We stopped here for breakfast before heading out to walk the Brooklyn Bridge and honestly, this place did not disappoint one bit! I've been looking for a good, juicy burger for the longest time on this trip and I finally found it here. The burger was completely packed with flavor and wonderfully juicy when you bit into it. The bun was nice and crispy with their special sauce. On top of that, the french fries were absolutely delicious and the side of egg was pretty good as well and definitely did its job. Beyond the amazing meal, the restaurant itself was very clean and well organized and the staff were super attentive and kind throughout the visit. I am definitely coming back next time I'm in the area! read more

This place was delightful. Came with my daughter for an afternoon lunch on a summer afternoon and everything was great. Lots of fun choices on the menu at appropriate prices. I had the arepas with carnitas, she had the mac and cheese with kielbasa. We were both super happy. Service was efficient, the restaurant was pretty, bright and well air conditioned. We would definitely recommend and would definitely return. read more

Cant believe I've never heard of this gem before. Great for a weekday breakfast brunch. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to our big party. DO get the skillet pancakes, they will absolutely change your life. Just the right amount of sweetness without being overbearing. I also had the inside out truffle bun which was slightly sweet and very strong truffle flavor. Amazing mimosas as well - they have both passion fruit and orange juice base! read more

A solid place for brunch. I really enjoyed my truffle scrambled eggs (eggs were perfectly cooked and went really well with the bacon jam; the bread underneath pretty much disintegrated though and I feel like a harder bread would hold up better). The skillet pancake is absolutely enormous and really soft and fluffy. Wouldn't recommend the pear soda; it basically just tasted like gingerale. Service is a tad on the slow side. read more

My friend and I stopped at The Common for breakfast during a weekend in Brooklyn. We visited during a Saturday in March around 11am and were seated without a wait at the bar. It was fairly busy inside so I imagine larger parties should expect a wait during the weekends. I ordered a Caramel Latte and the Eggs Benedict. We also got the Skillet Pancake to share. The Latte was excellent - just what I needed. The food was good as well. The Skillet Pancake is huge, great for sharing. No complaints with the Eggs Benedict either. The servers were friendly and attentive. The inside of the restaurant is bright and airy. I would return here for breakfast next time I'm in the area. read more

Had such a great experience here! We came last Saturday around 1pm and were sat about 30 minutes later, which was expected since it was a Saturday and we didn't have a reservation but the staff was still super apologetic and even gave us a pastry on the house! We ordered the naan, the beef stew and the ratatouille and mimosas- everything was so delicious and well flavored, though I wish there was a little more salt on the food, which wasn't a huge issue since we could just add. We also got the pancake to share and that was soo good. The place was very inviting and the service was great- we felt super welcomed and well taken care of. I haven't been inspired to write a review in a while, but this was the best brunch that I have had in a long time. We walked in without a reservation, and we were seated almost immediately. There were high chairs. I had the Californian omelet, and the flavours were subtle but perfectly balanced. My partner and my toddler shared the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffles & Chicken. They inhaled it. The service was also excellent. Our waitress was communicative, attentive, and kind to a family with a chatty toddler. The actual restaurant was packed but it wasn't too loud. My fiance and I loved our brunch this morning at The Common!! We ended up in the area after our morning run and chose The Common due to all of the delicious items on the menu and strong reviews. There were a few tables open upon arrival, but it seems like a popular neighborhood spot and very family friendly. We chose to share an appetizer (chips and dip) along with the Inside Out Truffle Bun. Both were delicious, with the Truffle bun being my favorite. The flavors melded in the best way, particularly the housemade bacon jam which was perfection. Chips and dip were solid too, though I would recommend ordering for a larger group since the dip was quite rich! Cute find but out of the way, worth a visit if you're in the area! 4th Avenue is not exactly set up, as a brunch spot... this area still needs to ramp up, if they want the park slope vibe. The Common has another location in the Bay Ridge and it's pretty good. We tried the Park Slope location for an early Mother's Day brunch... and it was pretty good. We enjoyed the food and the staff are nice. We got eggs Benedict, eggs pastrami hash, eggs over waffle and a "in the skillet" dish called the Lebanese stew.... all the dishes are decent... the skillet dish, is like a tomato based with potatoes and sausages and 3 poached eggs. It was very heavy for brunch... and we couldn't finish. Felt like it was missing some punch in taste... it was quite bland. We also got the chicken liver spread with pita... this was such a disappointing dish. The chicken liver, if done right... it's smooth, silky and can be fantastic. However - the common failed at this delivery... it was so gamey... and thick... and just not good. Don't get this if you cannot do strong liver taste. Cappuccino and latte, decent. We checked this place out for a late brunch one rainy Sunday. Looks can be deceiving as from the outside, this place looks like a small chain restaurant but instead it's a chill, industrial, cozy spot! Great menu with a ton of options. Service was relaxed but attentive. We split the humus ($12) to start which was delicious and a good portion of pita. I got the smoke salmon toast with poached egg ($16) which was delicious and tasted super flavorful. Others got the omelettes and breakfast sandwiches which were also super fresh and delicious. Brunch is frequently something that restaurants hate to dominate but customers LOVE. This place is pretty much a BRUNCH spot...thought you can have breakfast or lunch as well. We came for brunch. IOt has a nice modern atmosphere while still maintaining a bit of that cozy Brooklyn feel. The menu here is really outstanding. Lots of unique dishes that makes it difficult to choose from. Service is very good...if a little slow if there's a rush but the food itself is worth the wait. Eggs are cooked any style PERFECTLY. That in itself is fantastic as I have endured over cooked eggs in many places. I chose the LATIN BREAKFAST:Grilled arepa, pulled pork, avocado, corn scramble. Mole mayo, Cotija cheese, crispy tortilla strips and gobbled it up much faster than I should have...it was that good. Other guest at out table sampled the Eggs Benedict with avocado, the Pastrami Hash and eggs and a custom scrambler. Everyone was super happy and the presentation on each plat was very nice. The menu also includes delicious sounding quinoa/brown rice bowls and variation of shakshuka. I could easily eat brunch here for several months before I'd have to try something I didn't already try that I wanted to try. Portions are pretty generous here, so come hungry. read more

