This place is just a quite bit outdated and the food is quite mediocre. However, when it comes to a nicer dining spot it is one of the only options within Harrison hot springs. The nice part about it is the dance floor with live music at times but the service is very slow. I'd probably opt to go to a different spot unless you're into that old school vibe. read more

We came in on a Saturday (yesterday) for my birthday and was so happy they could accommodate us. But wouldn't have came if I knew how rude our waiter would be! He was an older gentleman with gray hair and a mustache! You can tell he didn't care to help us! We wanted to leave right away! We had an amazing dinner at the Copper room on Friday night April 5th. We started with a homemade tasting chicken soup we shared and then we split an incredible baby romaine Caesar Salad. My wife got one of the specials a fresh bouillabaisse, which was stuffed with yummy premium seafood. I got the filet steak, mashed potatoes and veggies. It had a beefy sauce that was nice and complimentary to the steak. For dessert we had two fruit cream filled French Choux Pastry Balls, that featured a small container of thick chocolate syrup to pour over them. The food is alright, but great value. Steak, soup, dessert for $44 per person. Why I am giving them 4 stars is because of the amazing service and brilliant atmosphere. Located in the resort, the restaurant has been around for a while so it has a very retro feel to it. Couples come here and families come here maybe as a tradition to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. It was my parents 30th anniversary, and so we celebrated by getting dressing up and getting dinner here. My sister raves about it's live music and dance floor. They play musical classics while you can go up and dance. They also announce any special occasions and the server will come up to you with a dessert and a sparkler to make your day unique! While there the server also offered to take lots of photos for us and got us anything we needed. Very memorable evening as it's the first time I've seen my parents dance in a while. The service was terrible. The only positive was the live music. The food was overpriced and low quality. I paid $80 for the chef's choice and $78 for the tenderloin--both were disappointing. We waited 50 minutes, and the waitress didn't even take notes for our order, resulting in mistakes. We were seated at a hidden corner table, which felt disrespectful. There were also clear instances of rude and racist behavior, as Asian customers were treated differently. The staff was short with their words and even spilled water without apologizing. We did a 3-night stay at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort recently, and had booked our room via their 'Senior's Getaway Package' - which included room, buffet breakfast each morning, and one dinner at the Copper Room. This was our first dining at the Copper Room in quite some time - we (same threesome as before) reserved for 5:30 pm, the second (middle) day of our stay. The walk to the restaurant was colourful and festive, with several pretty, seasonal/holiday decorations along the way, and at the entrance. Sorry, did not have a camera when inside (other photos were taken before and after), to show how lovely it was decorated, but it was, and provided such a warm and festive ambiance for our dinner!! Service was friendly, very cordial, and attentive throughout our stay. What we ordered: Mom ordered an entree - prime rib - from the regular 'A-La-Carte Menu' -- daughter and I ordered from the 'Chef's Special Menu' - beef tenderloin entree for she, pork tenderloin entree for me - with a little sharing of the other courses (soup & salad, sorbet, and dessert) amongst the three of us!! :-) Presentations were colourful, and sure perked appetites when each was placed on our table. Preparations turned out to be totally on-the-mark -- soup - warm and flavourful -- salad - fresh, cool, and crispy -- sorbet - cool, and tangy -- entrees (and their sides) tender, juicy, and flavourful -- dessert - sweet delight. Went here with my bf for a night cap. We got here when it was almost closing time so we only had drinks and desserts. Surprisingly, their dessert is all you can eat and costs $15/person, although there's nothing special about the dessert selections Our server, Nicole was so enthusiastic and nice! She came by our table a few times and encouraged us to grab more desserts as they were closing the section. She also took photos for us. The band was good - they played a few songs that I recognized and ended the night with a slow song. My family and I have been visiting Harrison Hot Springs Resort for over 50 years. The Copper Room never disappoints. I was there over the recent Easter weekend with my family. It was a special visit for me because it included my children and grandchildren. My sons have visited several times during their childhood, and now my granddaughters were visiting for the first time. Total Disaster! We booked a window table for my birthday treat. Table was far from center of room, which we liked, but the waiter (who boasted 17 years experience at this job) didn't come by very often. Our evening started off badly as the waiter screwed up the first drink order (lemon drop served with no lemon?) Then he screwed up the second course of the chef package four course dinner. Sorbet was the second course? I've enjoyed it as a palate cleanser, not a course by itself... So why did we get the main dishes and no sorbet? The waiter then fumbled a weak apology and served food that