The theater itself is located in the West Village and is pretty small. There's only ORCH and BALC seating. Bathrooms were upstairs by the bar area. They were mostly gender neutral for crowd control, but it did get a bit weird when an older man used the urinal while there were women using the stalls.. DATA follows 4 coworkers and the un/ethical use of AI within a surveillance project. The play starred two actors from Netflix series I haven't watched and two Asian American faves of mine - Karan Brar, who's been in Disney's Jessie, and Justin H. Min, who was also in a Netflix series and Wong Fu Production YouTube shorts! I didn't love the transitions between scenes bc the music was BLASTING and the lights were intense, but it tied with the overall minimalism of the show. The storyline is the star. I waited at stage door after the show to meet the actors! Overall, I personally really enjoyed the play! It ended on a cliffhanger, which is up for discussion. I'd recommend for anyone interested in thought-provoking, analytical discussion, as the play highlights a very real possibility of AI in today's world. Super intriguing!

I loved the theater was very small and intimate which means that every seat is a good seat. Here were some of my favorite parts of DATA: - As someone who works in tech, the parts of the story where they were speaking tech jargon was actually very accurate. I had to stop myself and ask am I in a work meeting right now, haha! - I loved the lighting design as there were so many cool moments where the lights really set the scene. - I liked that they didn't try to give the resolution away and just ended the play at a spot where it leads to more discussion by the audience. Here were some things that could've improved: - I felt like they set the scene for a bit too long in the beginning as we were going through the same premise for quite awhile. - In between scenes, the edges were strobbing lights while the theater itself was completely dark. Maybe because my eyes were very dry but it kind of hurt my eyes a bit for that extreme contrast. - The theater was extremely hot. Granted it was 18 degrees outside but I was sweating by the end. Unfortunately that is mainly why it was 3 stars. Overall, I think it was a cool play to watch!

The show is only being performed this week, and the remaining performances are on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon & evening. Not only did we thoroughly enjoy every minute, but it's a charity benefit for a wonderful/small Bronx non-profit called Rocking the Boat.

I can honestly say the quality is just as good as Broadway, and for a fraction of the cost. What's neat is it's a charity organization, so all proceeds go to a different NYC-based charity each year, so you're putting money toward a good cause while also getting an afternoon or evening of entertainment. (And the tickets are tax-deductible... always a nice plus at this time of year). I've enjoyed every show I have seen of theirs, and am looking forward to seeing their production of City of Angels this April!

The first thing…read moreI saw were the condoms readily available as I checked in, along with a useful pamphlet on How to Use a Condom (complete with drawings), both of which I hope to need someday. (Already, this was going well.) The theater itself is tiny, and without any amenities. The seats are just chairs lined up on risers. There is neither a concession stand, nor a bar. There IS a tiny little bathroom with a sign that says "No flushing during performance" (the theater is that small), but no sink to wash your hands. Which isn't a big deal for me because...well, look at me: proper hygiene isn't among my priorities. Despite all this (or perhaps because of it), I kind of love it. It's so unabashedly low-budget, and the performance was so brazenly ridiculous. Admittedly, I've only attended the one show at The Brick (so far), so I find it a bit hard to separate the venue from the performance. However, if Flying Snakes in 3D is any indication, this tiny little theater books thought-provoking, amusing, outlandish, avant-garde, FUN productions. They don't follow any rules, and there's something extremely enjoyable about seeing other people enjoy themselves so much on stage. Be warned: This isn't Broadway. Don't come in expecting any traditional sort of theater. I mean, I've never pelted performers with rubber snakes before. At least not during the performance, and at their behest. If you do take a chance on The Brick, as you should, I would just go in with an open mind, prepared to see a show unlike any you've seen previously. Which I think is a good thing.

