We came in at a pretty dead time , so the complaints on here of bad service were not mimicked . We had a nice college girl server , who seemed pretty concerned with meeting our needs in a timely manner . Our appetizer of corn queso and chips was pretty good. The burger we got was super good , but the chicken plate seemed a little bit too pre packaged . Nothing was bad - but nothing was that good . This place probably would've gotten 4 starts except for how gross it was. Tables were not clean and there was empty glasses in a lot of places . I'd only recommend this place for going out to get drunk with friends , or going out with a parent to get drunk during the day. but really

Service: when we walked in, no one greeted us, and we basically seated ourselves. Two 20-something-year-old girls were working...college type, so not exactly super service-oriented. We go upstairs, sit on the rooftop. She gets us water and drinks (water tasted nasty). We order, but the food takes FOREVER to come out. Minus some on that. The waitress also asked one of my friends, when she went up to the bar to ask for something, to bring one of the drinks back to the table. Um, service please? Food: big portions. You see these chicken strips??? http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/IoeMMqJquDVRrJkhjH6HEA?select=59CtcjteVsWeGni0WQOHPw They're, like, one and half chickens!!! Most of us got the fish tacos. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/IoeMMqJquDVRrJkhjH6HEA?select=CJhLP1_BX5vPi6dMBXXECg Dannggg, they practically give you a whole fish filet in each taco. They are VERY filling. The salsa and chips were good too. The flavor was good and the tilapia was juicy fresh. Definitely not Baja tacos like I'm used to in SoCal, but delicious in their own category. Drinks: water = nasty. Pineapple juice = not real, some kind of mix. Blah, but at least better than drinking the water. Price: $5 weekday deals are good price (it's $5 flat, with tax). Even without the daily deal, you get bang for your buck. So, food was good, but service bad. So, if service was better, I might consider bumping up the rating.

I tried a couple of drinks out in the 2 days. I tried the Sour Hour and the Famous 1791 Old Fashion. The Sour Hour drink was recommended by the male bartender that was working on Thursday night. He was very knowledgeable and kind. It wasn't too strong, great ratio from alcohol to juices. I will get that again. On Friday night, I went down to the bar again to try another drink. This time, I can't leave College Station without trying the 1791 Old Fashioned. All I can say is this particular drink is in my top 3 hands down and I had many old fashions in my time working at my current job (on my day offs, of course). They put a teaspoon of brown sugar to tone down the strength of the Whiskey (Buffalo Trace) but not for the Whiskey to lose it's purpose. I will most certainly get it again. They also have a food menu just in case you want to order something to eat. Next time I'm in College Station and staying at The George Hotel, I'm coming back. Good job everyone that worked, this past Thursday and Friday night.

I'm not often as impressed as I am by Rough Draught. Awesome, awesome selection. Good people who enjoy talking whiskey. The interior and decoration and walls - it all just GOES. It's perfect. Sadly they were out of a key ingredient or two to make pizza when we were there - during Thanksgiving week, so... not "normal" timing - so we sadly could not try their pizza. But we enjoyed multiple great pours, some good cocktails, great conversation, and exploring all of the details in the decor. A staple for any visit I'll be making to College Station and Aggieland.

I've only been here for drinks in mid-March so I can't comment on the food…read more Located in the Stella hotel, this is a spot that has the look of an elegant upscale spot. With that look comes upscale prices. You'd think the prices would match the experience but as with most hotel restaurants, they do not. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of food and drink options here and some deliver such as the Pine & Petal cocktail which is as pretty as it is tasty with the hibiscus, pineapple, mint and lime mixed with buffalo trace. And I enjoyed the Walt Blue Jay Pinot Noir which was a generous pour delivered. As for service, it's the definition of inconsistent. When I sat down, they greeted me within a couple minutes and poured my wine immediately and let me sip it in peace. So far so good. But when I finished, they approached and asked me if I'd like another drink which I replied about the Pine & Petal cocktail. They put it in and then the bartenders go to some other guests and chit chat about some contest they are setting up with the soda gun and building some paper boat to float down it with the person building the best paper boat getting a prize. I'm sitting there thinking are they gonna make my drink or do I have to remind them again? So they organize this contest with about 4-5 participants and then crown the winner. As they're celebrating, the bartender comes back and asks me what'd I'd like to order. I'm definitely a bit peeved since this was roughly 15 minutes after I had asked them to make the Pine & Petal cocktail. So mentioned that I ordered that cocktail a while ago. The bartenders realized their error and made the drink and decided not to charge me for it. While I appreciate the no charge, having the attentiveness to make the drink instead of focusing on the paper boat contest would've been more sufficient. Especially given the reviews commenting about customer service. Should I stay at the Stella again, I may venture here to try the other cocktails. But I'll probably just order one and be done with it.
