I visited The Container Store today before going to dinner since I was close by. The store is very clean, arranged and organized very well with a solution for almost all organizanal needs. The isles and each area are clearly marked, which helps reduce search time. I was looking for unique Christmas containers, wrapping paper plus organizanal kitchen solutions. I found many phenomenal ideas, but unfortunately, my cabinets aren't conducive to most of the exceptional products I saw. On a positive note, I found many containers that will improve my linen and bedroom closets, along with my kitchen areas. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly as I was browsing. They were stocking shelves and building displays with boxes out of the isleways. I ran out of time quickly, but I'll return to select the perfect items that will organize my overstuffed closets and cabinets. I'm very happy with the amazing selection, showing examples of how to use many items and the enthusiasm of the staff. I'll be returning soon to begin my projects. Fantastic store! read more

The concept: organize your abundance of crap by purchasing more crap. Okay, I know I'm being cynical but you have to laugh at some of the "organizational" products The Container Store sells.... Why, yes, this is a box to store your extra buttons that you'll never use again and it goes on top of the mini box of trinket organizers. Some of the prices seemed over the top given the Ikea feel of the product. My visit ended with no purchases but I will admit that I walked away with a new idea to make extra-storage in my wee kitchen. read more

You need storage solutions for your home? This is the place to be. It's more of a trap though. You go in maybe wanting a couple totes and next thing you know, you just bought a new closet because they were offering 15% off. Ok I may be exaggerating but you catch my drift. There are things in the container store that I never knew I needed. In the past I've purchased like 30 plastic shoe boxes because I thought it would be cool to reorganize my closet. Recently, I went in (because I had a email coupon) and came out with a onion container to keep them fresh in the fridge. Why did I buy it? because it was cool and I wanted to try it. See I'm not afraid to admit my problem, because you may have the same one lol! Overall, it can get a little overwhelming. At times you'll see some interesting things and you start imaging how you can maximize this in your home. The prices are a little higher than your normal Wal-marts, Targets, etc but they do offer coupons frequently. read more

I dunno: I'm a sucker for the Container Store. Sure it's expensive, and yes you're buying more stuff to organize the stuff you already have. But it's comforting to walk down aisles of glass jars and wicker baskets, all shiny and new and just waiting to be purchased and used as vessels for your junk. If I had a lot of money, I'd try out all of the laundry products the Container Store has for sale. They sell laundry detergent here that I've never even heard of before, in pretty glass jars labeled with French words. They make my family-size jugs of Tide look downright pedestrian. (By the way: They don't sell Tide here. Please. Are you kidding me? Where do you think you are: Costco?) One thing that surprised me was the variety of moving and packing supplies this location carries. These are located all the way in the farthest back corner. Everything from packing tape to bubble wrap to boxes of many sizes. Also, no less than four associates greeted me as I walked around the store. It's very nice and welcoming here. read more

My friend and I were shopping tonight (Saturday), minding our business making our way to the front as it was obviously closing soon (announcement was made at 845). There were 2 people in line at the register and it was still before 9 when Peggy approached us and said, "Is there anything I can help you with to end our night?" She said "to end our night" meaning she wanted us to leave so she could go home. She approached us again a few minutes later and asked us to leave because the store, "is now closed." It was 903 when we walked out, plus another 2 minutes by the time someone opened the door to let us out. I have never been asked to leave a store. I get that people want to go home but I wasn't in the back of the store or staying 15 minutes past closing. Peggy's comments were uncalled for and rude. There are so many more professional ways to ask people to leave (i.e. We have to close our registers, do you have any final purchases? I'm sorry but we're closing if you have any final purchases.). Peggy's attitude just ruined the entire experience of shopping here. read more

ok where do i start I had built a new house and surprisingly you only get basic wire shelf by default. They didn't look like they would meet my needs. I looked at several options before remembering the Containers Store. I went in explained my situation and they offer to have a consultant come out if you need a lot of assistance as I did. There is a small fee for this. They will measure whatever spaces you wish to see storage solutions for. They will make a plan and review it with you. The plans were right on what I was thinking. You can revise the plan and there is a large array of flexibility in the storage. They were able to turn small spaces into incredibly useful ones with very robust and strong metal storage. They do offer products for a wide range of decors and price points. I went with getting everything done at once but you could just tackle one at a time too if you wish. They delivered on time and a specialized installer came on the designated day and took everything out and got it all installed in the same day. Everything looks great. They gaurentee it as well. While i was in the store of course I had to pick up many of their items for storage as well. Lets just say if there is an item you want to store they most likely have a way to contain it whether it is the mundane sugar storage with spout, or options for fold-able laundry drying racks for your delicate items. I would recommend the store but also advise to watch the sales they will run a monthly or longer promo on specific segments. That is the best time to buy as in January they will put the closet systems on sale with a discount that includes installation savings. I was lucky as that is when I needed to buy it. It was expensive but I got a lot of storage which will probably last longer than the house. read more