We came around 10 on a Sunday morning without a reservation and luckily were able to get seated (but recommend a reservation). We had the pastrami Mac, French toast, pancakes and the Latin breakfast. I got the eggs Benedict with ham and it was very good! The highlight was definitely the fried potatoes they were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. To start I tasted the almond croissant which was surprisingly delicious for only $3. Coffee was strong and tasty. The entire store has a nice aesthetic and was packed when we went. The table was a little low and messed up my posture. The array of flavors present in the hash was exceptional although the size of each piece was too big and a hash should be ground up. I normally go to The Common in Bay Ridge. I became a huge fan, during Covid and still go there regularly. Recently my niece had a private party at The Common in Park Slope because the venue is available for private parties in the evening, and everything was perfect. Sadly no pictures but just left a great meal - service was EXCELLENT (thank you to the host who moved my cold self away from the door) and our server could not have been nicer. And the food was just terrific. Great menu, beautiful presentation - the crispy potato appetizer was awesome, the soup excellent, I had the gnocchi which was so good (ricotta gnocchi!) and then our friends had skillets and the pastrami hash and enjoyed both greatly. This is for the service who sucks. The short brown haired girl wearing the baggy jeans. It's the second time I've ordered the sausage and grits and she's gotten it wrong. I'm the sucker because the food is so good I came back after getting screwed last time, but when I asked for a side of grits and they don't do a side, just tell me so I'm not paying $18 for a bowl of grits. Made a reservation for mother's day brunch at The Common. I loved the vibe and service, it was very relaxed and we didn't feel rushed. I tried the pulled pork eggs benedict which was outstanding. Perfectly poached eggs, tender pulled pork, and the potatoes were golden brown and crispy. My mom had the lox over toast but subbed for a pita bread. She said it was very refreshing and light, but also filling. Everything was very fresh. The iced coffee was also really good. Next time I have to try the skillet pancake as I saw every other table raving about them. Definitely a must try! read more

Had breakfast at The Common, their eggs Benedict are were a symphony of flavors in my mouth, maybe I was just that hungry but it just tasted great. The poached eggs were so perfectly cooked, they deserve a standing ovation and the smoked salmon tastes fresh and not too fishy. And those potatoes? Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside - they're basically the rockstars of brunch sides, and the cook was very kind and gave me family and I some extra potatoes that they had made. The service was top-notch; they anticipated my brunch desires like mind-readers, the waitress that was working there was attentive and very nice to us and kept checking on us and was working on her own and it wasn't busy so props to her. read more

I came here with a friend on a rainy day and it was so cozy. As they just opened when we went the walls were a little barren. However, the service and food completely made up for it. I recently dined at this establishment and had a mixed experience. On one hand, the food was delicious and well-prepared. However, the service left much to be desired. At one point during our meal, the staff asked us to move seats while we were still eating for other customers when there was clearly other tables they've could've seated them. This felt unprofessional and disruptive and was a first in any of my dining experiences. It really detracted from the overall experience. We weren't even offered anything for the inconvenience or unprofessionalism on their part. I hope they can improve their service to match the quality of their food. I would consider returning, but only if I hear that the service has improved. read more
