I bought a dozen Cookies a couple days ago, I think this is the second time I bought cookies there, didn't have white chocolate macadamia , which is what I wanted so I got white chocolate almond I believe they were and chocolate chip walnut cookies ? Really shocked that I'm having to leave such a poor you for a cookie shop! Really shocked that a cookie shop could have such poor tasting and quality cookies that I have to leave a bad review! That takes real effort to screw up cookies this bad! I bought about 5 different flavors for 3 of my family members, including myself. They were all EXTREMELY dry!!! To the point of almost like biting into sand and flour. Nothing had any take the sweetness that a cookie should have and that none of us could tell what any of the cookies were what. Even the cheap chocolate chips didn't have any flavor. We all threw them out after 2 bites each because there was just nothing. I've been to at least a handful of cookie shops that sold only cookies in my life. My bar is based off Hot Cookie in San Francisco which is the best all cookie shop you will ever go to! I didn't expect this place or any place to be that good, but did at least expect Mrs. Fields level. These tasted like cookies from someone experimenting for the first time and then leaving the cookies out for a day to get stale. Nice service and packaging though. read more

I grew up with Cookie Tree, and now with children of my own, I wanted to pass on the tradition. It's too bad this place has gone way down hill. We (husband, two kids, and I) stopped in on a Friday evening around 7pm, and got to enjoy the pleasant conversation between two employees as they bashed a phone customer in front of us. They then proceeded to ask us repeatedly if we were ready YET. Finally my husband thinking they were in a hurry to serve us, because they needed to close, asked if they're were closing soon, to which they replied "no" they don't close until 9pm. They continued to rush us, and were annoyed when we ordered for eat in. I ordered a vanilla bean cheesecake, my husband ordered a red velvet cupcake, and my son had a cookie. My cheese cake was too dense and tasted of cream cheese and sour cream. Granted I've made plenty of cheesecakes in my life and know that cream cheese and sour cream are two of the ingredients, but I shouldn't be tasting the ingredients separately. It literally tasted like a mouthful of cream cheese. My husbands red velvet cupcake, used a chocolate cake mix, instead of cocoa, and was topped with butter cream frosting YUCK!!. Everyone knows red velvet is always topped with cream cheese frosting. Needless to say, everything we ordered tasted like it was thrown together in a half-ass sort of way. and the service alone made me never want to step foot in there again. I guess I'll have to create a family tradition with a new bakery. I hope the owner reads this, so they know what their employes are doing to drive customers away. read more

The cookie tree is one of my favorite places to come to when I'm in yuba city! Their crackles are the best! Whenever I'm traveling to visit relatives or meeting up friends from out of town, I ALWAYS come to the cookie tree to get a variety of different flavors to share with everyone. It is truly a gem here in yuba, since we don't really have many places to come too for treats like this! If you haven't been here I really recommend coming :). Okay, so. Cookie Tree. Sounds great to a mother with a five year old desperately needing some mama time after a new sibling comes along. So, load up and head out to have a chat over a couple iced sugars, and bring something home for the husband, yes? Well, maybe. Unless you have your husband's debit card today. Then, the young girl behind the counter, who after having silently, crankily (apparently she hates her job? I don't know, but it was clear she was Not. Happy.) watched you fight the doors with five year old and carseat full of sleeping infant, will ask you for your id. Not a big deal, whatever, my bad for having the husband's card and no cash. No harm, no foul, have a nice day. You would think, anyway. What is not cool is for the cranky cashier to continue to stare at you as if you are toejam, while holding a death grip on your/husband's debit card. Cripes. So the kid is starting to cry (Because cookie was promised, and It was going to be a special time with mama, who feels like a complete donkey at this point), and you have to reach far across the counter to get your/husband's card out of the death grip the cashier has on it while she is still going on about how she can't because xyz, and is obviously reluctant to return said card to you nefarious character, you. Cheese on a cracker. Load up now heartbroken boy, slide carseat of infant into it's base, drive towards home with a sad little boy in the backseat. Stop at the coffee place where they know you, and upon seeing the face of the boy, and likely frazzled face of the mama, ask if they can GIVE HIM A COOKIE. Holy cow, yes please, and can I buy a something huge and frozen just because you are awesomesauce with a side of Not a Cranky Ass? My newly postpartum self did not feel like breaking out the flour and rolling pin that day. It would have been more pleasant. Moral of the story: You work in a damn cookie shop. You are surrounded by sugar, small people, and parents looking to have a good day with those small people. Your life does not suck. If I can slap a smile on my exhausted postpartum self and still be polite to you, you can perhaps not try to hold us hostage via death grip on debit card while kids are starting to lose it. read more

Recently moved to Yuba City and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the cheesecake and cookies were at cookie tree. I also ordered an ice coffee that was better than any Starbucks I've ever had. All that being said, the service was horrible. The lady was rude and appeared to be bothered by having to serve me. I thought she might be having a bad day and decided to try it again on a different occasion. Sure enough, everything was still the same: delicious desserts and coffee, and horrible service. Since living in Yuba for about a month and a half I have probably visited the store about 4 times and every staff member I have had interactions with had the same horrible customer service. I love the desserts but I might have to find a new dessert shop because I just can't handle how bad they make me feel for asking them for a cookie and some coffee. read more

I see people complain about the price. Around a buck a cookie is not bad for a killer cookie. The cookie tree cookies are right up there with several top flight bakeries that are full service. They are priced the same or cheaper than those bakeries. I can see some of the complaints with the staff but I never have a problem as I know my order well in advance and have little interaction with them. I'm not from Yuba City so I don't know exact addresses but I hope that this is the right place! To be blatant, The Cookie Tree is AMAZING. My bf's sister originally took me here and every time my bf and I go up to Yuba City to visit his family, we have to go here. The cookies are slightly pricey but it is completely worth it because the cookies are just amazing. I've had honestly no complaints about the cookies and I always feel the need to buy extra to take home for my friends and of course, myself. Yay for cookies from here!
