This is a very classy and clean boutique venue of adjoining rooms with a common kitchen gathering area that flows very well.

The drive was quiet and the driver was kind as well. The receptionist was very nice and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed while we got checked in. She was patient and answered any and all questions we had. She even made suggestions on a few places (in addition to the spots in the hotel) to eat at while we were there. I can't seem to find the rest of the pictures I took of the room and lobby but everything was clean and smelled nice. I think other hotels should follow suite and rid of the nasty carpet in the rooms. I have no complaints about our stay. I will be returning to stay at this location during my next visit.

I went to the front desk and they moved us to a new room. The new room also had the same issue as the baseboard the very well but at this point, we were tired so we just decided to stay. Once my husband turned on the shower he realized why the baseball is for let and involved be in the spot. Apparently, when the housekeeper clean the shower, they don't turn the shower off off to face the shower wall instead is out of the shower and in the direct direction of the wall and baseboard has copying it to get wet when you go in the shower. Other than that, the rooms were clean a location is great. I love having the park across the street and the hotel is dog, friendly, nice and attentive.

What went well: the customer service is exceptional. They are kind, accommodating, attentive, and friendly. Everyone from the valet, to the receptionist, to the waitstaff was jovial and had great energy! The perks! Marriott Bonvoy members are treated like royalty. You get 50% off of valet, 2 complimentary drinks at the rooftop bar, delicious , complimentary breakfast buffet, AND $25 off 347 Grill/Shula's Steakhouse. They spoiled me so much, I'm going to expect this type of treatment everywhere! The beds are really comfortable. Improvements: The toilets don't flush well. I had to switch rooms bc the toilet in my first room clogged. The glass doors and sinks in the bathrooms are cloudy and look worn with watermarks. The bathroom showers have stains and what looks to be mold in them... additionally, there's very little privacy when using the restroom bc the doors don't have proper sealing and are thin, glass... There's a slight mildew odor on the lodging floors and in the rooms.

When I arrived, they said there were "no rooms available." They claimed they "couldn't pull my card deposit," yet no one called to update it. I always lock my card while traveling, and in all my years staying at Marriott properties, I've never once had a card charged before check-in or a reservation canceled without a call. This was shady, inconsiderate, and completely avoidable. To make it worse, the property looked nothing like the photos dimly lit, outdated, and tired. Believe the reviews that say it's run-down. The staff was rude, dismissive, and lacked professionalism. Thankfully, I booked Hotel Indigo within minutes bright, modern, and welcoming. I'll gladly pay three times the price for a place that values honesty and service. Marriott used to be my go-to, but after this experience, I'm done with this property and seriously rethinking Marriott altogether.

I really did not mind at all to pay and have free range of the house but I was not allowed in unless I took the tour. This is not convenient for people that are on a time crunch or tourist that speak little to no English and don't care for a spoken tour. It has been my experience that in these old houses and plantations, there is always an attendant in the house ready to answer questions but you have free reign. Most of these houses have placards or guided tours over prerecorded phone calls. It was a big waste of time and gas because the main attraction is definitely the house.

I knew I would be arriving around 4:00 and understood that they closed at 5:00 p.m., but I really just wanted to enjoy the gardens and grounds. There was an accident on the freeway and it was 4 :40 p.m. when I arrived. All the intrigates were already shut and locked. I was annoyed as they are supposed to be open until 5:00, but I understand that some people are excited to go home and want to close up and leave early. Undeterred, I got a hotel for the night and made sure to come back first thing in the morning. I could not be more confused by the reviews. It looked to me like no one had been taking care of the grounds at all. The grass was brown, and a thick layer of leaves was covering everything. When I went to park in one of the few spaces I saw, a woman in a sedan opened her car door and let her three small dogs run out off leash. I watched them dedicate while she sat in her car on the phone and I knew it was time to go. I can see now why the employees are keen to leave early.

Next morning I walked into breakfast area, they had a big board behind the buffet and coffee machine that said "latte, cappuccino" listed a bunch of drinks ... but no barista. so I looked around for who might make a coffee. Took about 5 minutes to find someone who worked there. I asked "who do I ask for a latte?" And she says me! So I order vanilla latte. No vanilla. but she offered caramel. I said sure and asked for oatmilk. No oatmilk but she offered almond. I figured I'd try it. Also asked for a to go box for some fruit because we were in a hurry. She asked for my breakfast voucher ticket. The woman the night before said nothing about a voucher. So I had to run back to the front desk, stand in line for another 5 minutes or so , to get the voucher. (Why wasn't it given to us at check in??) All this time my husband is waiting in the car bc we are late. I go back to get the latte and fruit. As i had her the voucher she says the latte isn't covered by a voucher and I'll need to pay for that ‍ The board has no prices, and it's right behind the breakfast bar. And she told me I'd need a voucher right after I ordered, but didn't mention it wouldn't cover the latte? Annoying experience. Besides that the hotel was so so. A bit dated and musty. The AC was SO loud. Parking was easy.
