While this place was pretty great, I didn't find it awe-inspiring, with the exception of one product. If I had only bought my meat at the grocery store, I could easily see myself giving five stars... only with me, that is not the case. BACKSTORY: My mother is a stickler when it comes to meat products, and where they come from. This being the case, she is distrustful of ground meat products sold at the supermarket, as according to her, you can never really be sure where it all comes from. Being the case, when it comes to making any product involving ground meat, we make it ourselves, including sausages and burgers. Burgers are one thing, but when it comes to sausages... working with intestines (for casing) is a dreadful amount of work. Still, she was curious what these products would be like from a real butcher shop, as opposed to the regular stuff from the supermarket. So, being the Yelper in the family, I took to the Yelp-o-sphere in search of a local, highly rated butcher shop, and came across this establishment. Why am I telling you all this? Well, at the beginning I mentioned I don't buy all my ground products at the grocery store, and later said that we make sausages ourselves. If none of these products were made from scratch at home, this place would have gotten the coveted fifth star. PRICE: In terms of price, this place is right in the middle, between a raw, unprocessed, unseasoned, unshaped piece of meat at the grocery store, and a prepared meal at a restaurant. FOOD: I was able to try several varieties of sausage, steak tips, the plain burger, and the "Jake's" burger. In terms of seasoning, everything was seasoned quite nicely. I did not find any of the products under or over seasoned. The only exception is the plain burgers, which by their very nature are unseasoned. The quality of the meat was high, however, only the teriyaki steak tips had that melt-in-your-mouth awesomeness. The rest was just high quality, well-seasoned meat. Sausages, for instance, were a little dry for my taste. VALUE: As I've mentioned, this place is quite expensive. Considering the meat was of high quality, but with one exception not "melt in your mouth", I found the price a little steep for what I got out of it. Be advised, however, this is in light of the fact that I've eaten burgers and sausages made at home from scratch. The service is patient and polite! read more

Purchased fresh baby back ribs for the holiday recently. Steve suggested a recipe to add a rub, refrigerate for hours, then wrap in foil bake for 90 mins. Open foil, pour on barbecue sauce. Decided to invite my sons up from Boston for some spring grilling, and wanted something better then Whole Foods. I spent some time reading the Yelp reviews for some of the old "stand by" butcher shops on the north shore, and they looked like they had gone down hill. Then I came upon The Corner Butcher Shop, and the -star yelp reviews did not lie. The gentleman behind the counter (Steven I think?) could not have been more helpful, pointing out the key attributes to a good Rib Eye. Ended up getting two bone-in RIbeyes, a NY Strip and 4 fillets, and they were all excellent. Could not have been more pleased. Excited to have a new go-to place. read more

This place has the best steak tips I've ever had! Make sure you try the house marinade, it's delicious. Not only is the food top quality, but the staff is extremely knowledgeable. They explained in detail the best way to grill those tips, along with the sausages that we got. Their small frozen food section is well stocked with gourmet foods that you can't find anywhere else. The pierogis were to die for. They also sell potatoes that are the size of my head, and my kid thought that was the coolest thing ever. So cool that she was willing to try the asparagus (that the owner also gave us cooking tips on) and loved it. I'm a customer for life! read more

I love this place. Great quality meats, and the marinades are no extra charge from the plain versions. All ingredients are listed so you know exactly what's in your food. It's not organic meat, but no antibiotics or hormones, so it's the next best thing. The owner is really nice. He has even brought the bags out to my car when I have kids with me. I love supporting a small, quality business like this. The only slight downside I've ever noticed, is that the owner has a pretty heavy hand when you specify weights and sometimes the price ends up shocking me a bit. We LOVE this place!!! Across from the Cummings Center, so pretty convenient to stop in throughout a day of errands and work. All the meats are great, dogs love the beef bones in the freezer, and lots of other goodies sprinkled throughout as well! This year we ordered our turkey and had it brined -- AMAZING!!! The family has now nominated us to acquire the bird every year haha! Helpful staff at the counter is always ready to help me figure out what the heck to make for dinner. Love everything about The Corner Butcher Shop, so glad to have this place just a few minutes away from home. Every single item we have tried here has been outstanding. We marvel every time we eat the house steak tips, trying to figure out how on earth they get them to be so tender. After making them for out of town family guests a few times, we now have requests to bring them a delivery of steak tips whenever we travel to visit them! The marinades are unique and packed with so much flavor. We like to charcoal grill and sometimes a good marinade can get lost in the process, but that never happens with their stuff - especially the Olive's chicken! Other stand-out favorites include the "Marley" sausage and the bbq pulled pork burgers. And don't forget to try the loaded potato salad!! The customer service is superb, owners Melinda and Frank clearly have put their passion into this business and it shows. Stopped here on a whim after work, I live an hour away. Best sausages we've had since moving to NH from Montreal 8 years ago. You have to try the pulled pork sausage! The Corner Butcher's meats are always super fresh and great quality. The service is great too, and I really prefer the small shop experience to a grocery store. I recommend the pork chops and chicken tenders! They make sure to stock plenty of veggies and sides, and even some desserts from local businesses. If you're concerned about shopping in-store because of COVID-19, I have to say everyone has been great about respecting the maximum number of shoppers indoors, wearing their mask well, and shopping efficiently. In a word, "Wow." I know it's a butcher shop, and maybe it's a little weird to get excited about a butcher shop, but maybe you need to walk in there to know what I mean. Got people coming over for a cookout? Need to know how many hamburgers to buy? These guys can tell you. Trying a new recipe that involves a gigantic "picnic shoulder"? These guys can explain what you need to do. (True story: I had a recipe, called them to order an 8 lb picnic shoulder, and then panicked when I went to pick it up. It's a big piece of pork. The guys calmed me right down, assured I could call if I had questions when I got home . . .seriously, I have been to doctors who were less empathetic and helpful.) They have marinated chicken, incredible sausage, great steaks and a bunch of cool, local products -- go in for chicken, and I bet you come out with pickles, charcoal, and a couple of treats for your dog. And if they don't have what you want, they'll order it for you. Check them out. I bet you'll find yourself weirdly excited about your new butcher shop. read more

Left the store a few minutes ago. I bought Hamburg for a total of $15.00. Opened it up to make a sauce for tonight and the inside of the Hamburg was brown. I have driven by here all the time and never stopped in, well the other day I did OMG this place is amazing, it is so clean, the display cases where they put the meat are also spotless the pictures you see on here are legit if you walk in the pictures actually look like the meat no touch ups everything is super fresh.
