Long and slow line for concessions

Overall we had a very nice experience watching the Odyssey in IMAX. The theatre has only one large IMAX screen which provided an amazing experience worth the trip from Folsom. However, the theatre is pretty long in the tooth and can use some upgrades with the seats (reclining would be great) and in the restroom. The concession stand was on the slow side which got better when extra help came.

How did I not know about this theater before! Love the vibe, especially the support for special happenings at big movie events. The entrance and lobby are a positive nod to the history of theaters in look and feel. Concessions had a good selection. I was able to arrive early and enjoy my snacks and soda early to take in the experience. The theatre was clean and the staff helpful. Parking lots in the area in several directions, which is helpful being downtown. Mark S. Allen was even there from the local entertainment news team. What a great time my team had (we do the mobile Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes game) and felt right at home. Thank you for a great first time experience. I will be back for sure.

Saw Michael here opening week and it was a blast. Divine customer service, fresh and yummy popcorn that did not bother my sensitive stomach compared to the junk at cinemark. Have your tickets on your phone cuz they will ask. The icee machine rocks and they even have beers! The theater was clean and reminded me of the exact imax theater at great America theme park actually. The chairs were cool and comfy, but nothing like futuristic , more cozy vintage, some bimbos took our seats but karma will get em... This is a local gem, go experience Michael or any movie in IMAX!

Came to see Avatar in 3D at IMAX. Place was packed! We were able to score good seats last minute and the lines moved fast at the concession. Fresh popcorn, and a huge screen - watching Fire & Ash in IMAX 3D was spectacular. Although the movie was quite long, the experience was fun and expected. Parking can be difficult so plan accordingly, Allow 10min to find parking. ESQUIRE building parking (13th ST). Some metered parking on J street or the Hyatt parking garage on 12th ST. Easier to buy your tickets online.

We came on a Friday night to celebrate Top Gun's 40 year anniversary. They are re-releasing Top Gun (1986) & Maverick (2022) as a double feature or individual showing in IMAX. We saw Maverick and boy was it worth it! I saw it in the theaters when in first came out, then atleast 5 more times streaming on Amazon. This was a whole new experience and it even felt like a new movie. The sound, bigger than life images, buttery popcorn and Cherry Coke ICEE was perfect too! Luckily, Sac had a lot going on this night, so majority of the theater was empty so we go excellent seats with empty seats to the left and right of us. The seats do recline back, but with the help of physics, not a button and because of that if you have long legs you may not have enough leg room if the person in front of you elects to lean their chair all the way back.

I just attended a weekend event at the IMAX theatre. This location was great. There were at least three parking garages within walking distance including the IMAX garage. The theatre was clean. The women's restroom was clean however, I wish they had emptied the trash cans a little more frequently. The screen and surround sound was top notch. Definitely a great location for a film festival, private company movie showing and/or red carpet event. If you are in Sacramento for business or pleasure I definitely recommended you check it.

The theatre seats were super comfortable and the movie screen provided excellent visuals. The restrooms were very clean and well-maintained. The staff members were pleasantly friendly. We bought our tickets at the counter & customer service was fine. Kiosks were also available to buy tickets. There was a good variety of conventional concessions available for purchase, self serve soda machines, & an open area with tables & chairs. The hallways to the theaters are wide. We found the theater to be clean with very comfy & roomy seats. I liked that the button on the side could raise the foot rest & recline the back into whatever position you liked (versus only 2 positions of kicking back or being upright). I also liked that I got my own arm rest. The viewing experience was good. When we got out, there was popcorn spillage in the hall. Not sure how long it would be there, but no employees were around. It's a surreal experience to go through a ghost town of a mall to get to the theater, but there's a lot of parking available.

The biggest issue was the party room setup. Unfortunately when we got there, the room wasn't ready. There were no plates, utensils, napkins, or juices set out for the kids, and it honestly felt like there wasn't an assigned attendant checking in on the room. My friend had actually chosen this location because she previously hosted another birthday party here for her older daughter and had an amazing experience with decorations and an attentive party host, so this visit felt very different from what she expected. Once it was time for the movie though, things definitely improved. Someone came in and took all the kids' snack orders, and the kids loved getting their popcorn and Slurpees. That part felt much smoother and more organized. I also appreciated how clean everything was. The restrooms and theater itself were very well maintained, which always stands out to me in busy movie theaters. The heated seats were also a nice touch. They weren't overly warm, but you could definitely feel a little heat on your back which made the theater feel extra cozy. Another plus was the drink selection. There were plenty of options for both kids and adults, which made everyone happy. Helpful tip: If you're booking a birthday party here, it might be worth confirming the party room setup details again the day of just to make sure everything is ready when you arrive. Overall, the actual movie experience was great, but the party room side unfortunately didn't feel as organized as expected this time around.

At 34 weeks pregnant, that's not an inconvenient, it's torture. The seats are somehow even worse. They only recline halfway because there are bars behind every row. Had I known that before buying tickets, I would have stayed home. Spending hours trapped in a barely reclining seat while heavily pregnant is miserable. It feels like sitting in an old theater from the 90s that never got updated. Zero comfort. Zero consideration. My back hurts just thinking about it.

What isn't standard is getting food poisoning and their bag policy, which I found invasive and unnecessary. I didn't even bring anything in, but it still felt violating to have a stranger go through my purse just to check for snacks. Pros: The seating was comfortable, the walkways were wide, and the tray tables and recliners were nice. The bar also looked decent, with fair cocktail prices. Cons: Concessions were expensive, which I expected, but what I didn't expect was for my boyfriend to get sick after eating the popcorn. And of course, the bag policy. I didn't bring anything in, so there was no reason to search me other than "their policy." The only times I can think of getting a bag searched are for safety reasons, like TSA, festivals, shows, or the emergency room. For a movie theater, it felt cheap and unnecessary. I'm not sure if that bag policy is just for this location or all Regal theaters, but I'll be checking another one to see. Ps: There are also two Yelp accounts for this location, which made the experience a little confusing. I posted this review on both.