had been sitting under a heat lamp for at least 45 minutes. Dried up chicken, dried up sauce, stringy overcooked vegetables. The other meal had melted cheese soaked into and binding up the dried spaghetti. We had sat down at 20:30 and left to speak to the Manager (Travis) a little after 22:00. We were not looking for refund but it was too late to reset or dinner and get fresh food. The manger said he wouldn't comp my meal as "we have very little profit". This is not our problem. Disappointed dinner guest should have been his top concern. We did see a Copper Room discount on our folio at hotel checkout, but by then the damage was done! The room itself is a little dated but well appointed, well maintained and clean. The live band played many cover songs well, which we enjoyed. Even gave me a shout-out for my birthday! This has the potential to be the go-to place; but first the staff need some training, then the menu needs a make-over. Diners deserve better value for the prices charged. Do yourself a favor and skip this one! At every other interaction with the Harrison Hot Springs staff we were delighted. Sad that this one was so bad. read more

I come every year with a group of girlfriends. We stay the night at the resort, enjoy the pools and go for a nice dinner at the Copper Room. Being the only vegan, and knowing how few vegan options there are in Harrison Hot Springs, I have to say that my expectations are very low, yet every year so far I had managed to get a decent dinner there. There would always be at least one vegan option, often involving quinoa, and it was good enough. (Let's say 3 stars.) This year I was told my only main dish option was "quinoa cakes in spicy tomato sauce." Sounds good! The only veganizable appetizer was a bowl of mushrooms in white wine (hold the butter). I have to say I had never eaten so many mushrooms in one sitting - but they were tasty, and I wasn't going to leave any on the plate, just in case the main turned out less-than-satisfying. Glad I was prepared... I had to chuckle when my main arrived: the quinoa "cakes" were just two little mounds of quinoa (about 1/2 cup each), as plain as it gets (well, maybe cooked in broth because there were tiny flakes of veggies in there). Nothing to bind them together or deserve the word "cake" applied to the dish. The spicy tomato sauce was poured around the mounds and, I have to say, pretty tasty. There was also a single roasted carrot on top of my plate. That's it. As I said, I go to this event to enjoy the company of my girlfriends, and the conversation was excellent that night, so I was not going to throw a fuss. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable, the wine was good and the music and dancers added to the great atmosphere. But, seriously, this was a joke. Dear Copper Room executive chef: this is the 21st century and plant-based diets are the number 1 food trend, especially among millenials. Maybe you don't know how to design a vegan dish, that's OK. There are a number of specialists who will create a suitable option for your menu for a few hundreds of dollars (look up Nikki Hurst among others). It will even be gluten free and allergy-friendly if you need it to be. You can do this! I'll be back next year. read more

The wife and I came here for the first time and we really enjoyed ourselves. We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday, and there were plenty seats. It is still suggested to make a reservation like we did, weekends can be tricky, I hear. The food was pricy but great. We met/know people who have been going here for decades. There is a mandatory dress code, anything but shorts, tshirts, and sandals/sneakers. We both ordered the chef's special 4 course meal, $44 each. I really like the first course's mushroom salad (I'm a mushroom guy). I tried my wife's beef tenderloin with potatoes, which was perfectly soft and tender, and my steelhead salmon was great with the creamy sauce! The raspberry sorbet was creamy and soft, another of our favorite. Our waitstaff worked with our desire to replace a dessert on the menu with ease. Our drinks were never below halfway empty, even after the place filled with dinner-goers in our 3 hour stay. The live music was great as well. We got the courage to dance a few times after seeing so many do the same. We enjoyed watching some of the professionals dance ( there was a great elderly couple there with their family who were tops). All in all, this is a great adventure to experience with your loved-one. At first glance, I was super excited to experience this restaurant. As the one of the only nice places in town, I had high expectations for the food and the entertainment. We decided to dress up and make it a special night for us. There was a pretty good live band playing some classics at the front of the dance floor while we sat beside. Here I was happy and excited to check out the menu... sadly this is when it started to disappoint. The prices on the menu were ridiculous. Yes this is a nicer restaurant with entertainment but it's Harrison Hot Springs... $32 for a Ravioli is unacceptable. I was reassured by my bf that I shouldn't worry as he had budgeted for this amazing dinner but I was not convinced. We started off with the Pork Belly Scallops with Parsnip Puree & Apple Cider Glaze ($20). This came with 2 deliciously constructed large scallops stacked on a crispy pork belly. So far so good! Next I ordered the Ravioli filled With Brie, Caramelized Figs in Garlic & White Wine Sauce. Yes I said it was $32 but I really didn't want meat that day. The al dente ravioli