Friendly service and very accommodating. The ingredients are fresh and portions are generous. The dishes are tasty.

Mexican Week menu: taco special has a misfortunate name...even to the damn cook!
    William L.

First time in for dinner specials. We walked in at 5pm and it was totally empty; not another customer to be found! Nice young man (Drew) was running the counter with one guy at the grill and another fellow in the back. That's it. We just got water to drink and both settled in the taco trio this "Mexican week." Meal comes with choice of soup or salad; Queen Bee chose latter and I chose the soup du jour, which was a roasted red pepper soup. Salad was basically a salad, albeit one with good fresh produce and a nice presentation. Soup, on the other hand, was fantastic! It's basically tomato soup with a lot of roasted red peppers and onions in it. Very flavorful and hot...I was told it was just made; it certainly tasted like it, but in a very good way! I wish I could say the same for our entrees. First, the menu calls this thing "taco carnitas." Explanation says it's three tacos, with one being chicken, another being steak, and the third, oddly enough, "carnitas" or pork for all the gringos in the room. I list them by increasing level of success...Sure enough, the pork taco was the best of the three, with the steak coming in a close second. Each of the tacos had a load of diced onion and barely a dusting of cilantro. The chicken taco, well: it tasted like chicken...plain old grilled chopped chicken breast. No Mexican seasoning, no salt, no pepper, no oomph, no nothing. The same train to flavortown carried the sides of black beans and rice next to this poor pocket of poultry. It barely got outta the station; with nary a head of steam. Parenthetically, the picture on their Facebook page shows big attractive portions of rice and black beans. Our dinners received two measly monkey dishes. Just as well since both were tepid and bland! The plate came with a wedge of lemon. I think lime is the more appropriate accompaniment! Drew told us he wasn't too familiar with the menu either. He did note to the grill man that there should be 3 tacos on each plate, ie one of each type. Grill Guy initially put two pork tacos on each plate but Drew to the rescue. That initiated a dialogue between them about the confusing name....Drew mentioned this confusing name when we ordered too. So this visit gets a demotion to three stars. I wish I could make it two and a half. We certainly would return again to explore more of the menu and their otherwise great specials.. The other times we've been there: home run. This time barely made it past first base wheezing and gasping! Only thing that may make it three stars rather than two is Drew's friendly service and demeanor. At least he's trying and does mean well. The other highlight of the whole meal was the bowl of soup. This, to me, is kinda sad in the context of a full meal. I hope this is the only time we are disappointed by this place. Methinks dinner here no great choice for us: at least no time in the near future.

What a great find I kind of found on accident ! It's a 24 hour diner in just a small unassuming plaza but wow do they have great food ! The owners are German...I got the Rouladen and it was fabulous ! I got it with red cabbage (specials only)...It was sweet and very tart ! The German potato salad was some of the best I ever had ! The salad while not fancy ,was chopped up very evenly which I liked and everything was very fresh...The House dressing was like a mix of creamy and thin dressing, and it was very very good ! I highly recommend that...Jay, my server, was very good and helpful...He told me dinner specials are only served until about 9:30 pm, and that they only run the German specials one week out of the month...The rest of the month the specials are chef's choice...I highly recommend this place! It's now one of my favorites in the Clearwater area.

Last night was "German night" at the diner. As a special, they offered authentic German food. Several of us met up there. The restaurant is hidden in an old strip mall. Inside it was very warm & we were told the air conditioner was broken. Despite that, we stayed & are glad we did. I ordered Jaeger Schnitzel. This is a breaded chicken breast covered in a mushroom gravy. It came with spaetzel & German potato salad. The food came out fast & was delicious. The chicken was pounded & light and tender. The gravy was rich & satisfying. The spaetzel was on point. And the potato salad was warm & full of flavor. What a fun experience.

Small restaurant in the Keene plaza off East Bay Dr. One thing that jumped out at me when I sat down and looked around, was how clean this restaurant is. I do kind of linger around after my meal and read my emails ,so it gives me some time to really check out a place.

Corner Omelet. Well made, not dry; Potatoes nicely done with peppers and onion.

