I thought since I had a Taste of the Seacoast dining deal that I would give The Community Oven a second chance. I was equally disappointed in their inability to create a decent tasting pizza. Despite their fresh ingredients and beautiful brick oven the pizza was simply bland, off balanced, too cheesy, and under-sauced. I also tried the Blue Lobster Nut Brown Ale with the pie and that was an equal disappointment. My first attempt at homebrewing was better than that! I also don't like the design of their booths. You can feel the knocks and vibrations of every move of people sitting two booths away. We had kids near us that made our benches feel like D-BOX seat at a movie theater. Update: Tough critic? Out of 87 reviews there are 77 with more stars than your place (Way more than half are 4 - 5 stars) My initial review was articulate and fair. I listed pros and cons. I even took a photo as proof that your pizza was cheap on the toppings. What I didn't mention was that I took last week's leftovers to work and the two co-workers that ate it also thought the pizza was subpar. I'm not alone with my opinion. We went here last night. We arrived when it was not very busy. It took 1 hour and 20 mins to get 1 pizza. the flavor of the pizza was missing entirely. We had to wave down the waitress to get a second drink. 1person in the party only drank water and was never asked if they wanted a refill. We had to get the attention of someone else to get our waitress to get the check. We almost missed a show we had tickets to due to how slow the service was. Caution! This was our first indoor dining experience since COVID. We will never be back. No requirement for customers to wear masks when not at tables. Watched clientele arrive and sit without the counter or chairs being sanitized between clients. Staff removing masks or not wearing them at all. The real winner was the relief bartender arrived for his shift with no mask on at all! When I questioned the previous bartender he said I didn't think there was a requirement for masks. Decided to splurge last night by having brick oven pizza as it's something we usually never eat. Service at Community Oven was poor. Asked waitress about the status of our pizza as we had finished our appetizer and other patrons which were seated after us received their pizza. Instead of her admitting she forgot to put our order in, she claimed our order was bumped back to prepare to go orders. Then she apologized for being short staffed having only 2 cooks. Her honesty would have been respected. Even though she deducted $7 from our meal (per our request) I regret giving her 15% tip. read more

The best pizza I've had in a while. Such good crust and great ratio of toppings. We also got an order of the spinach artichoke dip which was also amazing. Cute outdoor seating during covid as well! My mom is gluten free and she said this was some of the best gluten free crust she's had. Would definitely recommend. read more

Sunday Evening Pizza dinner...Community Oven NOT busy....ordered dinner...waitress very good...BUT she had assigned to her over 1/2 of the entire restaurant. Dinner seemed to take forever. Other customers came in and were complaining. One party suggested Community Oven was filling TELEPHONE ORDERS BEFORE the customers seated in the restaurant. So they did a test...they called in an order from their seats and yep, it was ready BEFORE the order they placed from their seats. They took the to go order and left. That's really poor by Community Oven....So dinner finally arrives....NO SILVERWARE FOR 15 MINUTES...the restaurant wasn't busy! Apologies from the waitress and the manager. Food is sub par. We ordered 2 pies, the 2nd came out 20 min after the first, it literally had a the center missing and they had the nerve to ask if we still wanted it or wait 20 more minutes. Why did they even cook it in the first place????? Salads had wilted lettuce and mushy fruits. The only thing this place is good for is ambience and beer. Everything else is bad. I've never had a bad meal or drink here. The bartenders/wait staff, are always eager to please. Food is good, the Strawberry Salad is very good. Fresh, and filling! Also, love a Tito's Mule! My previous review had an added star... This time it's minus several due to our server. Believe me I wouldn't ordinarily do this, but her attitude towards " me" was absolutely horrible to the point where my 5 dining companions were also upset. I guess some personalities just clash and I get it. But the truth is that I wasn't even able to ask a question from the get-go without being bullied? I thought to myself- no you are just imagining this - it's not real , haha I was just about to call for the manager but at the same time was hungry... Not wanting to cause what someone of her character could do to my what I would ingest seemed like the smart way to go.... Anyway, it wasn't easy for me to sit back and tolerate her nonsense, but I did. She wouldn't even serve my beverage - to me .. she gave it to one of my table mates... This was only the beginning. We ordered pizzas - each different types, sizes. On Tuesdays they do personal size pizzas as a BOGO - dine in only, which I ordered with the server adding abruptly that 'I" could not take mine home? So enough became enough and I said - I'm ordering MY pizza that I am going to pay for at a table where we are seated here to dine ... Not to take out. Whatever is left AFTER we dine here at this table I or any other fellow diner expect to take home the remainder of what we have paid for, should we choose to. She then said that there would be no box???? Have you ever? When it was time to leave if you can believe this she gave everyone a " box" but me! I kept my cool and decided to just take matters into my own hands I excused myself, got up and walked over to where they make the pizzas. I asked the cooks for a small box or container for the remainder of my pizza and was cheerfully given one. What do you all do after being treated this way? Would you just be grateful that was all that happened and leave ASAP? Would you tip - or short change this server due to attitude etc? Would you speak to the manager? All of the above? We went to the car show there Tuesday night. Very small turn out and now I know why. They have zero respect for your pride and joy. Not the fact that we were there spending money. Service and food were fair at best. When we arrived all looked good. They had put cones in every other space so no one would park near your ride. We brought our freshly cleaned Ferrari and appreciated that. We headed inside to eat. A staff member noticed we had parked there and gave us a raffle ticket. When we left just after 6 ( the show goes to 8) all the cones were gone and a suv had parked right on top of us. Literally on the line. No one let us know it was over so we could have left or got our food to go. Total lack of concern and respect for us and my property. Full on sleazy move. My family and I just ate here this Tuesday for the buy one get one free personal pizzas and we loved it. My dad and I got the chicken pesto and the pulled pork pizzas and split them. They both were very good and for the price they were phenomenal. It's brick oven and they load up the personal pizzas with toppings. Will definitely be coming again on Tuesday!!! read more

