Parking - nice lot, gets very full Atmosphere - cross between bar & diner, bright Food - solid - tho avocado toast is a bit plain Service - friendly & happy - probably could offer water refills, not that we wanted more tho glasses were empty when we left & nearly empty at last table visit (truly nit picking) We were staying about 5min from here & stopped in twice. Once during our stay & again on our way out of town. Both visits were nearly identical in service & quality. We ordered different items & the only thing I wouldn't order again is the avocado toast. It wasn't bad & the avocado was a perfect specimen. It was just a bit uninspired & there's a lot of creative competition in the avocado toast market. Biscuits done right. The go-to here would 100% include a biscuit - the biscuit bowl (the inspiration of the opening comment) was fantastic and filling, definitely not the average American diner breakfast, while having all the same components- figure than one out... the chicken biscuit is right up there with the breakfast bowl. Parking was a little insane, but damn I really liked this place. I came on a warm Sunday at 11:30am with a girlfriend, I wish we had made reservations, but it was a last minute decision. Regardless, the wait wasn't bad for an outdoor table, 20 minutes. Indoor seating was available, but we all know MN summers last two months then it's winter the rest of the year so you have to take advantage of nice weather. Plus this patio was too cute. The service, everyone was incredibly NICE. I'd say that's actually hard to find these days, that everyone working smiles at you and seems to like their job. The menu was large and interesting. We really wanted to try a new item, salmon bagel bites or something, but they were out, disappointing. However, the pancakes were probably some of the best I've had, so freakin' fluffy, I wanted to wrap myself up into it. We also had the Mexican hash that came an addictive biscuit, and the marinated shrimp as an app. We were happy with all of our choices. This place is my new go to brunch spot in this area. read more

And thankfully, if you're in the southeast metro area, The Copperfield offers a solid brunch offering with a cute and spacious interior and a plethora of choices. Brought a friend from out of town here since it was nearby and I'd heard good things about it and it did not disappoint. Ordered the Mexican Hash, which had fantastic hashbrowns! More often than not, I seem to get hashbrowns from restaurants that tend to avoid crisping them up. Like at all. That's not the case here. Wonderfully crisp, yet not burnt, I really enjoyed the hash and the chorizo! Also crisped up and perfectly paired with a buttered up English muffin. Perfection. Service was good, speedy yet not overbearing and parking is a breeze - plenty of spaces in the lot, and on the street. Had a lovely Saturday brunch at the Copperfield. As an added bonus- they are easily accessible by a (very hilly ) bike trail! Just before 11am, we were seated right away inside a two person booth. The patio was full. Shortly after 11am, large groups started coming in and the place was packed! Seems like a popular breakfast spot in the area. Our server was prompt and attentive. I had a mimosa to start. It could have been chilled a little more. The Mexican hash was fantastic and overly filling. It will last me two more breakfasts! There is plenty of room for parking due to the large parking lot located right out front. The Copperfield offers a nice size menu, ranging from healthy options to flavorful drinks and dessert. I chose to get a sandwich with a side salad. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere of The Copperfield is hip and fun. Went to this place with family members .Nice ambiance. Aside from that, it was not impressive. Unfortunately, our server was inexperienced and inattentive. This lead to half of our group receiving their soup, however salad's didn't come, when they did , they were wrong. Brought a second time, wrong again. Third time salad was brought with 1 entree, but no one else had their entrees. Entree was taken taken back. Salads finally came. All entrees were brought out 10 minutes later,. The one original entree brought back( COLD) One member of our group was missing a fork and asked for a new one. That server never brought a fork. Had to ask from another server for one. Many of the dinners were too salty, or were too smothered with sauces or herbs. Do not recommend. read more

