I had a very negative experience at The Colony Animal Clinic and would caution others about their practices. The staff is more focused on upselling (overpriced) services rather than the well-being of pets. After contacting the clinic about my dog that was experiencing occasional vomiting and decreased appetite, they attempted to pressure me into several procedures that were not essential to diagnose my pet's condition. The receptionist and a random vet tech cornered me in the lobby insisting if I didn't agree to sedate my dog and consent to a $500 X-ray fee my dog would not get better. After my initial visit, I called to ask for medication to treat my dog's upset stomach and the staff was quick to say "you declined an X-ray so we can't prescribe anything". When I anxiously requested to speak to the vet himself, the receptionist acted defensive and accused me of yelling at her. When I did speak to the vet, he said "I'm not god, I don't know what's wrong with Scout!" This place isn't going to do anything for your pet unless you're prepared to drop $$$$ on unnecessary services. The Colony Animal Clinic preys on and exploits fearful pet owners for financial gain. Do not go here. For a 9lb 3 year old dog I was charged $75 exam fee $237.50 bloodwork $63 fecal test $58 anti nausea shot $40 antacid Had I got the X-ray too the tab would be well over $900 No one even called me with the results of the diagnostics, I had to reach out to them. I live 5 minutes from this clinic. One of my dogs has several skin issues with allergies. Every single time I have called they have gotten me in same day. This time he had a very bad ear infection. This has progressively gotten better in 3 days. My Vet Dr. Hari is sympathetic.,listen. Love them. read more

THE BEST experience we have ever had at a vet clinic! We travel back and forth to Hawaii a lot (which requires a health certificates that are challenging for everyone involved). This entire team took such care in getting all the details right. They went above and beyond ensuring we were ready to go! But they also loved on my dog so much so that she barely showed she was nervous to be there. It's no wonder "The Colony Animal Clinic" has been around the longest. Terrible experience this week. I came to this vet based off of a friends recommendation on their personal service. My first appoint was in July and with Covid I understood that they would come out to get your pet and bring them back s after the appointment. They did bring my puppy back but I had several questions that I could not get answered, because the only contact we were allowed to have was with a tech. This week my puppy became severely ill with pancreatitis as it turned out. My first call was to my New vet that we had just seen 6 weeks ago. I was desperate but was turned away due to no appointment openings and a smug suggestion to contact an emergency clinic. Ok, now I understand this practice and would like to inform all exactly what my experience was. When your best pal is ill and you can't get past a receptionist for help ......not compassionate enough to be my vet. Ps. They could see my pet Saturday at the earliest. My call for help was Tuesday????? My dog was able to immediately be seen by my old vet and after 3 days of IV's meds and intensive attention , she is doing much better. She would not have made it to Saturday. read more

We've been using this clinic for almost 20 years and know this review is overdue. The staff and Dr. Wild have been amazing to our dogs. Dr. Wild gives alternate options to traditional care if it's available, like Chinese herbal remedies or acupuncture. She will also do titer testing if you want to protect your pets from over vaccination- which was our preference. The vet techs are friendly, kind and gentle with our pets as well. The pandemic brought a new process to visits where we stay in the car, checkin via phone. Then the vet tech calls to ask preliminary questions and will come out to pick up our dog. After the exam, Dr. wild would then give us a call to discuss any concerns and answer questions. Afterwards, the vet tech would return our dog and take care of payment. Pretty smooth process for what's been a crazy period. We also have appreciated how compassionate they were with helping one of our beloved senior dogs cross the rainbow bridge. It was very hard on us and they helped us through it immensely. read more

One star because I have to give them one. I would give none if I could. I tried to request an appointment via their website. The pet that I had taken to them in the past has passed away. I have two dogs now, that have never been to this clinic. So they didn't even call me. When I called them to follow up. They confirmed that they had received my request, but that I don't have any pets in their system. They lost my business forever. VERY disappointing that they operate like that. read more

I took my dog in this past week for a paw injury and the Doctor had absolutely no clue what was wrong with him. He proceeded to put a muzzle on my very friendly dog, and told me he needed to be sedated in order to examine him before prescribing pain meds. He never even gave a diagnosis. Terrible experience, 10/10 would not recommend. read more

It's hard to find a good vet - and I have found it in the Colony Animal Clinic. I'm so protective of my two little chi's that its difficult for me to even take them in for checkups. This all changed on my first visit here. They are outstanding. The front office staff is wonderful, and remember you and your pets. The cost of services is not out of whack. But the best part has to be the Doctors Dr. Sharon F. Wild & Dr. Fred D. Holt These two love animals - they are so gentle with my girls, they even talk to them and take the time to really explain things to me. There are vets that are closer to me, but I gladly make that drive because I know that my animals are getting the best care, and so is their owner. I cant recommend these people enough! read more