Went to the Epping location with my friends yesterday. We ordered 4 Caesar salads. 1 with chicken 3 with steak. The chicken Caesar and 1 of the steak Caesars came out at a reasonable time. The other two steak salads came out at least 25 minutes later, almost burnt (they were ordered medium rare. Our friends had finished eating. We were told by our waitress she would take care of these on our bill. When the bill came out it was the full price plus two drinks titled "fallmosas" which we hadn't ordered. After talking with what I would presume to be a manager. They took off the drinks we had not ordered, the price of 1 Caesar salad (not including the extra $16 for the steak to be added), and a personal pizza that we had ordered to go which was $13. Delicious pie! This place was a bit more trendy then your typical pizza joint. Families can certainly come here as well as bar patrons enjoy their space.They were quite a few additional items besides pizza on the menu and everything that we tried was pretty darn tasty. My wife and I went here today to try it as we had a gift card. First time..... probably the last time. We got the spinach artichoke dip to start which was half decent. We got the 2 small pizzas(steak bomb and spinach ricotta) which were pretty good. Now the reason we probably won't be back. We put Parmesan Cheese from the shaker on our table on the pizzas. After we were finished eating we noticed GREEN clumps in the shaker. I pointed it out to the waitress and she said, "Oh, I must of forgot one. Great place to eat. We showed up unannounced with 13 adults and two toddlers the staff worked quickly to accommodate us. To me that's what will make me comeback forever. The pizza was very good and they also have choices for gluten free as well as non pizza eaters also a nice drink selection and the all important chocolate milk for my grand daughter.... Friendly staff is shortchanged by an over-worked or understaffed kitchen more into theater (dramatic pizza dough tosses) than efficiency filling orders. After patiently suffering through the long delay playing with salt and pepper shakers and napkins, food is welcomed and quite disappointing. The "cc fee" (credit card fee) tacked onto the check was the final insult. Hope the $2.09 extra charge was worth it because we won't be back anytime soon. I recently bought a house up here and heard mixed reviews about the community oven. We were hesitant to go there especially to sit outside on a picnic table too due this the coronavirus. We brought the kids and dog and had a very nice waitress (Alex). We ordered the wings just salt and pepper dry rub to start. They were okay. We ordered two pizzas and a caprese salad with chicken. Pizza was not bad and caprese salad and chicken was good. We are very fussy and after reading all the reviews about poor service and raw chicken we can tell you that it wasn't so bad and we may even go again once they are open without restrictions. CO is a pleasant place to sit at the bar or at a table. Lots of TV's running sports, etc. Nice atmosphere. Decent beer list. Good job of dealing with COVID. Food on the other hand is sometimes hit or miss. I've learned to order my Buffalo Wings "well done". If not, they'll be served with the meat up against the bones medium/medium-rare, a no-no for chicken cooking. These LARGE wings are cooked over open flame so nicely charred on the outside. I think they need to pre-bake them for a good 20min then finish them off on the grill, to order. The other night I ordered a Steak Bomb Calzone for the first time. In general, very good but for a few oddities: 1, al dente green peppers; 2, no salami; 3, no mushrooms detectable. Doubly odd about the crunchy and bright green peppers was that the sauteed onions used were perfectly cooked? A green pepper undergoes a major flavor change when fully softened and its use dates back to pre-bomb days when it was just a "pepper steak". Usually go there about twice per month. Went last night with another couple. One person ordered nachos with hamburg and received what amounted to a plate of chips. Had to send it back and it was returned with cheese and some hamburg. Ordered two LOCAL drafts. The beer menu has no prices listed, Was shocked to get a bill for $9 each-this isn't Boston.