I've worked here in the past and the customer service has extremely changed. I was not greeted until the end and was told that 15 mins before closing they are trying to end their evening. Peggy was extremely unprofessional with informing us that the store was closing. Nine is when you close and yes I understand that Peggy however you do not need to be rude while informing us in that way. I get you want us to leave but you don't need to say "You need to leave, our store is closed now" at exactly 9pm. That outstanding staff that I once knew is gone. I do not recommend coming to this store, diving to the closed one in the next state is more worth it. read more

Look for that item that you just need to make your house space-saving friendly? The Container Store probably has just what you are looking for. I needed to organize our laundry room and had a small opening by the washing machine that I was wondering could be utilized for laundry detergent, laundry bags, delicate bags and some other miscellaneous stuff that I had that just did not sit well on the shelves I had installed. Enter in The Container Store. I was actually heading to the another store in the area when I thought it might be neat to see what this store offers that is super large. I did not expect to find anything that fit my needs, but I was pleasantly surprised to find just what I needed that I had not been able to find anywhere else in Indianapolis. Some things I prefer to buy in person instead of online because the listed dimension can be a bit misleading. The price was a bit more than I wanted to pay but the items were just what I needed so I purchased three space saving baskets, a set of wheels and head back home. Not only did the baskets fit perfectly, they also matched the color of our washer and dryer which are space grey. They hold the items I needed to organize perfectly. I went back and bought a top basket that I use to store special cleaning agents, and travel cleaning items for long trips. The baskets have held up perfectly for 3 years. I wish they offered a military discount or had coupons occasionally for all items in the store as I have seen some other items I would love to have. read more

Everything you always wanted, never needed, thought about using only when in this store and so much more. If you want to find a way to organize your already organized drawer this is your place! I used to go to the store in Los Angeles and I remembered being sucked into buying the drawers separators for my underwear and socks. So this time I went with some caution!! You really can find anything in this store to put in your drawers or to build drawers that put everything in it's own place but, to be honest almost nothing here is really necessary. The options are vast but, they also come with a pretty high price point. When asking one of the associates how much something was he quoted me four times what it was on the box. I love the idea of having everything in my kitchen easy to find, reach, etc... but, when you start organizing the organizer it becomes a little much for me. The cashier was incredibly kind and really helped bring my cost down with my coupons. There are some really neat things that you might not see if you were in a Walmart or other big box store. They are more of a buy after you have the basics store. They don't have the drawers all set up to put their products in them unless you are wanting to buy the pull out drawers only and not cabinets. The prices are on the higher side; however, if you time it right, the sales can be pretty good. One of the major downsides to this store is its location. This store is always clean and quiet (surely due to the carpeted floor), but I generally have trouble figuring out which folks in there are employees if I need assistance. With aisles and aisles of floor to ceiling container choices, I recently walked out empty handed because they didn't have any flexible, silicone,heat-resistant flat iron containers. They had one hard plastic design that needed to be screwed into wood, and was too large, which didn't work with our space. I ended up buying one off of Amazon instead. Seems like most times I go to The Container Store I walk out empty-handed because they either don't have what I need, or if they do, I'm not willing to pay their sticker price for it. With that in mind, I now use their retail space to walk around and brainstorm for ideas rather than a place to make purchases. Sorry, Container Store. read more

If you can shop local and independent, please do. It is not the TCS employees fault that they don't know much about the product and don't really care that much (why should they?) . TCS likes to present themselves as design consultants - I found it rude and frustrating that they didn't really want to understand my space, the restrictions, etc. Retail is really hard work, and you can feel the effect of retail in that store. I spoke to two design consultants - neither one really had great advice - or insight - not much energy or enthusiasm. Like I said, who can blame them. I decided in the end to spend my small budget of $2,000.00 with an apprentice carpenter for a similar unit but with higher quality control and more of an impact on the individual rather than a large corporate store. read more

