We stopped by on a Tuesday for dinner. If you don't like crowds, Tuesday is the day to go. We sat outside on the "front porch" and it was lovely. Beer on draught was on point. Hubby and I both found our favorites. What goes best with beer is a burger. After we ordered, we could smell our burgers cooking !!! Honestly -- the BEST burgers we have had in a very long time. The meat was fresh, the patty size was ample. We ordered medium and that's exactly what we got. YUMMMMMMM The rosemary (twice fried ?) fries were phenomenal. We will be back. The menu isn't huge but if all the items are as good as the burgers, we can't wait !!!

I attended an event for Orange County Schools as we celebrated the districts Teacher of the Year. It was an amazing event, with amazing food. Proud to be a member of the Orange County Schools family. Definitely visit the Colonial Inn...... it's well worth it.

If you're looking for a cozy, home-like atmosphere with charming, unpretentious rooms that provide everything you need, this is the perfect place. It's conveniently located near a relaxed small-town shopping area, offering a peaceful and welcoming experience.

Service is often rushed and spotty, but always friendly. Food is consistently good and beverages top shelf. We love the ambiance of this historical gem and always take visitors here for a taste of local culture.

Sunday brunch on the front patio of the Colonial Inn was delightful. Four of us enjoyed our food and great service.

If your type is big, strong and handsome [BUILDINGS!], Full Frame Theater's Boiler Room has YOUR name all over it (him? her?). This incredible space welcomes guests entering Full Frame Theater, as well as sometimes its neighbor, The Power Plant Gallery. It's a VERY unique event venue flanked by mammoth coal-fired boilers that were used in the original building. You can admire the elevator shaft to the right of the front door, or envision the unseen inside (but very visible outside) base of the Lucky Strike smokestack which The Boiler Room "horeshoes" around. Enormous windows, concrete floors and brick walls give this space the perfect impression for any event [can I plan my next birthday party here?!] No space has ever scream contemporary meets historic so clearly! Plus, doors are open 9am-midnight, SEVEN days a week, so there truly is no reason to miss this drool-worthy space. Secret tip: it's air-conditioned and they've got tall-topped tables and chairs inside along the massive windows. This would be the perfect get-away from the office or {indoor} picnic lunch spot.

There seems to be two interior dining ares (one with an upstairs balcony) plus a patio and then an open grassy area. It looks like they host many wedding receptions and other special events. I won't comment on the food or service since ours was cooked by a guest chef and served by volunteers, but I can say from what I saw, the owners/staff would do a great job with any event.

The cookery looks great from the outside: color mural on its side-wall, fancy metal, grillwork up front along with a cool sign are the only hints of what lies inside. For this charity dinner they had a bunch of long tables set up family-style for a communal dinner. In back the bar was busy and buzzing with action. And the overall space is not huge but comfortable and lit really well. Accent lights on the rough brick walls created a lot of visual texture for the eye. The space is open but still very personal. A landing area at top was unused and a storage area up front near the ceiling housed what looks like brewing equipment for Ponysaurus (?) Overall the Cookery seems like a great space for a corporate or personal event if you don't have a huge headcount. While there isn't much else right around here, the Cookery is worth the drive out if you've got an excuse for a visit...

There's plenty of parking around the building, and overall this place is super spacious, bright, and airy. I came here for the Valentine's day weekend afternoon tea. I thought it was super reasonably priced at only $45. There were numerous tea options, and we thought both of the options that we ordered were extremely tasty. The Paris tea was PHENOMENAL, and the teapots offered generous portions of tea. In terms of the food on the three tier tray, I will say that the sandwiches were tasty. It was a good spread of cucumber and dill, egg salad, and southern pimento cheese spread. The dessert-style foods were a little bit lackluster with the scones more on the dry side, and the desserts a little bit underwhelming/feeling store bought. The service, however, was so great. They were so attentive and kind.

We got there a little early so we were able to park up front but I believe there is also more parking in the back. The house was still decorated for Christmas and it was STUNNING. Christmas trees in every room...so festive and fun. I loved it. We were seated in the sunroom (which did get a little warm), but the view was fantastic. There were a LOT of tea choices. Everyone was able to choose their own flavor and we all received individual teapots. A three tiered plate was presented and overall the food was excellent. There was spanakopita, egg salad sandwich, cucumber sandwich and pimento cheese sandwich on the first layer. The second layer was a plain scone with cinnamon apple butter and a peanut butter chocolate scone with clotted cream. We barely even touched the top layer after the first two and it included: black & white cookies, strawberries, profiteroles, cheesecake bites, and macarons! And since there was stuff left over, they wrapped up the leftovers in four individual "boxes". The service was wonderful. Chasity was out server and was very helpful and kind. I used their website and Open Table to make the reservation. We paid with a card at the table. Tipping was available. At the time of our booking, it was $45 per person which I felt was worth it. You are not only paying for the food/tea, you're paying for the experience. This experience exceeded my high expectations. I will definitely return.

The farmhouse that you get ready in has a bridal suite upstairs with its own bathroom. The lighting in bridal suit is PERFECT! You can also stay over night after the wedding and I highly recommend that. The bed was like sleeping on clouds and they made breakfast in the morning that was delicious. This place gets you with kind women who check you in for your stay - it's downhill from there: no athletic rooms, zero substantial breakfast (even though I was told there was), no cream or milk for coffee, Internet that was non-existent and totally substandard help from the guy at the front desk 'Ahmedi'.. each time I came down into the lobby the pal was either stuffing HIS JOWL with guest snack food or making coffee for himself in the middle of the entrance! Beds were made well, but the sheets were wrinkled and did not look like they were fresh! Room was narrow and dark. The family that ran the hotel reminded me of a crime-operation type staff. Manager eating his own breakfast in the morning. The other guy parked his own car under the overpass in front in the shade while OLD Veterans, with rollers and in wheelchairs were now forced to circumvent said parked vehicles: this is NOT PROPER AND VERY RUDE BY HOTEL STAFF. Hotel staff: PARK YOUR CAR IN THE LOT!!!!! Internet was non-usable, even after figuring out how and which password is used! Internet has to work at Holiday Inn, or visitors will go some place else for their holiday. As pictures from Holiday Inn Hillsborough show clearly: trash was blowing in the entrance into the lobby and no effort was made to keep clean in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic! My mother booked the room. First, the refrigerator was barely cooler than room temperature. The mattress were beyond their time, were soft and had permanent body indents. The sheets were clean and neatly pressed. The room was extremely dark with no overhead lighting, even with all the lights on, it would be uncomfortable to read in bed. All that said, it was the condition of the bathroom that earned this low rating and review. The toilet seat was so loose, you had to be extremely careful while sitting and you had to hold onto the counter and side of tub to get up. The floor was missing large chunks of grout and filled with dirt, the shower head was pulled from the wall, hair was stuck to the wall above the shower, and last but not least, there was mold on the walls by the tub. With my mother being 83 and physically weak, she did not want to go through the hassle of switching hotels- however if it had been just me, I would have left immediately. I have attached pictures of the bathroom.