unfortunately lacked flavour and seasoning. It was mild and mainly tasted of figs when I bit into them. I had actually forgotten that it was supposed to be a white wine sauce. My bf had the Wild Boar Chop with Blackberry Mango Chutney ($56). It was a large portion of lean meat and admittedly quite tasty with the chutney. I only had a couple small bites so I can't comment too much on this dish. We finished off with the Berry Cheese Cake - Fraser Valley Goat Cheesecake, Guava Mousse & Blood Orange Sauce. It had a distinct goat cheese flavour and was dense like a NY cheesecake. I liked it quite a bit. Possibly the best thing we had that night. The service was great and the drinks standard. What a fantastic and perfect evening at the Copper Room! We came here as part of the Romance Package with the Harrison Hot Springs Resort. We're both in our 30's and the other patrons were definitely a bit older but we didn't mind at all! It was actually quite enduring and sweet to watch all the older couples as they impressively showed off their dance moves on the dancefloor and put us to shame. The live band (The Jones Boys) were spectacular! They played a lot of great covers of hits and were taking requests all night. Our package included a 3-course meal from the Chef's menu, everything was absolutely divine. Hot Rolls and Butter Fresh, hot baked bread (choice of white or whole wheat) with soft churned butter to tie our stomachs before our meal. Butternut Squash Soup It came out piping hot, wonderfully flavoured and the perfect portion. Sorbet Raspberry sorbet to cleanse the palate before our entrees. The portion was generous enough that I opted to not finish and save room for the main event. Black Tiger Prawns A nice play on the shrimp cocktail, these prawns are poached, served with cold sides of edamame beans, enoki mushrooms and a tomato on top of a Japanese sesame dressing. Beef Tenderloin It was cooked perfectly and the quality of meat was incredibly tender. Great flavour! Trout Generous portion of trout! The trout itself was melt in your mouth buttery with the help of the brown butter and capers sauce. There was also something about those roasted potatoes that still has me dreaming about them! The package itself wasn't that great of a deal but this restaurant was quite spectacular! We ordered from the menu for the package and from the regular menu and both entrees tasted excellent! I know it's not entirely fair to compare San Francisco restaurants with small towns, but the Copper Room is expensive and tries to be a classy restaurant - so it should act like one. It has some work to do. Copper Room: If you're going to have your annoying dress code, then take responsibility for it and let people know at the door, and be sure to return people's items when they leave. You removed my hat from my head at the table, took it "somewhere" and then failed to return it later. Then your coat clerk wanted to start an argument about it. Train your staff. Don't antagonize guests. Additionally, for the prices, the food was fairly average and smaller portions, and your bar could use a few more ingredients for a "high-end" restaurant. The music and dancing was nice if it hadn't been marred by some staff that don't understand customer service. read more

The service was enjoyable, the food was okay, the restaurant is old, the seats of the chairs totally worn out. The band whose performance left a lot to be desired was scheduled to play for four hours, of which they took breaks for 1.5 hours and only about 1 of the remaining hours was an attempt to provide danceable music. It seems the band was just playing for themselves. They did not respond to the audience at all. Plus, we were staying at the hotel the restaurant is attached to so it made it a very short walk from our room. Ambiance is dated and aimed towards the elderly population. The live music was also catering to their tastes. It was nice that I listened to 10 plus happy birthday dedications throughout the meal. The bread is unlimited. The food is fine dining prices but the portion size is generous. The menu was focused on locally Fraser Valley sourced ingredients. I have been spoiled by Vancouver fine dining standards that the food tasted only okay to my tastebuds. We did not book a special package with the hotel that would have included a meal here when our server asked if we had a green card. Our meal came to $150. The service was decent. Need an excuse to wear that bombing evening gown or tux you'll never wear again? You got it! It's like this unpretentious place to have a 'fancy' meal out, live band to play and dance, it's a kinda step back in time and pretty fun. Go on, get up there and shake your rumpa. (Separate dance floor for the kids though! Gotta keep the old folks happy!) Anyway the service is fine dining which is nice for a treat, you can feel catered to yet not hovered over, and the package menu is like $50 bucks so go for it, it's the least expensive option, Harrison is expensive no matter where you eat! And food is, well, fancy without being gourmet, nothing to rave about (has a sysco touch about it) but presented nicely, I enjoyed my chicken and veggies, I skipped the potato and asked for double veg, no problem, you can have whatever you like, as you like! The sorbet ... well, it was pretty frozen tasting, but whatever. Nice wine choices. A fancy coffee to polish off dinner and we were good to hit the pools again. Go for the experience. There's no place like it. Seriously, when do you ever get to do this, not for work? Essentially I could choose from two ravioli options or