We were avoiding the interstates on this Thursday before Memorial Day and when we arrived in town, we noticed the Corner Cafe. We took our seat and after almost 10 minutes, I had to go locate menus. Our server finally arrived with some, but of course we didn't need them. This is a typical small town watering hall with all the locals and shop owners eating and visiting. In fact when we left we headed to a precious antique store but a sign on the door stated,"I'm down at the Corner Cafe. Back in 20 minutes." The food was ok, the service was ok, the prices were ok. We were hungry so we were just glad to have a quick brunch. I had the grits and toast and their grits were really good...rich and creamy, not watery. My hubby had French toast and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server, once she came to help us, was attentive and kind.

Stopped here this morning after taking a drive out exploring as we just moved to the area. I am a huge fan of small hole in the wall restaurants and was excited to grab breakfast. Unfortunately, it was less than a pleasant experience. We were promptly sat down but it took awhile for the waitress to even hand us a menu. There was a family that came in several minutes after us and the waitress started taking their order. The father informed the waitress that we were there before them and she told him we had already ordered. Once we were able to order, it took the food quite awhile to come out. We ordered French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham and has browns. At first we were almost given someone else's food. The service was subpar to say the least. On to the food. Most small diners have amazing food. This place does not fall into the category of most. The Ham was extremely thin, very salty, and overly dry. My daughter took one bite and asked.me if she could have my hashbrowns. The bacon was way over cooked and crumbled when you took a bite. The French toast is not made with this Texas Toast bread. It looked as thigh it was regular wheat bread. Even the scrambled eggs were bland. I had to douse them with pepper just to give it a bit of flavor. I gave two stars because another waitress, not ours, kept our drinks filled and was very polite. However, I really don't see a second visit to this establishment again.

Had the pork chops, cabbage and rice and gravy. The pork chop was grilled as asked for and it could not have tasted any better. The rice and gravy was excellent but the cabbage although some people like it that way was slightly undercooked. The service was great as the waitress came by several times to ask if everything was ok. Good experience overall. Will come back again.

Early Sunday breakfast. Fast and friendly service from Dria. Food really was really good with a lot to choose from. We absolutely will visit again when we are back in town.

This place is a gem. They serve breakfast and lunch. The servers are friendly and patient. The food is delicious, it's like being at an Aunt's house. The prices are low, which makes you wonder if the good is good. Yes, its good. I gave 5 stars because ultimately, I ALWAYS feel welcome here.

I was told by friends this was a really good place to eat. Boy was I disappointed. I ordered the ham and cheese omelet, hash browns and toast. The omelet was overcooked and all the food was cold when delivered. The server brought the food on a tray, sat it on the table and went to talk to another customer. I had to get the food off the tray and serve my lunch partner& myself. The hash browns were the frozen type. This will be my last time here.

While they say they have gluten free options, its just the seasoning thats applied. The food options we chose were cooked well and had good flavor. AND the rolls that were brought out were like pillows of deliciousness. If they had used those rolls for their burger, my review would be much better. But overall I would return. Many have said it reminds them of an old pizza hut and they are correct. But its very clean inside.

Where you just kinda went, ate, and left without a sense of satisfaction? That's this place. I've lived in Etown for 7 1/2 years and I've probably been to Christopher's four times--long enough between each visit to forget why it's been so long since I've eaten here. I had the 12 oz Ribeye, which was sooooooo good!! Medium well with just enough seasoning that I forgot I asked the waitress to leave the A1!! The baked potato, however, was bland and dry, but maybe that's my fault and I should have asked for additional butter. And I don't know WHY that coleslaw had the funky flavor it had, but it certainly didn't excite my tastebuds the way coleslaw usually does! It tasted like cardboard. I should have listened to that little voice in my head telling me to get the fries! Like I said, the steak was bomb, but the rest was buns. In the future, I hope I don't say to myself, "Gee, I haven't eaten at Christopher's in so long, I have forgotten what it's like. I better find out." Nothing outstanding about the service, but nothing to gripe about either. The three employees we interacted with were nice.

It's a fantastic woman-owned and operated business that genuinely loves its community, and that friendly, welcoming energy hits you the moment you walk through the door. I live in Leland and gladly drive 40 minutes each way just to get my usual coffee fix here. It is consistently some of the smoothest, best-tasting coffee you will ever have, and after countless visits, I have never had a single issue. On my latest trip, I spent some time relaxing outside in their awesome new shaded seating area, and when it got a bit too hot, I moved upstairs to their incredible event space to comfortably work from my laptop. While I was working, I noticed a bizarre, highly inconsistent negative review by a guy named Jason C. It felt so staged that I actually showed it to the staff and the owner (who happened to be there!) just to let them know I wanted to leave a thoroughly honest counter-review. Frankly, Jason's review makes zero sense. He claims he went to two competing coffee shops back-to-back, starting at Gilded Coffee Company, and claims Gilded's owner randomly recommended he try Brown Dog. Why would a direct competitor advertise for the shop down the street? It sounds completely fabricated. He then complained that his caramel macchiato tasted like "sugar water" and threw it away. I'm not sure he even knows what he ordered--a traditional macchiato is intentionally layered, meaning the flavors are separated by design. If you don't know how the drink works, don't blame the barista! To prove a point, I ordered that exact same drink today and surprise, surprise--it was absolutely flawless, perfectly crafted, and delicious. Don't listen to the weirdly staged negativity from the competition's fans. Between the unmatched vibes, excellent seating, and incredible coffee, Brown Dog is an absolute local treasure. It is worth every bit of the drive!

We said "no". After we finished there, we went over and tried Brown Dog. My wife had a caramel macchiato and I had an apple pie latte. We also got two sausage, egg and cheese croissants. Neither one of us could taste coffee in our drinks. They were too sweet. It was like drinking sugar water. Neither one of us finished our drinks and threw them away. The croissants were way too small. The only thing that this place had going for it was that it was on the main street and was bigger. It was freezing cold inside as well. I don't think we will be back.