Highly Recommend to go with a professional closet company instead of using the container store for your closet design and installment. We designed and purchased our Avera closet back in August and we still do not have a final product in our closet (we're two weeks away from Christmas). The store ordered the wrong size pieces for our closet (even though a tech came and measured our closet twice), our install took 2 days over the course of 1 1/2 weeks instead of one day. The closet was installed incorrectly, so we've been waiting for the past 3 months to have them come and fix it but they continue to mess up the scheduling. One time they called me at 9pm the night before our scheduled install to inform us they would not be able to come out due to over-scheduling. Spend the exact same money with a company that actually knows what they're doing when it comes to closets. Save yourself the headache! read more

Just left this store after a not so fun experience. Glitch at the register, my card was charged $650, however the staff was adamant that it didn't go through on their end. I showed them where the transaction had gone through on my account and how the money has been debited. After a few minutes of going back and forth, one "gentleman" felt the need to be condescending, raise his voice and insist that I didn't understand how this all worked. I asked him to stop yelling, eventually someone in charge came over. Best she could do was tell me to wait it out and come back for the products later. On my way out the door, after telling them I wouldn't be back (ever), one of the guys yelled "have a nice day!" So add petty to the list of their awesome customer service skills. Ok let's be honest...I'm a sucker for a good bin or basket. This is like the Willy Wonka factory of organization. Need something for your kitchen? Got it. Wanna reorganize your closet? This place has everything you could possibly imagine to store everything you should probably be throwing away! I always seem to find thing I had NO idea I even needed when I came into the store! I would agree most of their stuff is a bit over priced but hey you gotta pay the play right? I mean you're buying boxes to put your shoes in or whatever. My only grip and why they don't get five stars is even though there always seems to be employees all over the store they never seem to have them at the register. ALWAYS slow and painful and a big big check out line at this location and the ladies are very slow and want to get your phone and email and sign you up for their list or loyalty program. Ahhhhhhh my Mecca, I came in looking for some things to help me get a little more organized, I've been familiar with Container store, even before we got his one. I used to drive to Chicago just to shop. Having one here has been a blessing and a curse cause I come in this place and get lost, literally... For hours I'm looking at ever single doo dad LOL. I didn't purchase many things but I absolutely got some ideas for a future project or two. I always get amazing customer service here. There is always someone to answer my questions (and I come prepared with a list). There is no shortage of things to keep you occupied either. I'm like a kid in a candy store. My advice if your like me is to come prepared with a list and a budget AND lastly the will to stick to them both. Fairly expensive little store, but we found what we were looking for. My mom and I run an online Ebay store so we have a large amount of stock in the spare bedroom and it was getting pretty messy. We walked out of there with two large totes and six smaller ones for just under 70$. I give 8t four stars because the particular day we went. It was MESSY. sure it was the weekend before Christmas, but come on. There were large amounts of stock piled up in some of the aisles which made it impossible to walk down a fair amount of the aisles... Hopefully the next time we stop in, they'll have things organized a bit better. read more

I was not impressed with this store. It was busy and crowded, but I really couldn't figure out why. We felt like products were crazy expensive, considering the low quality. Imagine ikea products with a pottery barn price tag. Most of the furniture appeared to be cheap fake wood material. We laughed at how ridiculous the prices are for this store. My wife and I like this store and is a must stop when we visit Indy. Some of the stuff is a tad overpriced but they have quite the selection. (the Elfa stuff is way too expensive) I've never had a problem with their location or parking, but I've always come during the week and not the weekend. I love The Container Store; the staff is friendly, knowledgable and the store offers quality products. A week ago, we purchased Elfa shelving to install in a home we recently purchased. This is the second home we installed Elfa shelving in for every closet. I took the measurements of our 3 bedroom closets (including the master), the linen closet, coat closet and the pantry to The Container Store and one of the designers had the complete designs drawn within one hour. Even given the fact that this was my second time through this process, I was still amazed at the efficiency and ability of the staff to quickly put together a well organized and well drawn closet. The quality of the Elfa shelving is great as are the other products offered at The Container Store. We found that Elfa shelving is easy to install and easy to reorganize if our needs change. It is a huge bonus to work with well trained and exceptionally nice staff. read more

We will not be coming back to this store. We designed a master bedroom closet over the phone/online with one of their "designers" and then came to the store to pick it up. Employees were not very polite and then after waiting around in the store for more than an hour were told that the materials for the closet were not going to be available until the next day, after we already drove all the way to the store to pick it up! Most things in this store look to be overpriced and fairly low quality. Save some money and go to Ikea instead. Glad we didn't end up buying anything here. Not a pleasant shopping experience at all.
