I think it was $12 but i dont remember since there was a tab and multiple shots and beer were charged. Place is really clean and they have tvs to watch games. Park at the parking structure. The bar itself was fun and had a good atmosphere, but I'm leaving this review because my group was disappointed with how security handled a situation during our visit. A friend in our group felt uncomfortable and was harassed after an interaction with another guest, and we personally felt our concerns were not taken seriously when reported. The 35er is an Old Town Pasadena institution. This lively dive bar has been family owned and operated since 1963. It's a popular place to watch sports and shoot some pool. There's also a cool little speakeasy in the basement. At the entrance you'll find a display case filled with Dodgers bobbleheads. They have an extensive beer list (about 20 on draft), specialty cocktails, and free freshly popped popcorn to snack on. The walls are lined with sports memorabilia and there's a juke box for entertainment between games. I had many fun nights here when I was younger. My friend and I were in the area and stopped in for a drink. Tony was behind the bar and he was an absolute doll. He's one of those friendly neighborhood bartenders that you would reveal your deepest secrets to. My friend had a beer and since it was Cinco de Mayo, I ordered a margarita with Tromba Tequila. We went here on a whim and honestly it was not too bad! It's your typical sports bar, and there was only really one bartender. So if it's just one, service might be kinda slow if you're a big party, but he was crankin the drinks out pretty quick. I like how even though it's a sports bar, it was fairly clean. They also have their own cocktail menu which was pretty neat! There's free popcorn to grab at the back and a machine where you can select your own music to play in the speaker (for a small price). Cause the music here is kinda whatever, or at least random lol. There are pool tables in the back, which I saw was $2 per play. Overall, not bad. I'm giving this bar 3 stars because my experience was mixed. There were two bartenders working. The female bartender was excellent--friendly, welcoming, and exactly what you'd expect from great customer service. Unfortunately, the male bartender was the complete opposite. He came across as unfriendly and seemed annoyed whenever we ordered a drink. I understand bartenders deal with difficult and intoxicated customers, but that's not an excuse to treat everyone like they're a bother. We actually laughed about his attitude because it was so noticeable. Honestly, he seemed better suited for security than bartending, since customer service didn't appear to be his strength. Other than that, the bar had a cool vibe. They let people play music, and the bathrooms were clean. I rarely come to Pasadena, but in the past few weeks I've been to this bar twice. Very much a dive bar, but in the best way. Definitely cleaner than most dive bars and it has a bottom floor that's a tiki bar and has a hidden speakeasy behind a phone booth. There's two pool tables and outdoor seating. This honestly looks like the spot to be at to catch a Dodger game. Service was great both times, even during the busier hours on a Saturday night. I was ordering drinks from "Mercedes" and I was being super nice but she was giving the cold shoulder the whole time as if she owned the place. I just ignored it, but the icing on top was when I ordered my Adios. I told her to just give me a splash of the curqcao, cuz it's too sweet for me. And I asked, "can you give me more of the vodka or other liquors in its stead"? but she's like "the adios mix has the same amount of alcohol." I understand that ma'am but cucacao has alcohol in it, so if ur gonna give me a splash of it then you technically need to make up for it with the adios mix. But she's like "you can choose between soda or sweet and sour." Well you can choose between your hefty tip or the dollar that ur worth. complete BS. Also, when I had given her my new card to put on tab, she was like "I already gave you your card back." No shit, Sherlock, I'm using a different card. Like, seriously, are these bar tenders for real. This is my first time at this bar. The main floor is mainly different types of beer and offer free popcorn. Upon entering our IDs were checked and we were told that the downstairs consisted of Speakeasy and a tiki bar. Well we decided to give the tiki bar a try and how bad of a decision this was. The menu is limited which is ok because it had most of what we were looking for but at close to $20 per drink you think that they know how to make the drinks. We tried 3 different drinks- a piña colada, Mai-Tai and the Zombie. Why they all had the same color AND lemon flavor . This was a disappointing experience. I would stay away from the tiki bar. Two starts because we explained the situation and the manager got involved, tried the drinks and she agreed and we got our money back. But I hope this serves as an opportunity to get better. read more