We walked in and were told to sit wherever we wanted, we chose the window seats. Hahahaha! I ordered the Locals Favorite and my guest ordered the Salmons Benedict we shared the Chicken and waffles. The service was great, our server was great too! We asked about real maple syrup and she actually tracked down a bottle, I couldn't believe it! ( Pictured) The Local Favorite was excellent! The crab cake was perfectly seasoned, the English muffin was toasted perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was also perfect. The cheesy grits were good as well! I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. My guest also loved her meal, ( Salmon Benedict) the salmon was perfectly done without being dry, the eggs were a little beyond poached but that's okay. The home fried potatoes were golden brown and an excellent addition to the meal. The ambiance is super chill which is surprising considering how good the food is. The chicken and waffles were exceptional as well. The four chicken strips with tender, juicy and well seasoned placed on top of the golden brown waffle which was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The butter and maple syrup was butter made this waffle an 8/10.

To be fair, we were told by the manager to call, give them another chance to make it right etc. However, we didn't call and only gave them a second chance this morning with friends. The reason I didn't call to "make it right" was I want the experience I have at a restaurant to be organic, and not get special or specialized treatment because we made a complaint. Now, on to our adventure today. We (a party of 4) arrived around 1020ish and were seated pretty quickly. The restaurant was pretty full, which was expected as it was a Sunday morning. The lady who seated us (not our waitress...tall with long dark hair) was very friendly, chatty, and funny. We appreciated her service. Our waitress was quite inattentive. We each got a cup of coffee, along with waters, iced tea, etc. Once we got our drinks and the orders were placed, we didn't see the waitress again until after the food was delivered (i.e., a very, very long time). The tall dark-haired lady finally came around and refilled our coffee/tea/water after they had all sat empty for 10+ minutes. The wait for the food was so, so, so long. We waited close to 45+ minutes for our food (nothing special, nothing fancy, straight up off the menu, no changes or alterations). This has not improved since the last time we were there and it is just baffling to me that it takes so long to get food out. The biscuits and gravy were enjoyed enjoyed, however 2 of the 4 biscuits were so hard she could not cut them with the fork, and with very very great difficulty with the knife. The tops of the biscuits were soft and pillowy but the bottom were pucks. This time the eggs seemed to have been cooked properly My husband was not happy with the omelette he got, and they took that off the bill without us asking. She did mention that she could have another order put in for him but (and these are her words), "It would take about 15 hours for you to get your new plate of food." We declined a new order and thanked her for taking it off the check. I got a sandwich and it was fine, nothing special but also not awful. Our other friend got a full breakfast platter which he enjoyed. He said the pancakes were very fluffy. So, in this updated review, I have increased the stars for the food because it wasn't *as* awful as last time, but still problematic. The worst thing, which was an issue with our first visit, is the wait time for food. It is just too. dang. long. I look at a place like Lennys, where we would have been in, seated and eating by the time we got our first coffee refill (also much too long in a breakfast place.....just....have coffee ready??). We did note when we walked in there were only 3 servers for the dining room --- perhaps they were short staffed which is why we only saw our server 4 times --- once for drinks, once to take food orders, and once to check on food, and once to drop the check. It was the lady who seated us who had a great rapport with the table, who was cheerful and friendly who can take credit for the two stars in ambience. In the end, we gave them another shot. No one at the table was impressed. The kitchen is woefully slow. The service was inattentive. we will not be coming back.

I noted some of the other customers were being addressed by their first name and as one left he called out, "bye family, see you tomorrow for breakfast!" This was quickly responded to by, "See you 'name' and have a great day!" I don't know about you, but I needed a welcoming friendly no chain breakfast spot. As for the food I ordered it was good, not extraordinary or special in taste. My California omelette was good in taste, but I'm not a fan of having raw onions in my omelette (to me they should not be raw. Throw the onions in some butter and cook them until soft, then add to omelette. In my opinion it could have been excellent if not for the raw onions and very little seasoning. The home potatoes, fair, needed seasoning, and mine were too greasy, however with some added salt and pepper they were okay, portion was good. The side of 2 pancakes were a generous size and tasted like, well regular pancakes. I would have liked my syrup warm, but that's my personal preference and don't think most people care if the syrup is warm or cold. The coffee, it was coffee, no latte's or expressos here. Overall, the waitresses were welcoming to me, attentive, and food was a generous portion size and good. For the money worth going back.

Hung all around the restaurant were funny signs that said things like "No one cares about your diet, just eat your salad and be sad" or "If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong" Even the menu was funny.