We were in the area and decided to try a restaurant we hadn't been to before. Our server told us burgers can only be ordered pink or no pink. We like rare or medium rare so no burgers for us. But on the way out we were told by the person working the door that burgers can be ordered to temp - not sure who gave us the correct info. My friend and I decided to come to The Copperfield for a coffee date on Saturday to catch up with each other and get a good coffee somewhere that we haven't been before. We met here on a Saturday morning at 11:30am and wow, was it packed! Luckily my friend called and made reservations, which I highly recommend doing, so we were able to be seated right when we arrived. However there was a wait line of about 20/30 minutes and the place was so busy and loud. Where we were seated the noise didn't impact as much but it's a big open room so sitting more towards the middle of the room or near the bar/kitchen could certainly pose hearing challenges at certain times of the day. It didn't take long for the waitress to come around. She brought cold ice water right away and was back within 10 minutes to take our order. My friend and I only planned on meeting for coffee, so I ordered an Americano and my friend ordered a regular dark roast coffee. They were both brought to us in nice mugs - and was delicious coffee! I'd certainly come here again for a coffee. As I looked around The Copperfield I couldn't help but notice the super delicious meals, desserts and pastries. I had already ate something before I left my house to meet my friend, so I didn't order anything. However I can assure you that I definitely regret eating before coming here because the menu and meals looked INSANELY delicious. So now I have to plan another trip back and try a few things on the menu - which I'm looking forward too! read more

My parents were in town, so we got a group together to try The Copperfield! This is a cute and delightful little joint - I loved the decor and atmostphere, very upscale-cafe like. We were drooling over the pastry case at the front while we waited for our table to be cleared for our reservation. My one big gripe with this place was it is LOUD. With 6 of us, we were consistently yelling at the table to the point where my throat hurt at the end. At 25, I don't care too much about sound, but I have a grandmother that's hard of hearing back home so it's something I'm very aware of when I go out. I wouldn't recommend bringing anyone with any hearing issues/hearing-aids here. One thing I really appreciated about this place was that even though it's on trend, it had a nice large menu! It was easy to find all different types of meals for all different types of people. For appetizers, we started with the soft pretzel and cheese curds. Curds and pretzel were both good, nothing unique but you can't go wrong with either of these. Loved the beer cheese dipping sauce with the pretzel. For dinner, my mom and I split the Cranberry Chutney Turkey Sandwich with the side of pasta salad. The sandwich was delicious, hearty and sweet and very filling. The pasta-salad is definitely a star, rich and flavorful with more of an italian taste. I can't speak on the price since I didn't pay the bill, but overall this place is good! Definitely get a reservation, and I'd like to try it for coffee/breakfast/brunch. read more

I will be updating this soon, as we are planning to go back to try more of the menu. You know you are setting yourself up for a good time when you drive into the lot and exclaim "this is adorable!" The inside is really nice--clean and spacious, I don't have exact words but the vibe was definitely warm and inviting, and we were seated quickly. The service was nice and quick. I do appreciate the waitress paying attention to accommodating our needs for "saltless hash browns" for my infant. Now the food! I've heard the Copperfield had great food and I think that was pretty accurate. I had the chorizo hash and it was a great portion size. I look forward to trying more of their items! read more

