I wanted so much to like this place. After some discussions on Facebook Yuba-Sutter Eats as to which place (Stephens Farmhouse, Crumbl or The Cookie Tree) have the best cookies in YC. Having never been to the Cookie Tree I thought I'd give it a try. I went on Thursday and got 2 chocolate walnut cookies they were good. On Friday, I wanted to bring my 84yrs old mom there for coffee and some sweets. I couldn't remember if they had seatings inside so I called to confirm. The lady on the phone said yes there are indoor seatings, what she failed to tell me is there's literally one table, had she mentioned it I wouldn't have made the trip from south YC. Delicious cookies and cupcakes and very reasonably priced too. The maple bacon cupcake was a total hit. We also had some of there white chocolate almond cookies The crumble chocolate cookies were also amazing. First time visiting California and have heard about The Cookie Tree from family. It absolutely lives up to the hype! We had a few cookie trays brought in for a family event and the desserts were definitely a hit! All the cookies were delicious and I have to admit I tried four different kinds. I was on yelp looking for a dessert place. Saw that this place had four stars and I thought there must be some mistake. I came in here once to get some cookies and/or desserts and was disappointed to see only a FEW cookie choices (few as in 4-5 kinds). Then disappointment turned into disgust when I saw flies flying around inside of the cookie case. DISGUSTING. So I went to another dessert case that looked like it had a cake or two in it (maybe brownies) but it didn't matter as soon as I saw flies flying around in that case as well. Went here for the first time today and left completely satisfied and in a much better mood than when I walked in. When cookies are so good they make you giggle, you know they're doing something right. I got the rascal cookie (peanut butter and chocolate marble) and the oatmeal butterscotch cookie. Both were amazing. I took bites of my friends' cookies and enjoyed each of them (teacakes, M&M's, macadamia nut-something) just as much. My boyfriend got a peanut butter cup brownie. I took one small bite and felt like I got diabetes -- in a good way. So incredibly rich. One whole brownie could satisfy the sweet tooth of 5 people, easily. It was about 5:30 or so when we went, and there was surprisingly still a decent selection of cookies, and none of them tasted stale at all. Had a peanut butter chocolate brownie and a milk (in a carton, just like grade school so Funny). Brownie was fudge like but I was expecting more of a kick of peanut butter in flavor and amount. Service was ok. I think their hick up sometimes happens when people order coffee drinks with a lot of additions.
