I love this bar. I'm local so I come here once in a while. Not the nicest bar ever but the bar tenders are very nice. Alcohol selection is nice and prices are fair. The juke box is awesome and plays a lot of smiths songs which is cool. Really glad I found this place!! Was tired of the noisy bars in old town, and sometimes you dont wanna deal with the parking and the traffic and the crowds on the roads, and in the bars, and so on. If you are in such a mood, I think Colorado bar is where you should be headed. Its a nice little place with good service. We were there around 9pm on a Saturday, and people were beginning to come in, but it wasnt noisy or too crowded, The Martinis and Whiskeys were strong. I loved this bar. It has more of an 80s atmosphere, and had old 70s and 80s records hanging on the walls. The bouncer outside the door was super funny and made me laugh. My friends and I came here on a Friday night to enjoy some beer and play pool. The bar is more on the small side, and that gives it a cozy feeling. Another plus is they don't blast loud music like some bars do. Five stars, and I want to come back and will recommend this place. read more

I LOVE THIS BAR! It's a dive bar with pool tables and great music. No food, but you can get a small bag of potato chips, Doritos, and Cheetos. Good beer section and top shelf drinks, but not a place to get fancy cocktails...maybe an old fashion or a side car, but definitely NOT a cosmopolitan! One of the bar tender looks like Santa, which subconsciously made me feel as if I need to be in my best behavior every time I'm there! The Colorado is not a dive bar. That is, it doesn't smell bad, have rude employees, or make you suspect drug deals are going on in the bathroom. It certainly isn't your fancy-pants yuppie type bar; it's more like a local establishment with friendly bartenders and a really nice door guy. They also have a good music selection on their jukebox. This is a dive bar located in the heart of Pasadena.There is free parking right outside the bar. They have a pool tale and free darts, plenty of seating and cheap drinks. I ordered a drink, and the bartender had to go to the internet because he didn't know how to make 'sex on the beach'. When you come here, you will see a LOT of regulars. Some people bring in pizza, and hang out with friends. This place mostly has guys here, and this is not bad if you just want to drink and chill. I knocked off 2 stars for the bartender not knowing how to make a common drink, and the decor and atmosphere inside. Clean, but oldish. read more

We went there for beer on Sat afternoon. It's a typical old style bar, very quiet when we were there. Good for small talk.

Nelson and Tony are the best. That is all. Pool tables and good music and cheap drinks. What more can you ask?

The Colorado is the best dive bar in Pasadena, hands down. Red flocked wallpaper, a marlin hanging on one wall (also painted red, for some reason), cigarette buts all over the floor, and bartenders who wander around telling dirty jokes... It doesn't get any better than this. The CD changer has a good selection with plenty of bar classics (Tom Waits, Social Distortion, etc), and the drinks are strong and cheap. read more

I have been coming here since 1990. It used to be great. Johnny was a great host. Since he bought the place,and smelly nelly and his henchman tony run it. It has no appeal! I went monday afternoon about 5 pm. Bought a glass of wine. 7 dollars left a dollar tip. The girl bartender collected the money. Then tony came in. I ordered another wine. Again left 8 dollars. He asked me if i had a tab. I said no. He sells me the drink. I leave 30 minutes later. I came in again on sat. Nite around 11pm. I said hello to tony. I see him and smelly nelly talking. I say everything o.k.? He say no that i can only get wine in a wine glass. Because i drink it with ice i usually ask for it in a pint glass. Not for extra wine. I tell him fine. I ask if he talked to the girl. He says i still have a tab. But sells me the wine anyway??? I have been a bartender and now manage a 3 million dollar a year restaurant. I have never not paid or had left an open tab. Tony you are full of fecal matter and you and smelly are the worst ever. No wonder the place is half emty on a sat nite. How dare you and your moron. Day girl is a lier. Johnny you need to fire all three of these idiots and get a bartender that can count and be honest. And not chase away padadena locals! Idiots. This has got to be the worst dive bar in the state of California and let alone the SGV. The bartender who iam now coming to realize is probably the owner as well has the customer service of a 14 year old who has no definition of the word respect. When i asked for a lime and salt with my beer (because im mexican duh) the bartender tony said "this is a bar not a restaurant" so for me that was already strike 1 as he refused to want to provide me with any .I guess he maybe that cheap. Now I'll be honest and say that im not a huge germaphobe but when Tony the bartender just grabbed a lime with his bare hands and tossed it in my drink now that was strike 2. I know a little something about being sanitary and the staff here probably has no sense of what that word means. So i asked for another drink because i wasn't about to drink the one he poured and tossed the lime into and instead he just gave me back my money and he got his little bouncer to kick me out. I highly do not recommend this place to anyone. Spend your money at another place that are friendly to customers. read more

avoid this place if you are an ethnic minority or a member of the lgbt. they discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation. there is no menu listing the prices. they will charge double if they do not approve of you to motivate you to leave. there is no listing of policies because they will create a policy if they do not approve of you to motivate you to leave. the drinks are subpar if you have traveled to any major city in the us or abroad. the carpet is dirty and worn. the place is owned and operated by two men who do not approve of certain ethnic minorities and/or any member of the lgbt. do not waste your time or money. they cater exclusively to straight caucasian affluent persons. read more

this place is pretty chill--- the people are pretty much kept to their clan and to themselves which is cool... nice place to play pool and darts.... nothing too exciting.... they let pregnant people go in so i guess that's "healthy and cool" i suppose.... but yeah... the floors are dirty--- the bathroom is small oh and the reason it got at least 3 stars because the drinks were pretty cheap. read more
