be uncomfortable to read in bed. All that said, it was the condition of the bathroom that earned this low rating and review. The toilet seat was so loose, you had to be extremely careful while sitting and you had to hold onto the counter and side of tub to get up. The floor was missing large chunks of grout and filled with dirt, the shower head was pulled from the wall, hair was stuck to the wall above the shower, and last but not least, there was mold on the walls by the tub. With my mother being 83 and physically weak, she did not want to go through the hassle of switching hotels- however if it had been just me, I would have left immediately. I have attached pictures of the bathroom.

IMO anybody who has actually been to Italy would agree, every detail evoked the charm of a Tuscan villa but with the perfect amount of modern luxury. Our room was well designed and clean, and the overall experience felt truly elevated. But the true highlight was dining at II Palio (their signature Four Diamond restaurant). Simply put: the food was phenomenal. From the perfectly crafted brisket and short rib burger--to the house-made meatballs and incredibly seasoned, fresh oysters, every dish showcased top-tier ingredients and culinary precision. Finally, the overall service was exceptional: Hotel staff were welcoming and gracious as well as knowledgeable, and genuinely enjoyable. That said, the addition of II Palio is second to none! This hotel and restaurant isn't just a "hotel restaurant"--it's a memorable destination AND we're already planning our return!!