buckwheat risotto as my main dish. The menu doesn't contain a single vegan entree. I ordered the Mezza Luna, which was described to me as a brie-stuffed ravioli with pesto. It turned out to be brie and fig-stuffed ravioli, which in theory sounds amazing, but was oddly sweet. The pesto flavor was barely detectable. Eating one single flavor and texture profile in the main dish bored my tongue. I could have eaten the beet salad with goat cheese, microgreens and truffle oil as an entree it was so flavorful! I wish the portion would have been more substantial than the size of a single small beet. The cheesecake was dense and creamy--just what you want from a cheesecake. The decor is very dated and would improve significantly, and at no cost to the restaurant, if they simply removed the tacky copper-colored curtains and valence. Don't sit close to the stage on nights when a live band plays if you'd like to talk with your dinner company. The service was very professional, etiquette-focused, and at times austere. read more

The absolute worst experience ever. The "manager" Travis should not have a job there. He single handily ruined my mums 70th birthday. He's rude he's condescending he should not be in the hospitality industry. He took a small issue we had with their dance floor policy and turned our night upside down for an hour until we just walked out. There was 20 of us and he couldn't care any less about our having our business. Harrison has just gone completely down hill thanks to people like him. He needs to find a new job where he does not have to deal with customers. When I was booking the hotel, I got a $88 voucher for this restaurant so my boyfriend and I came to have dinner. We had an early dinner at 5:30 and we left at 6:30. We sat right next to the dancing floors where the seat was designed to view people dancing. The performance hasn't started so we could not judge on that. Service and food were great, especially for a place where fine dining isn't really available like Harrison hot spring. I tried the beef tenderloin and my boyfriend had the lobster. My beef was cooked way better than the dinner I had last night at Morgan's. I tried my boyfriend's lobster, it was sweet and juicy. I took a star away because of the price. We spent 130 for the dinner without getting desserts, and a decent dinner like this in Vancouver might cost less than 100. Overall this is not the best food we had. I would have been OK with paying $25 per person for this 'adequate' buffet, but it is FAR more expensive than that... the beef was tough and I was offered a single, skinny slice that was half fat. There's always something special about places that have a dress code. As long as they live up to that requirement set on their patrons. And frankly, this place, on the evening we went (Late July 2016), lived up to that requirement. Our server was very kind and willing to answer questions with a smile. We were a large table and she was assisting everyone as our head waitress, and she immediately understood that there would be separate checks. With discretion she would come to every party she thought was a "separate party" and would ask who would be included in the bill. So suffice it to say that the service during our meal was filled with just as much consideration without at all being weird. The food was great! I ordered salmon (as one should when in British Columbia) and it was very good, not dried out not undercooked. Perfectly cooked albeit typical but delicious sides of asparagus, carrots, and potatoes. I ordered sparkling water which was kept beside the table, and I felt like my glass was never empty. The Copper Room definitely pays attention to its patrons and makes them feel catered to. The live band was playing some music which was mainly aimed at pleasing the ears of some older generations with some disco and some funk, but being with such a group and seeing that the majority of diners there were teenagers in the 70s I found it appropriate. We had a blast on the dance floor while our deserts were being brought to us (we rushed the floor as soon as we finished eating). I had a typical crème brulée (I've wanted those all this summer). If I could reduce half a star from this place I would merely on the basis that I did not find the menu to be too inspiring. Some "safe" choices from the chef made the Copper Room far from avant garde, but I'm not willing to bring it down to 4 stars on the basis that the effort from the kitchen and the staff was undeniably on point. The restaurant seemed to be popular for an older clientele. There were a few 90+ birthdays being celebrated as well as a couple of 60 year wedding anniversaries. One thing to note is that you do have to pay for parking and it's $5 an hour. When we arrived, I asked the maître dee if the restaurant off set the parking and he said no. When I said that was unusual, he said "in the 13 years I've worked here, the Copper Room has never paid for the parking". His attitude was a little off putting, but luckily our server, Joseph made up for the rudeness of the maître dee, and our food was excellent. read more

I give it 5 Stars - because what is there to complain about ? The food was amazing. Served on nice HOT plates ! I had the Steak Dinner, it was tender and the mashed potatoes were the best I ever had. I really like the service too. Very attentive. I think they do a great job . Its such a nostalgic experience. The band is really good . Its a throw back from the old days of the past. I think the room is very romantic. A few people were dancing. The atmosphere is very nice. read more