This clinic, its staff and Dr. Wild and Dr. Holt (I haven't met Dr. Layton yet) are fantastic with our animals and soothing the human members of our family when we're worried about our beloved pets. They have followed up with calls to check on a sick pet after they've come home. Recently, and what prompted me to write this, we went to the office regarding our oldest cat. Dr. Wild was walking through the office, recognized my husband and stopped to ask how "The Old Man" (our ancient kitty) was and genuinely knew what cat she was talking about. My own doctor doesn't recognize me!! But our cat's doctor recognized us and stopped to talk about our cat. This meant the world to both of us. read more

I took my cat here to get updated on rabies and get her claws trimmed. She's a beast when it comes to the nail trim. I called to schedule an appointment and the girl that helped me was so sweet and friendly. When I went in, the waiting area is pretty small so it felt a little cramped with two dogs and my cat (in her carrier) but it was clean. I did not see the vet until 30 minutes after my appointment which was a little bit of a let down and my biggest complaint. My cat is stressed enough so spending an extra 30 minutes in a carrier isn't ideal. The vet tech (I think?) was super friendly and was very good with my cat. I really liked him. The vet was efficient and took care of the checkup, nail trim, and rabies very quickly so I appreciated that, especially after the longer wait. The only other thing I noticed was that there is one girl that checks everyone in, out, and takes the phone calls so she seemed very busy. She was bouncing around between all of the above by herself. She was super friendly and I really liked her, but it made the check in and/or out process take a little bit longer because she was juggling a lot. Maybe I just came in on a busy day though! My visit went fine, technicians were very nice. I believe the tech that took care of me was named Alison. My only issue was with Dr. Wild. She spoke to the tech horribly and made the entire business look tacky. The way she spoke to her employee was very distasteful and shocking that, that kind of attitude would come from a Dr especially in front of a client. I feel sorry for those girls that work with her. I love to go to small personal owned businesses and I felt the best place for my little fur-baby to go would be TCAC, but after this visit I will not be back. Dr. Wild is awesome. I have been bringing my dachshund to this clinic since he was a puppy in 2002. I moved out of the area and used other vets but always return for the "big" things. Just recently my dog got very sick and I knew I had to take him to see Dr. Wild. As expected, she listened to everything I told her and gave my pup an extremely thorough exam. I left from my visit feeling as though she did everything she could do for my sweet boy and I'm happy to report that he's feeling better already. I would give it zero if that were possible. Although I understand opening and closing times, this vet would not stay after 6 PM to receive a pet that had just died. The animal died in the kitchen and we were trying to get him there ASAP so that he wouldn't have to be "iced down" over night as they suggested, to be taken care of the next day. We were told that the vet said he/she lived too far away to wait for us to get there with the dog. We found another wonderful, caring place just a few minutes down the road that waited until we could get there around 6:30. They gave the family hugs and condolences and didn't rush the process. Some people have more compassion than others, and this vet apparently has none. read more

Dr. Sharron Wild has zero bedside manners. I felt as if she didn't care about the well being of my sweet kitty. She was in renal failure and I took her the TCAC, they kept her over night and put her on fluids. When I picked her up the next day she was literally water logged with fluids (that were IV - this is not normal), the doctor told me that it was because her body had not absorbed the fluids yet. I immediately took her for a second opinion and turns out, it was NOT NORMAL. Upon x-rays the vet couldn't even see all of her organs due to the fluids retained. I had to put her down the next day. PLEASE DONT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!!!!!! read more

I would NOT recommend this clinic to anyone. I recently moved to the area and chose to try out this vet based on the great reviews. Let me start by saying the front office staff and techs were very nice and accommodating. However Dr. Wild was HORRIBLE. My dog is a rescue and has a history of abuse, so she doesn't trust people and takes her time warming up. I made sure to let everyone know of her history. The tech was great and took her time and gave my dog treats until she stopped barking and was calm. Dr. Wild on the other hand, came in to the room, stood there while my dog barked for 2 minutes and then told me she "didn't have time to deal with this" and commanded the tech to muzzle her. I don't mind if my dog is muzzled, because I understand it's just for safety, but I expect a little effort before that happens. During the exam, Dr. Wild did nothing to calm my dog down, other than putting some essential oils on her ears. My dog was so stressed that she expressed her anal glands. I truly have never seen my dog in so much distress. The whole experience left me in tears and out $100. After my visit, I attempted to reach out to the other vet, Dr. Holt, to express my disappointment in the visit and received no response. I hope no one else has to go through the horrible treatment my dog and I received from Dr. Wild. read more
