In late March/early April, My wife and I hired Alex and his team to pour a concrete patio for our backyard. We had a few companies bid for this project and Alex's bid came in at a significantly better value. My wife and I are extremely happy with how the patio came out. If I were basing this review solely on the concrete patio itself, it would be a 5-star review. Your experience may vary; however, this was my experience. Before any work would be done, Alex told me his crew would put down boards for the skid steer loader to drive over so that any damage to my grass would be minimal. However, no boards were put down and damage occurred to one of my underground irrigation lines. My backyard has a security camera set up, so I was able to see when the damage happened. Alex's crew fixed the damage to this irrigation line, but only after I sent Alex pictures and videos of the damage occurring. Once the crew had finished pouring concrete, Alex did not stop by for a final walkthrough. So, I called and texted him about a couple of open items I wanted addressed before the project was finished. First item: When the crew had set my AC units down, the AC's flex conduit had pushed into the wet concrete leaving a small impression that needed to be patched. Second item: The crew had dug up my irrigation control wiring and poured concrete over it. While I would have preferred to have the wiring run through some conduit before concrete was poured over it, this was not the case. Previously, I had this control wiring running neatly along the side of my home before it went into the ground, so I asked if Alex could splice it and extend it so that the wiring lay neatly as it did before. Eventually, these items were addressed, but 3-4 weeks after Alex initially promised to do them. Finally, upon starting up my irrigation system in May, I found that the other two zones had also been broken in the same fashion as the zone Alex's crew had repaired. Repairs were done to these other zones by my lawn service company, and I informed Alex that I had these repairs done. Alex offered to reimburse me 50% of the cost of the repairs; however, we were not able to settle on the reimbursement as the request was made for my wife and me not to post a review should we accept the reimbursement. Again, overall, my wife and I are extremely happy with the concrete itself, but the lack of communication post-project led me to an overall 3-star experience. I can't recommend this company based on my experience.

I hired Alex and thought that it was going to work out well. He said that they had a cancellation and could do the work on Thursday and that it would be a two-day job. He also offered me a $200 discount, which was great, but I had to remind him when he sent me the invoice. I got a confirmation text that they would be at my house between 7 and 7:30am on Thursday. Later, I received another text that they would be at my house between 2 and 2:30 on Thursday. I kind of ignored that one. Anyway, at 7:11am on Thursday, no one had arrived so I sent Alex a text. He responded that they were a day behind (would have been nice to know sooner). Anyway, the team (no Alex) came the next day and were very quick. They were done by 3pm. At first glance it looked pretty good. The next day, I took a better look and was very disappointed. There were some places where the concrete was only 2 inches thick, and others that were 7 inches thick. The slope was inconsistent. I called Alex and he came out to look at it. He offered to patch spots, but I was not convinced that it would actually correct the problems. I had someone else come and look at it - not a contractor who wanted my money - and they recommended that it be removed and re-done. It was apparent that the team had not properly prepared the ground below. I wrote to Alex to let him know. After 5 business days, I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. I then sent Alex another email to let him know and this was his response: "That's fine. Keep your money. I guess you got a free patio. Best of luck in life." He took no responsibility for the terrible work that was done. While I'm glad that I didn't have to pay for the terrible work, now I will need to pay someone else to remove the patio that is there and pour a new one. In the end, it is going to cost a lot more. I cannot recommend this company. In fact, I would suggest that you proceed with caution or choose someone else.

The Concrete Company was incredible. We had a great full patio and walkway exactly one month after our consultation. Troy was so helpful in answering our questions about financing and adding a last-minute change order. The crew arrived on time (early!) and worked until the job was done. When we realized a sprinkler had been damaged, Alex was out within 3 hours to repair it with no questions asked. HIGHLY recommend. Thank you!

We had the Concrete Company do stamped concrete to our existing patio as expansion. They did a great job and we are very happy with the result. Troy was very quick in responding and their crew worked so hard. Their price is fair and came abit lower than few quotes I'd received. These guys even came on weekend to finish the job. We would highly recommend this company. Thank you.

Alex (the owner) and his crew did a great job replacing our concrete driveway, which had been lifting in several places, and adding much‑needed stability.