Tony was our bartender. He was funny and had jokes. The only thing I could say is that I was a little indecisive over what beer I wanted, and Tony could've asked me a couple of questions as to what I usually drink and make some suggestions... But other than that place was cool...this is by no means picking on you Tony... you made up for it with the jokes that you made! I was there on a first date and only interacted with my date and the bartender while ordering drinks. After ordering two drinks total, the bartender accused me of being overly intoxicated and called over bouncers, which felt unnecessary and humiliating. I was calm, not disruptive, and had only ordered two drinks. Being escorted out in that situation felt excessive and unprofessional. I left feeling embarrassed. If there was a concern, I would have appreciated a private conversation rather than being publicly removed. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled so customers are treated fairly and respectfully. The bartender acted like she had authority but also annoyed to be there. Im lesbian. Went my first time yesterday. What a cool place! Had the main bar at street level. Downstairs is a great Tiki Bar! Can't wait to come back and enjoy it! But wait there's more! We are an older group, but it was a friendly, diverse, and inclusive group of people in the bar and working there. + Dodgers, Kings, Lakers, Clippers, and RAIDER NATION are all represented here!!!! I came to the 35er for the first time before the Oasis show. It was packed. Beyond packed. However I want to give a big shout out to Tony the bartender. The bartenders were slammed and he was moving as fast as he could and even while people were getting frustrated he managed to maintain his patience and had a positive and happy smile on his face the whole time. He moved as quickly as he possibly could and was honestly just the kindest man in the moment The bar was at least 10 people deep waiting for drinks and he was moving like a maniac. This past Saturday I served as an Uber for my better half driving her to Pasadena to meet up with one of our close and dear friends. My wifey and her Bestie had a planned outing to SoFi Stadium to watch Ed Sheeran perform in concert. Of course I'll move mountains for my BFF, so I agreed to this, but I had to kill time for 9 hours. One thing I knew that could expend a few hours was to find a sports bar/restaurant that was showing the latest UFC event. Finding a bar showing a UFC event in Pasadena was more difficult than I thought. After walking to a few sports bars, I luckily found The 35er, which was showing UFC's latest installment on one television. The 35er is a sports bar that has an abundant amount of televisions for your sports viewing pleasure. It is located in the heart of downtown Pasadena on Fair Oaks Avenue and famed Colorado. It is across from a Pottery Barn, flanked by Chef Tony Dim Sum and Hello Gelato, and it's across the street from Cheesecake Factory. There is public garage parking, which cost me $15, but it allowed me to park for a long duration. This San Diego Padre fanatic was in enemy territory as The 35er is an homage to Los Angeles sports teams and sports personalities. There is outdoor table seating, inside table and counter seating, and of course seating at the bar. I was told by friendly people associated with the bar that The 35er allows you to bring food from the outside, which was too cool. The female bartender and the dude who served me provided noteworthy customer service and their customer service all around is why I'm rating The 35er four stars. I don't drink, so the only reason you'll see me at a bar will be to catch a UFC Pay Per View that I didn't purchase at home. You might be thinking what a non drinker would purchase at a bar. My family and friends know my go to non alcohol drink is the manly Shirley Temple. Since I was parking my tush for a few hours to watch some pugilistic competition, I decided to purchase my tried and true plus order french fries. As I stated above, The 35er allows you to bring outside food, but probably with the stipulation that you purchase beverages. The Shirley Temple was okay, but I really enjoyed their seasoned fries. They were the potato wedges style french fries, which were cooked to a golden brown, they were cooked to order, and they were a tasty snack for me to munch on while I got my UFC fix on. Make sure to ask for the hot sauce and ranch, then mix those two condiments and dip to your heart's content. If I ever venture out with my Bestie for a concert she's enjoying with her BFF and I need to kill an exorbitant amount of hours, I'm stopping by The 35er and checking to see if they're showing a UFC event. I'll try some of the other grub they serve and I'll enjoy the quality customer service by their staff. read more

The group of guys I was with appreciated the whiskey selection as well as the pool tables. Overall, this is a great bar to stop in for a late night drink assuming no drama. So I gave a credit card for one drink, it was a whisky sour I think. So far so good. I get the bill and it's $17.68. A little high but I specified Bulleit so maybe I pay extra for that, whatever. Did not sign the credit slip and left a $20 in cash. 13% tip, not super generous, but I'm also not from the 25%-30% tip generation. To me 13% is 'fine', it was one drink during the day, I was an easy customer. I get my credit card bill and they ran the credit card anyway? So now the tip is a whopping $22.32. Kinda pisses me off. I thought I would dispute the charge but then it asks when did I contact the merchant. Instead why don't I write this review. If you're the merchant you're welcome to reverse the charge and I'll write a glowing review. Transaction date June 7th. I'll even mail the waitress $5 as a compromise and a thank you. read more