Or you could spend a fraction of that on some truly original work. An innovative, intelligent, small theater. The work produced here is amongst some of the most trend setting, edge cutting, and experimental to be found in NYC, the U.S., and the world at large. And even better, if you show up to one of the last shows on a Friday or Saturday night, there is almost guaranteed to be a friendly and lively after party thrown in the theater space itself, hosted by the cast and crew. Where else are you going to see my own drunkenly performed karaoke versions of Journey, full length theater pieces about text based adventure gaming, and burlesque numbers performed by gorgeous men and women dressed up as Seven of Nine from Star Trek and Doctor Manhattan respectively, all under one roof? This sort of thing is simply not being done anywhere else. Show up or run the risk of being left in the dust of theater history. A few notes on the space. It only seats in the range of 40-50, so purchase your tickets in advance. If a show is popular, it *will* sell out. If you'd like to be part of the onstage fun, sit in the front row. The performers are on the same level as the first row of seats, and are frequently pulled up into performances. If you're more of an onlooker, head toward the seats at the back.

On this evening, we had the pleasure of seeing Hotel California; a Toronto, Canada based coverband for the Eagles! What a treat! It was 2 hrs (with 15 min intermission) of pure nostalgia! Overall place was clean and well air conditioned even though the theater we were in was kind of warm. Seating was spacious but the padding was kind of uncomfortable to me. After about two hours my butt and back were hurting. Just saw a musical called For The Last Time here as part of a Yelp night. Friendly and courteous staff. Each theater is small and intimate. Maybe only 7 rows in the one we were in. Good sound and sightlines no matter where you sit. Even better is that on the top floor there is a full lounge and bar area. Nice place to chill out at before a show and grab a cold drink or snack. Plus, they have large clean air conditioned bathrooms up there.

Honestly, there's not a bad seat in the house, but I always go for the center mezzanine. Great view every time. Tonight was the grand finale: the Stars of Tomorrow (kids) winner took home $5K, and the adult winner--a saxophone player--won $20K! The show is hilarious because no one is safe from the crowd. If you don't bring your A-game, you're getting booed off stage. Only downside: the venue is currently under renovation, and the air conditioning was barely on--borderline uncomfortable. But even that couldn't ruin the experience.

The band had embarked on their North American tour from their native South Korea. Since I had never seen the band before as well, the adventure to a new space for me made the whole thing more interesting to me. Now I travel via the MTA, and from Bay Ridge this event space is a bit of a hike. It's the R train to the N to the 7 to a fairly decent walk. Those who are driving or taking an Uber might have a little better trek experience than I did but that being said once I made it past the famed Unisphere and over to New York State Pavilion, it was time to go into the Queens Theatre. When I arrived there were already about 100 attendees lined up because the band was doing all sorts of VIP things with them. A cool part of the agenda for sure. Inside the theatre is a spacious lobby area with seating all around near the windows. There are concessions there but I only saw drinks being sold when I looked. There was a small merchandise table for the band set up and I imagine that when other shows happen here this will be their space as well. Right off the bat I connected to a complimentary WiFi signal which was good but seemed to go on and off during the course of the performance. Once I was in the actual performance space I was quite impressed. The stage is sizable which was great because this was a five member band with a full backline and the seats were oh so comfortable. Yes this was a Rock Show and people would likely be standing throughout the performance but when it was time to sit you could do so in comfort. I positioned myself in the eighth or so row on the aisle since I needed to shoot photographs and I was happy to report that there were no bad sightlines in the theater. The sound was also clear and impressive which was partially a testimony to the bands team on the tour. While I didn't get to explore the venue all that much outside of the show, I did see one of the spacious side rooms which I guess they do talks in or smaller events. The band has set up their meet and greets there so it was in and out in terms of time to examine. There was a complimentary WiFi that I did find to be spotty at times but I feel this was based on the amount of people choosing to live stream the show. There were obviously restrooms and while I can only speak for the men's facility it was quite clean which is always a pleasant find. Overall this was a great experience for me but I cannot fathom when and if I might make a return based on the logistics and scarcity of what most interests me happening here. I will be keeping tabs on their calendar for good measure just in case and maybe some other localized Hard Rock bands can look into it or even local promoters who wish to do something that is no too crazy.

We had a hard time finding parking as the show was about to start and the park is always busy. There were two small lots nearby that were full. Upon entering check in was easy. They had a small concession stand. The seating was great with no obstructed views. The play itself was kid friendly and told the meaning and traditions of the special day. It was very informative and entertaining. I enjoyed the different styles of dances performed, the colorful outfits, the creative scenery (which was simple but effective). I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to visiting again.

As with most theaters, our exit was slow due to narrow stairways and slow-moving people and the lobby area is pretty limited, but I had a good experience overall.