Denver Decks just completed the work on our new deck. From the very start to the finish the…read moreproject has been great. The new deck replaced an old wooden deck that had seen it's better days. The understructure of the old deck was beginning to fail and the understructure supports the roof that covers most of the deck. Before hiring Denver Decks to do the job we used AI to recommend good deck companies in the Denver area. We contacted four companies, three responded and Denver Decks was one of those three. Our deck is 17' x 20' and the estimates to do the job were similar. We were promptly contacted and set up a meeting with Paul Koehn from Denver Decks. We met with Paul and quickly realized that he was much more that just a salesman for the company. He had built many decks before moving into sales so his knowledge of what is needed for a new deck was extensive, readily available, and we actually enjoyed discussing our project with him. Paul also indicated that Denver Decks always complies with the codes and permit process that exists for such projects in Denver. One of the companies that we contacted said that they do not pull permits for work in Denver and if something goes wrong during the process it would be our fault! Paul had lots of photos of other projects that Denver Decks had completed. The photo collection was extensive, well organized, and included pictures of stairs, railings, deck surfaces and lights that have been used in other projects. It really made it easier for us to decide what we wanted for our deck. After deciding on what we wanted for our deck the deconstruction of the old deck began and we got to meet/talk with Jay (project manager), Mike (site manager) and Jim, the craftsman for our deck. The communication throughout the project was great! The roof, that covered most of the 17'x20' deck, was supported by three 4"x4" posts that were set upon the deck surface that was supported by two 2"x8" boards on edge. I was very nervous that the aging understructure might fail and drop the roof onto the deck. Denver Decks installed 3 caissons to support the new 6"x6" posts that would now support the roof and 3 added caissons to support the outer edge of the deck. Each cement caisson was 19" in diameter and 36" deep. My worries about the roof falling ceased to exist! After the old deck was removed Jim began to build the new deck. I do not have words that can adequately express how impressed we were with the craftsmanship, construction knowledge and care that Jim displayed in building our deck. The skill that he displayed in all aspects of the construction were amazing and the best that I've ever witnessed in all of the projects that I've ever hired or been around. He built our deck the way that I would've built it if I had his knowledge, skill, equipment and his many years of construction experience! Thank you Jim! Such decks are not cheap and the price for Denver Decks to do the job was similar to that of the company that said they would not pull permits! Building a deck is one of those many situations in life where you truly do, "get what you paid for" and we didn't pay a cent until the job was finished to our satisfaction. Apologies for such a long review but a short review just would not do in this case. Denver Decks did a great job for us and we wholeheartedly recommend them for your deck. They can add us to their lengthy list of references who will be glad to discuss Denver Decks with you for your project! Thank you Denver Decks for a job well done!

One of our biggest projects to tackle was the fireplace. We envisioned not only keeping it wood burning but making the room feel less like a cave and more bright, cozy and welcoming. We contacted several fireplace vendors and found one that helped with the pieces, but for our actual project we were told "you need a mason." So to the search engines we went. After talking and meeting with a few and getting some quotes, we chose to go with Adkins Masonry and are glad we did. From the beginning, Tommy was fantastic to work with. It's clear through conversation that he's passionate about what he does, and equally clear that he's very talented after looking though his portfolio. In the grand scheme of things, our project was pretty minor compared to a lot of jobs he does, but he treated us as if ours was the most important one whenever we met or discussed it. It was about a year in the making. We had an initial meeting to suss out our vision and come up with a plan. Then my partner and I took our sweet time to make sure we found the right natural stone for the look we were going for. We then started the demo, which was done incrementally as our project evolved over time. It took a while for the stone and hearth to come in, but once it arrived, Tommy was able to really get going. Since we were keeping it wood burning, and since Tommy is a mason, we ended up using brick rather than wood to frame it out which helped insulate it and make it safer. He also placed insulation over the vent, which did not exist on the original, to help protect the electrical and cable wires that ran behind it. We debated putting the TV over the mantel vs off to the side, and we ended up running power for both options to future proof it. Once the brick was laid and dried, he and his crew installed the concrete mantel and the giant hearth (which I cannot even begin to tell you how heavy it was). Next, he began to overlay the stone, first mortared into place, and then grouted to finish with the right color. It was really crazy to watch how each step completely transformed the project again and again. We are so happy with the way it turned out. The room still has a ways to go (floors, trim and oh, furniture) but I cannot recommend Tommy and Adkins Masonry highly enough. He was a complete pleasure to work with.