My first visit was a brunch date and I had the Mexican hash with a biscuit, I don't normally like biscuits but the waitress advised me to just try it because they're really good - she wasn't lying! Ugh so good! After my brunch experience I knew I had to come back for dinner and I wasn't disappointed. Today, April 29, 2023, I got delivery from The Copperfield. I ordered the Mac Daddy Burger with Waffle Fries for $15, and the Fresh Berry and Cream Cake for $8. The Mac Daddy Burger was excellent. It was juicy and flavorful, and the waffle fries were crispy and delicious. The burger was kind of sloppy. which might have been from delivery, and I ended up using knife and fork in a more civilized approach . The patty was really well done on the outside and the center was still a little pink and the whole thing quite juicy and delicious. The cheese nicely melted onto the burger and the top of the bun. The Copperfield has their own burger sauce, and while it's the typical sort, it's very tasty. Rounding out the toppings: 5 dill slices, red onion, two nice tomato slices and shredded green leaf lettuce (yay no iceberg!). The bun was puffy, like, and delicious, and held up everything rather well. The waffle fries were exceptional: no floppiness here! Even after the trip in the box with the burger, they remain super crispy and delicious, and stayed warm throughout my meal. They added two extra condiments cups: ketchup and burger sauce, which were quite welcome. For dessert, I indulge in the fresh fresh berry and cream cake, which I gratefully set in the refrigerator upon arrival. While they don't have a take-away box that holds the slice completely, it offered the delightful prospect of licking the whipped cream of the lid This cake is a tour de force of sponge separated by layers of chocolate ganache and berry cream, made from real berries (raspberries I believe) and whipped cream. The whole is slathered with thick, lovely whipped cream, and accompanied by an handful of mixed blackberries and raspberries. Truly a delight that would win the hearts off any British bake-off fan. Total cost delivered was $31.93, including a $6 driver tip. I am happy to include The Copperfield in my regular rotation of take-away, and will be thrilled to attend in person when the occasion arises. read more

Had a pretty good experience and will be back. Our food was great, the portion sizes were excellent, and the inside was beautiful and spacious. However, our server had a bit of a tude that turned what would've been a 5 star experience into 4. The mac daddy burger and walleye sandwich were outstanding. The walleye was a 12oz filet lightly fried and topped with melted parm. Yum. Both sandwiches came with perfectly crisp waffle fries with their special dipping sauce (which reminded me of Big Mac sauce). While our server was attentive, he was pushy with adding drinks/dessert to our bill. At $17 for a fish sandwich, I wasn't looking to spend more money on food I didn't REALLY want. He gave a nice little eye roll whenever we declined his offer for drinks/dessert. I even made a comment that I was so full from the walleye I couldn't possibly have dessert. That's when he informed me that, well, yeah, the walleye was a 12oz filet and there should be an eating contest for anyone who can finish it (hi, hello, I would win that contest because I finished it). I tried to brush it off by laughing and suggesting that my picture go on the wall for finishing the sandwich, but really I wanted to thank him for the backhanded fat shaming. Sigh. Oh well, I'll be back to eat another massive portion of food with no shame! Had a very good dinner at The Copperfield. The highlight was probably the appetizer. Everyone at the table agreed the brie and cranberry bruschetta was spectacular. However, that's not to say that our meals were not good as well. The chicken sandwich was good, and my wife loved the goat cheese and beet salad. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. And the restaurant itself is very nice, though it feels a little like a chain (it's not) in decor. We always like to try new places that serve breakfast. Overall we would are giving it a 4. The service and ambiance were good. The regular pancakes had a distinct taste which is good in my opinion because a lot of places taste like box mix with no enhancements. The peanut butter chocolate chip pancakes were rich but a little dense. Can't go wrong with a BLT. I enjoyed the copperfield sauce that came with the fries. We visited Copperfield a few nights ago. My sister called ahead of time to make sure they had a soup my mom can order. We chose this restaurant as its close by and they were serving Carrot soup that day. My 91 year old mother is unable to swallow non-liquids. The service was pretty slow. I ordered a blood Mary. The drink arrived with a soggy piece a celery, a pickle and a smoked meat stick. My sister enjoyed the meat. The blood Mary tasted like it was tomato juice poured from a metal can. It tasted metallic with no other flavor. I couldn't tell the server as he was busy with others. My mom seemed to enjoy her old fashion drink. The server moved slowly from table to table. He dropped off one to two drinks per table and did not seem to know how to multi-task. This is a skill I learned as a server back in the late 80s. He was very nice. When it came time to order, probably about 6 pm, we are told that they are out of the carrot soup. This was a big bummer as my mom could only have this soup. We finished our drinks and left. Not sure I would go back. It seems almost like a cafeteria setting, although u do have a server. The pace is very slow!!! read more
